  • Man watching this movie

    brings back memories

but what I didn't know was that they said estimated to 100 crashes or more were real

the reports with the civilians were real

the police officers (CHP, Long Beach County, LAPD, Los Angeles County Sherrif's Dept., & others countys) were real

most of the chase was unpredictable, those crashes were not set ups nor stunts

if you have the VHS bonus edition

they will prove to you that the chase scene wasn't fake

including a bonus clip showing that big jump

  • lo unico bueno de esta pelicula es la persecucion y nada mas, despues es pesima,si hicieran una pelicula asi hoy en dia no se quien pagaria ´por ver esto, una perdida de dinero

  • i got a ford focus that dont get the gas mileage that these cars evidently do.

  • AND THE BROKEN EXAUST MANIFOLD-----------CLACK CLACK CLACK------THEY ALSO CUTOUT THE SOUL BROTHAS IN THE CADDY

  • THE REMASTER TOOK AWAY ALL THE GLORIOUS BIGBLOCK SOUNDS AND ORIGINAL SIRENS

  • Remake? WHAT REMAKE????

    Best car chase EVER

  • i remember seeing on a tv show that this stang didnt need any mechanical repairs from this chase scene... just 4 new tires... which is amazing

  • @1Veerab A good B grade 70's action film is a bit like a porno, it gives you constant gratification without wasting your time with a plot.

  • so bent

  • 5:50 eazy-e, snoop & andre's real fathers.

  • I HATE THE ADDED 90'S CONTEMPO BACKGROUND MUSIC IT KILLS IT.

  • @Hot80s What do you mean the added music in the background i have the original movie on dvd and the music has always been there

  • @T18CE Well its not actually original but i have it on dvd and it says original copy on it

  • @T18CE exactly, the dvd has re-mastered audio.

  • They killed a lot of Cadillacs in this movie which is sad.

    '71-'72 white Eldo gets burnt

Another '71-'72 runs into Eleanor at pole crash

Cadillac Dealership gets all #@$%ed up

And Billy's Cadillac becomes the last one rollin'.

    LOL

  • Too bad this c*** s***r in the mustang didn't break his neck, too bad!

  • Wtf that was all

  • Thats a ford capri at 2:47 with it's repeater flashing, a british car. It looked the biz but that was about it! I had one in the mid 90's.

  • in the car wash th car was in good shape... and then it was still wreck... lol... really good movie anyways.

  • in these days they made this movie, gascars was cheap, breaks my heart to se them, these days, but, the movie was good...

  • Put a 440 in those MOPAR pursuits and that Mustang wouldn't have stood a chance!!

Probably one of the best car chases ever put on film!

  • @msbaugh440 you mean the best car chase to ever have a film rapped around it

  • Hahaha, "What happened to your car?"

Guy: "You know those parking lot attendants..." LOL xD

    4:11

  • that mustang is like a tank. it´s amazing how many crashes can hold that thing that´s why i love clasic mustangs wonderfull

  • @SkyriderBond Sorry to say but the car in the film was modifed like mad. BUt classic mustangs/muscles cars are the best.

  • @thejunkmanlives Wow i did not knew that. It´s just that i have a behind the scenes special about gone in 60 seconds and acordin to them the car was stock. Anyway like you say classic cars are grate im a witness of that i have a 1965 mustang coupe and early this year one truck hit me from the rear and make me hit a bus. but even so the damage on mi car wasn´t so bad but the guy from the truck take the worst part jeje

  • i love them caddys and lincolns from back then so gangster looking

  • 3:15 ouch, said the mustang

  • very cool

  • What a shit movie. Great cars though...

  • 3 ppl. have no appreciation for genius direction of THE greatest car chase of that decade. Thank God my 'ol man took me to see it, back in '74.

  • Awesome movie

  • the music sounds like the background music in a crappy porn film

  • oh my goodness gracious!

  • I love how after the jump the car spins to the left in the slowmo, and in the high speed version, it tears off unscathed to the right. I guess continuity wasn't a real big deal back in the day. But even so, this is 100% better than that bag of crap with Cage in it. The stunts were so much better back in the day when they didn't depend 100% on CG.

  • haha i love how classic cadillacs were hoopties at that time...

  • terrible movie

  • @mcelfreshiii HOW?

