live stuff always sucks compared to album versions,thats just how it is,but how can a band be expected to get it right live everytime,it's easier in a studio and you have more time to mess around with stuff, having said that this is a fair and genuine performance from a hard working band that has suffered too many lineup changes,an all too frequent curse in rock/metal,changes in lineup spoil any band and rarely enhance them.

here you can try it out, sing the vocals in high pitch by yourself, then grab a guitar and play the riff and sing the same line. if you didnt focus hard enough to do both right, you will notice the singing-like slurr dave does, he probably had more focus then when he was younger (on top of all the drugs he was on =) ).
