  • you try too hard to sound smart

  • absolutely terrible review, wtf is a old bag talking about technology, he has no knowledge about tech...

  • i agree 100%

  • I have been looking at phones all day and by far this is the worst!! My friend has it and its touch screen is terrible! You cant put to many applications on at the same time cause then the phone take forever to load anything!! I do not advise anyone to get this phone!! The internet is VERY slow. Youtube videos always pause at the first 5 seconds.

  • what service provider does ur friend have it on?

    w w w. Storm-BlackBerry. com

  • Crackberry

  • "this thing", come on. At least get someone that knows what "this thing" he is holding is called. I can see why The Wall Street Journal is the last place to look for the latest technology news. At least get someone in his 40's to do the reviews. This dude is waaayyyyy too old to be talking to me (a 20 something) about technology.

  • aint it the 1st blackberry with a touch screen too or was there one before it??

  • First of all you do not have to push hard on the screen. I light press is all that's needed. 2. You're paying for an unlimited data plan so who cares about wi fi? Hang out in a hotel or coffee shop all day? Got better things to do. Moving in a car? Forget it. Got a password to hop on someone else's wi fi? Forget it. It's not like you're going to get a discount for using it. I've used wi fi twice in 2 years. Have no need for it.

  • apple fanboys would buy the macbook wheel ,,mac os lol

  • He is talking to us like we are idiots.

  • Ok People..

Almost every review I watch has (Apple, vzq, att, sprint t-mobile, win-mo, android) haters, lovers, fanboys and the works.

Every phone has its pros and cons, and I'm sick of hearing all of this flaming and bs.

If you want to do that, make your own video and comment whatever you want there.

  • every phone gets its "flaming".

Theirs a reason why the Storm gets more. No WiFi is absolutely ridiculous for a phone thats supposed to be great. I had high hopes for the storm. And the click screen feels extremely ockward (thats an opinion obviously though)

  • Your spelling is "ockward."

  • From one Journalist to another you did a nice Job Walt and the fireplace behind looks great as a backdrop!. In Spain we have very very fast 3G. ADSL & Broadband even in the mountains so we don't need to look for wifi at all. The main thing that we look for here is the phones camera quality and if the phone is user friendly. The Wall street Journal, where many great and well spoken reporters and even presenters I believe have passed by

  • Excellent review. A bit slow, but tells you everything you need to know. Good job Walt!

  • YOUR COOLL!!!

  • Are Walt and Colonel Sanders related?

  • Doubtful, but I have a neighbor that's related to Mr. Sanders.

  • I cannot listen to this man's voice without considering suicide.

  • thats pretty bad when the only thing thats better on the iphone is wifi, and thats just a feature, not even a part of the data plan..AT&T sucks.

  • After reading numerous negative reviews I've noticed an echoing trend, the cry over WiFi. Hmmm, if I'm at a hotel, I usually have my laptop and smartphone (so if I need WiFi & want to pay for that WiFi; I can). Over the last year of my travels, my Verizon wireless modem has been a godsend, has excellent rate of speed and coverage. I'm sure Storm users will have the same experience whenever they need to access data. The phone should switch over CDMA/3G when one or the other service is inaccesible

  • iphone , blackberry bold, blackberry storm, samsung instinct or latest flip phone?

    preferences/reccomendations?

  • I Have to say that was one of the best reviews i have yet watched. It was fair and balanced gave both strengths and weaknesses. Most i have watched have used the word "Hate." Which doesn't belong in a review. So Bravo on good, objective reporting!

  • Good review, but I wouldn't say RIM is just joining the super smartphone field, they're expanding on it.

  • storm can do waaaaaay morethan the has been i phone

  • He got more talk time due to a WEAKER processor. The processor in that thing is garbage.