  • i like the part where he drives a mustang

  • Watching this i feel like doing the same in GTA! lol

  • @GTAIVFan17 hell yeah :D

  • 1974 Best

  • I wonder if any modern car could survive such punishment...

  • "And I ruined my perfectly good umbrella ." News flash, she broke her umbrella! The world is ending! Her umbrella broke, oh the humanity!

  • GTA all the way

  • I love the 6 pot-smoking negros in the back-firing busted up Caddy! lol

  • @KaLeLMvZ

Maybe he did turned around, but they just didn't show it, when it was in real speed.

    maybe it was too quick.

But of course, im not sure, pretty interesting find.

    Didn't notice that before.

  • man, that's one big hustle he made

  • Man, this chase just doesn't end XD, just the way I like it.

  • This jump unfortunately did not end so nice, read this:

"The Jump, And The Compacted Vertebrae

The jump is over 128 feet in length, and today would never be contemplated without the help of CGI. Director and Star H.B. Toby Halicki compacted ten vertebrae performing the jump, and while the injury was not very serious, the director of photography Jack Vacek claimed Halicki never walked the same again."

  • 3:10 "Helo down there, this is up here..." lmao!

  • Just listen to the sound there would never be one like that just simply AMAZING.

    Head-up if u agree.

  • That was fucking epic.

  • Haha nice ending very smooth car swap

  • that jump at the end really f***ed that guys spine up he ended up with s compressed disks

  • This one way better than 2000 one

  • wow...

  • Well that movie sucked...

  • The music isn't original, it had VERY 70's sounding music but when they tried to release it on DVD in the 1990's they couldn't secure the rights. The original music fit the hocknest of this music perfectly. Classic 70's C movie.

  • Is it me or does the music sound too modern for a 1974 film! ? Very early 90's sounding.

  • i like the Mach 1's -- Fastbacks cool machine foldown rear seats==best color white black==any color

  • 3:10 Hello Down there this is up here 3:20 and I ruin my perfectly good Umbrella LMFAO Classic Lines

  • first time seeing a movie without a storyline and its awesome luv the part when he swapped cars and the woman fainted when she saw the car pricless

  • AH GOD I GOT FUCKING LEMON JUICE IN MY EYE WATCHING THIS MOVIE! MOTHER FUCK!

  • why destroy so much cars???? I do not understand.

  • This movie is missing the first 50 minutes. The chase scene is awesome but not having the first 50 minutes takes away from the story line.

  • @soupernova1972 what story line???? who needs a story line??!!

  • There was no way that huge boat those detectives were driving could have kept up with the chase.

  • Stabilizator poszedl sie jebac :D

  • @tomash87 xD

  • that was the most epic thing i have ever seen

  • full of beautiful amazing cars i want em all! =D

  • uwielbiam takie filmy.. maja to cos ten klimat..;)

  • Hello down there, this is up here

  • Wtf are you moaning about? Go buy yourself any modern sports car and you can turn traction control and or stability control completely off. If you're feeling balsy go drive a modern Viper SRT10 ACR. No electrical assists and the potential of achieving speeds in corners that people couldn't even imagine in 1974.

Not to mention that I have yet to hear of any sort of racing that allows traction control.

(Not bashing the movie in any way)

  • @c0nv1ct1337 not what i was getting at... and we had a 2004 viper mamba edition.. and thats the closest you can get to a classic muscle car in my book but you still don't get the same raw feeling you do in a classic muscle car

  • What the hell are some of you people yammering about? This is a kickin movie. Such an epic chase.

  • To bad this movie didnt last only 60 seconds.

  • people paid money to see this shit

  • lol There IS a pay&spray!!!!

  • Oh my Gosh! What a crappy movie!

  • Ride it Like a FORD PUSSYS!!!!!

  • badass car man toook soo much hits and stll keep on and on.

  • This was way cool....but....did any of you feel sick by some of the cars they destroyed??!! This had to have cost alot to make.

  • @willyboi708 but back then they didnt care aboutt cars...im only 14 and i shudder at dukes of hazard destruction and smokey and the bandit, and this one

  • OMG NOW THATS HOW YOU END A CAR CHASE MOVIE THATS A CELEBRATION, NOT NO COOKOUT AND HAVING THE CAR BREAK DOWN TO THE END CREDITS!!!!!

