the 2001 is 12 port also just like the STH, but uses a smaller rotor, possibly the same one used on the Model 3. Federal never made a 10 port siren, and only used a 10 port rotor/stator on the 2T22/3T22.
No, every single 2001 ever made since the late 80s, when the "round-back" 2001-DCs were introduced, have been 12 port. They use a high-tone Model 3's rotor, which has 12 ports. If they had a 10 port rotor, and the motor ran at the same speed it does now, they would sound more like a rotating version of an old Model 5.
No both sirens are STH-10's. The one at the Fire Station in the distance has a lower pitch than the one in town.

The one in the Distance at the other location sounds like a 2001. Definately right about the STH-10

thats a 2001

2001s don't stay at a steady tone that long for attack signal and I promise you that sound is a STH-10.

It doesn't hit anywhere near as high a pitch and it is not rotating - STH-10.

sounds like a 2001, why does that it sound like that to me, can you explain michigancsx622

Well, the 2001 has a 10 port chopper and the STH-10 has a 12 port chopper. It really depends on the Horse Power of the siren.

Are you positive the 2001 has 10 ports and not 12? Because it seems too high pitched to have only 10.
cauberallies 2 years ago
Yes I am positive that it is only 10 ports.
crazywarriorman 2 years ago
Hmm. Didn't know that. You learn something new every day!
Does that mean that the motor has a higher RPM rating?

@murrfarms
Thats what I thought. Everything I've ever seen, heard, or read tells me that the 2001 has 12 ports, aside from crazywarriorman's comment.

OMG how many times does that thing go off?