  • Storm's CPU - 624MHz

iPhone's CPU - 412MHz (the processor is capable of 620MHz but it's underclocked to 412MHz, probably to save Battery Life)

  • All of these phone companies are trying to beat the iPhone, but what they don't realize is that the iPhone's simplicity is what gets a bunch of peoples attention. All these phones like the Black Berry "Storm", LG Vu/Voyager, and Google G1 try to put these stupid ideas like a click able screen into their phones but when doing so the phones become WAY TO COMPLICATED! And so that don't sell because they are not user friendly.

    Apple iPhone FTW!!!

  • Apple certainly didn't invent the touch screen (also referred to as a 'natural interface'), though they'd love for people to believe that. Note, I own a MacBook Pro, ipod, etc.. but I'm not just some blind fanboy. The iphone is great really if you have a Mac. Besides that, the RX/TX (the actual phone) tech inside is garbage. Complete and total garbage. Probably just some chinese manufacturer doing WCDMA for the first time. You never hear a WHISPER about the iphone's call quality, even from Apple

  • actually, i'd have to say that the storm looks pretty simple to me. Anyone who can't get the interface are just are ignorant and they don't deserve to have a smartphone.

  • ahhh, i hate when people use the term "ignorant" in a general sense, when no one is fully ignorant, just ignorant in certain areas. it may look simple, but when using it, it may be different

  • Certainly, but I'd have to say that the menu system on the Storm does look simple enough. Most cell phones aren't that complicated, so his point isn't valid.

  • WOW, I didn't mean to start anything. I was just stating my opinion, and that's why I am not going to argue because these statements are opinions. You all may think my point is "invalid" but that's what YOU think. And if you think being opinionated is ignorant then you are the ignorant one.

  • I'm saying that saying that cell phones are too complicated to use seems a bit strange. I don't think that the Blackberry Storm, LG Vu/Voyager/Dare, or the G1 have stupid ideas either.

  • best touch screen ever, clicking makes it so easy to navigate without errors

  • hi there, check my review on the nokia n96,and tell me what u think!!!

  • lkjadfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff oh sorry, i fell asleep. XD

  • what to get,bb storm or the nokia n96

  • I'm stuck with this decision:

    Nokia N96

    iPhone 3G 8GB

    BlackBerry Bold

    Blackberry Storm

    Which one do I get?

  • iPhone 3g

  • iphone sucks.

its the common thing now. its boring and not fun anymore.

its lost its shimmer and now has used up all of the "wow" factor.

    screw the iphone.

  • yeah, everyone seems to have one and are quite pleased being stuck on the most unreliable and useless AT&T network (more time spent using the WiFi than the regular data connection). I wonder why. iPhone is really limited in such things as battery life, ability to replace the battery, and expandable memory. No such issues in the Storm exist. Yes, the wow factor of the iPhone is spent and when people tear into the phone, the innards are pure junk.

  • yeah, iPhone 3G if you want to be stuck at some coffee shop for your data transfers. Also, if you want to be "stuck" in Apple's proprietary domain. The future is Open Source software and DRM free music. iPhone users should unshackle their chains and buy the G1 from T-Mobile or the BlackBerry Storm. BTW, you can't change out memory cards or batteries in the iPhone (sorry).

  • i second that. the iPhone 3G has everything these phones your looking at has, and more. unless you absolutely hate AT&T (which i know a few people that do), then the decision is a no brainer; the iPhone 3G. Mine's GREAT! and the App Store is awesome!

  • no WIFI? bad idea...

  • Is it really necessary? when do people really use WiFi on their cell phones anyway? Verizon has the best data connection plan available. I certainly don't need WiFi access at home, and whenever and wherever I need access, WiFi is just simply not available. I shouldn't have to run to the nearest Starbucks to get some sort of decent or fast connection for my data. Simply put, if I'm in the office, I use my workcenter for access. If I'm at home, I use my laptop or desktop for quick data access.

  • Nice review and pleasant delivery.

  • if he talked fast no one would bt able to get what hes saying

  • good review but you talk waaaayyyyyy to slow

  • i agree

  • nice