  • MANN WHATS GOIN ON MANN GLAD DIS AINT MY CAR MANNN PASS DA JOINT MANNN SHIT MANN SOMETHIN WRONG WITH DIS CAR MAN hahahahah

  • omg this is a short, but AWESOME movie i think its better than 2000 version, i havent seen it, alos this part is off topic to this video but iron man 2 dosent have a story line

  • The climactic scene was filmed in my old neighborhood in Redondo Beach, California. Anita/Herondo St. (which becomes, more famously, 190th Street when you reach the city of Torrance) at Aviation Blvd. I was in the 7th grade when this film came out. Interestingly, it was released in San Francisco several months before it made its debut in L.A., so on a visit I had seen the film, and made sure all of my friends went, too.... Never bothered with the remake (or 2nd version).

  • Insanely great.

  • 2:32-2:34 Let those real '70s jugs bounce!!!!

  • "See you around Billy!"

  • I was mistaken. I thought the chase was the whole movie. Does any1 know where I can watch the whole movie?

  • The new gone in 60 seconds is NOT a remake of this movie. This is just a giant car chase. But, damn! They don't make chases like they used to. This and Bullitt. Two best chases ever.

  • hot boxed to shit lmfao!

  • thats not the same car that he had when he did the jump

    the wind shield was broken

  • @bluntblueb3ast ya thats fucked

  • black kids trying to be white

  • I don't get it, this is the fifth part of mKe197975´s Gone in 60 seconds, but the first part starts with a car chase immediatly. Is this the carchase only? Otherwise it´s a weird movie...

  • @Johan8900 No there's more. That was just the chase scene.

  • Some say Bullit is the best car chase of all time.I disagree. This is the best car chase of all time.

  • extreeeeeeeem coooler film, extreeeeeeeeeeem cooole zeiten damals

  • DAMN THOSE PARKING ATTENDENTS!

  • this ia not even close to the Remake this is just 1 car chasing

    movie sucks

  • @TOKIOHOTEL1000000 yea...as much as tokiohotel sucks

    dude...get a life

  • true, but if you watch the rest of the movie it works out in the end

  • The black smackheads in that movie are way more safe and responsible drivers than the main protagonist.

  • @conoba true but prob nicked the caddy though.....

  • i like a good car chase as much as the next guy, BUT THE WHOLE FUCKING MOVIE . it was a waste of my time.

  • 8:59- "Oh my goodness gracious!" Lol :P

  • Yo Yo Yo! Sumpin wrong wit da Ca-doo-lac. Da white man mussa dunit! Holy crap! W.T. Grants!

  • 3:10 Hello down there, this is up here! haha well said.

  • the car isnt worth the steal anymore...

  • slow mo in 1974 WOW

  • man that fim is only one big car chase Oo

  • oh cool!! a ford (mercury) capri at 2:39 - my favorite car!

  • The NICK CAGE film was a cheap imitation of the original, including the cheesey 3D bridge jump scene!

  • yeah...i really hate that 3D jump...but i like GT500E better...hehe

  • @was91355 and the jump in this isnt overly done cheese either? pft

  • One of the cool things about the chase is it goes from Long Beach to Redondo Beach, north up the Harbor Fwy, then west down 190th st. Most of the streets the police dispatcher calls out are accurate. Even the Mazda and Cadillac dealers are real. Having grown up in Torrance, there's a lot of landmarks I recognize. Blows the Nick Cage version away!

  • "oh my goodness gracious" lmao

  • i found out that over 90 cars were destroyed in this film. and it was funny with those guys in the car

  • Now at 2:15-2:27 it shows him spinning out and then it shows that he lands fine...now whats up with that?

  • @StrikersLG wow very smart found xD

  • @StrikersLG MY Guess is that they just wanted it to look cool.

  • One word sums up feeling of this chase. "Wow!!!"

  • this is when they had REAL cars and REAL drivers none of this traction control and computer shit... now computers basically do the driving and racing for you

  • @CodyLee6969 Who races with traction control on lol? It's designed to help you get grip in rain and help some drivers that arn't used to much power keep the wheels planted. No one with experience will race with TC on. Subaru STi for example has AWD and all the computing power one might imagine, but going in a race with it without any skill and as you say "letting the computers do all the work" will put you in a dead last place.

