Why is this guy being seen as a virtuoso? There's so many better than him—he's just a pop player. The original Summer beats this one by far. This is like taking the Mona Lisa, spilling a can of ink on it, and calling it art.

You should recognize the MANY violinists that could destroy this guy. The only difference is this one plays it with a power guitar. That's the only reason Oprah recognized him.

I suppose you'll thumbs down this comment instead of reasonably debating it.

This actually is an original Summer.

There are multiple movements, and this is the Allegro, and he is playing it accurately and correctly.

And yes, he is a virtuoso.

Can you play violin like him?

And I didn't even know who he was until about six months ago. I never watch Oprah.

Are you serious? you have no idea who is David Garrett, who not only orthodox classical music touch says it is not closed-minded .... the original piece here played by an orchestra and watch? v = ozKpB0eyze and you should read his biography and his education before saying he is "just a pop player"

of course for the classic fans his rendition is a little different. but for the average listener, kinda rock. the fact that he can arrange the original music into his own style showed just how talented he really is. It's not easy thing to do. If he can do it this way, he can also play it like Vivaldi has meant it to be. can you do both?

whats your problem? there are nearly no jung people who would listen to the original today.

i play violin for 9 years now and i hear no of the old classic just mordern versions.

you can still hear vivaldis one but there are people who prefere stuff like that with "mordern" background musik.

thats the only way to interest more people in "classic" music or classic instruments.