  • @CodyLee6969 all those things were invented to prevent and decrease mortal incidents ... those old cars were very dangerous and unsafe... they could't even corner properly and obviusly racing like this guy is stupid

  • @CodyLee6969 your stupid bro i have an 04 mach 1 and that thing is a beast to drive

  • @CodyLee6969 yep, also most cars today cant even take a hit without something being wrong with them.

  • Comment removed

  • @CodyLee6969 Dude you have no idea what you are talking about. Sure, cars were great back then but they are much better now. I bet that you still couldnt drive as good as people in the new movie even with the computers. Oh yea, there is also a button to turn of the computers to. Get over yourself

  • @axlplayer14 THERE WILL NEVA BE ANYTHING BETTER THAN AMERICAN MUSCLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @axlplayer14 You can't "turn off computers" in a car. If you did the fuel injection would shut off, not counting the hundred other computer controlled things.

  • @CodyLee6969 the slow mo takes the piss though

  • Quality film. I to had not seen the whole film what a classic film. Now you could not of done that kind of chase using a modern front wheel drive car it would of died a long time ago. Got to of had a long range fuel tank fitted as i dont know many Mustangs that could take that kind of driving on one tank of fuel LOL. Great video thanks for posting it all.

  • Billy = Snoop Dogg's dad

  • aahahahaaha

see yaa around billy >_> xD

  • great clip!

  • Thanks for posting the entire car chase!

Have never seen original Gone In 60 Seconds chase! That was one long ass ongoing car chase!

And to think they only used ONE 73 Mustang Fastback for the entire chase! Incredible!

  • What are the odds of you running into an exact same looking 1974 Ford Mustang in Speed Yellow nowaday's? well, back in '74 the changes were pretty Big. ( 'cause the car was still being made)

  • Billy's Caddy got all jack'd up!!!

  • wow was this the actual movie? or just Part of it?

  • its the finale, the final chase that lasts 40 minutes

  • part

  • awesome movie.

  • and now ?? few cool again ?

ahh the seventies was cool ;)

  • Haha nice goodyear advertisement there xD

  • Comment removed

  • VERY EPIC Chase. One of the best chases I ever actually sat down to watch for almost 45 minutes... And the longest one too. =]

    Very satisfied.

  • And pretty realistic too.

  • Because it IS real. Everything in the whole movie is 100% real, no CGI, no green screens. One guy, one car (ok, there were two Eleanors, but one did all the stunts, the other one drove away at the end and cameo'd in a few shots). And she still runs and drives today, his widow owns her.

  • Yeah your Totally right and thats why old Car/Truck movies are way better than the newer ones.

  • yup....kinda crazy knowing he used only ONE car for the whole chase.......shows how well they were built back then.

  • yeah its true (punch an old mustangs mudguard and you brake your han then punch a new cars body and brake the car)

  • i ain't getting home in this shit, man!

    LOL

  • I don't wanna be rude, but scene with slo-mo jump and then normal speed jump is a little bit embarassing... :P

  • Umm, what? I kinda saw that but got distracted by the bouncing bits on the running chicks just after the fast jump (just like the director intended) 8-)

  • @Przemusiek one slow mo take would have been ok, but 3-4, really, a bit excessive

  • @Przemusiek , well ur existence is ruding enough

  • @humvee600 LOL!!!

  • I saw this movie aloooong time ago at the theatres. It blew my mind. The sequences in the car chase finale are beyond it's time. The Nicalos Cage version is such a dupe even to this day compared to this one, And this one is outdated with it's sqaure shaped cars. Even the Eleonar is not that great of a looking car compared to the present but the the sound of it in the movie is really awesome. And the kids these days in their 1.6 liter cars with mufflers revving up at Mcdonalds drive-thru. Ha!

  • 1.14 no dixie horn hahaha

  • 8:59 - OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS!

  • WTF? did I just saw a 60 min car chasee? is that all the movie?

still I don't understain why I like it

  • Spectacular Chase!

  • more like gone in 60 minutes haha. good chase vid that one :)

  • hate the slow mo jump they show it 5 times once is enogh but how can you wreck that car!
