Do that.... To be elegible for an msat you have to be enrolled in UTI.... genius.... So wyotech my ass. Anyways reread older posts... 4.0gpa, 100%prof, 99.8%attn. Oh yea, i kinda did work the whole time... In the school during the morning as a lab asst. a few hrs after school...
Fafed2blk, who are u talking to?? If it's me then youre the one thats baked... I didnt get into an MSAT because of 2 pts, no one talked about wyotech... That place sucks as much as lincoln tech.
Anyways i never wanted to go to a german manufacturer, since UTI I've become a ASE master tech before my 1st year, I'm now ASE master & Lexus senior master tech. I have no regrets, ive always had the ability and the school gave me the foundation.
School doesnt teach you to change parts any idiot can d
dude youre full of shit maybe you should look at the requirements again because just for like two of the MSATs you need at least a fucking 3.5...and doesnt teach you how to replace parts? wtf are you smoking? you are just pissed because you didnt get into a german MSAT cuz your grades were trash....yea a lot of people because they have to actually work while theyre goin to school which results in about a 70 hour work week. and having fun doesnt make people stupid.
Hey I need some ones advice I got to UTI curently. I a young and dont want college to end. I realize that I will have to work . But I get this drift as soon as I join a dealer ship It feels that all fun will be over. Thats Why I toy with the idead of going to college after this.
I would suspect that you can find these types of pictures in nearly any school. That being said, schools of this type attract kids who are looking for a serious education in the automotive field and have researched UTI or who are looking for an easy way out. No path is easy. Only thing to say is "drive" is what brings humans to the next level.
Anybody go to school here with any positive things to say? Been looking at going and been hearing alot of negative stuff. Toured the campus and all just still super unsure about it.
@tobythesandwich dont go by the negative, the school won't teach you how to change parts etc... but it will teach you the most imporant thing... theory, how things work, why they work and how to diagnose. Can't diagnose if you don't have those 1st 3 down... It's worth it IF you really want a career out of it...
@tobythesandwich Im at the Norwood campus right now and I love it. The instructor does make the difference, but you can enter this program knowing nothing and leave it ready to work in the field. Just be ready for a LOT of electrical classes (7 if youre doing just auto). Totally worth the time and money
Hey acadeee just FYI i go to UTI and as a matter of fact just because theres a couple students that dont give two shits about their education DOESNT MEAN WE ALL FUCKING DO... Calling EMs sleazy and shit... you need to get a life. I happen to know EVERY INSTRUCTOR AND ADMINSTRATION STAFF at the glendale heights campus, so before you go dissing their instructional skills maybe you should grow up and every instruuctor knows their area of the field and the people that sleep are the ones wasting 30K
Man someone really doesnt like this school.. did you fail a drug test and get kicked out? Cuz I love this school. And trying to stay awake during lecture at 6AM when you just got off work 6 hours ago is pretty fuckin hard.
I lol'd at 2:32. But I've been seriously weighing the idea of going to UTI: Exton. I'm so on the fence about the issue because I hear so many bad things. I hear alot of the problem though is lazy students who are just trying to cruise through. And I can't ask any representatives at UTI because they aren't exactly going to talk bad about their own school.
The author needs to grow up. Seriously, every college has dumb party kids who end up not even doing what they went to college for. DId you know that about 50% of psychology majors that graduated in 2008 with a bachelors degree dont even work at a job that requires it! You get back what you put in. And dont be mad that people make money by teaching. Its all about money. Whats wrong with that?
My main advice is to go talk to local dealerships, there will be service mangers there that will be more then happy to talk to you (especially if you get your car serviced with them) about were they get their employees from and what you should do.
I'm going to UTI next month, May 10th actually is my first day of class. However, I've been messing around with cars for a while and already know a lot and thought that attending UTI would be a fun and rewarding experience. I'm really into this stuff and I believe I will do very good.
@faostube If students choose to sleep in class its a sign of no interest to the field. I'm interested in everything, engines, electronics, computer, I don't have time to nap and fool around, only to learn about what I came in for and make the best of it in life.
@faostube i thought i knew a lot too, but you'll be introduced into a whole new perception. not saying its necessarily hard but you cant go in thinking you know everything. those guys are the biggest faggots at the school and the ones that give it a bad name. honestly to everyone thats thinking about going, just weight your options. i personally would have just stayed at my juco looking back but ive learned aa lot here and you get what you put into it.
can anyone answer my question?, well i wanted to go to a community collage first then go to uti and go into ford program or something else if i ever go there. well is it a good school? because the closest school is in florida but i have been hearing bad things about the school
There are a lot of idiots that go to UTI... but there are a lot of morons at every school. If people put in as much effort in their education as this person did just to make this video to make the school look bad then they'd be just fine. The school has already started helping me find a job in the industry and I'm not even graduated yet. I know several people who they have found employment for. You can't find a job for someone who never applied themselves.
I will be attending uti in august as well. In Avondale az I'm currently here on a campus visit and housing run down. I feel kinda green to the whole mechanic deal but I learn fast just don't want to be setting myself up for failure. We shall see how it goes.
do it man. i started uti not knowing what an intake manifold was lol. i graduated in 07 and ive been working at Penske truck leasing for three years now and im doing great.
Those are the ones who go to UTI, spend $24k+ on schooling then bitch about it later when they can't get hired or feel like they didn't learn anything.
You only get out of a school what you put into it, whether it's community college or Harvard.
my last day at U.T.I was on 10/17/2008 and they never helped me get a job like they sed they would. they took my time and my money ($24,000.00) and now I have to go back to college and picup where I left off befor I went to U.T.I
Im headed to NTI in March. But I seriously know pretty much nothing right now. I'm a fast learner, but I'm kinda worried about how it'll all turn out. Any tips?
By the way, there are plenty of good female techs there but you wouldn't know that with your eyes closed. Not all the campuses are the same either. some are more strict than others. Thats why NTI is better in my opinion because all the "rednecks" there actually have ambition and purpose there. P.S. We dont mind being called "rednecks" or any other country bashing name. Its a good lifestyle to live. Feel free to coment and if your really offended by what i said, GOOD!
you're right, these are the dildos that populate the school. Unfortunately they make up about 75% of the student body. I learned plenty, I also went in at 27 yrs old... but I learned and gave it my best, thats why now Im a master certified B tech and a team leader making 60k+
@acadeee Please tell me is uti better or equal to wyo-tech in your opinion, i know that rednecks attend both schools but jus dont want to wast money sleeping?
I also participated in a program called "SPEC" at NTI where we finished a camper world truck series motor, it was a live one, and a couple other race engines. So for the tards that want to bash the school because they were obviously part of the "no load group", man up! Admit to yourself that YOU were one of those sleeping non-professional scumbags in the back of the class not paying a bit of attention when it came to learning.
Sup yall. I graduated from NTI in july of 09 and am 1 week from graduating from UTI in IL. for diesel/industrial. This video does show all the "no loads" and "jamokes" that slip through the cracks but the author is right! You get from the school what you put in. I came to this school at 29 years old with no prior shop experience except for towing and now i do plenty of side jobs and can't wait to put my new skills to test in a truck shop.
When I went only 60% of the poeple I started with graduated, but it feels so good to accomplish something this big. I can tell you sometimes it can get frustrating but for the most part it's easy and all you have do pay attention and get your hands on the project and you'll succeed. when you are in the lab, don't just stand back and watch because you will fail. Get your hands dirty and you will pass. I promise. It can be easy but it can be hard. I'ts all up to you. GOOD LUCK!!!
I graduated from the North Carolina campus on Friday (Dec 4 09) and got a job on Monday ( Dec 7 09) which was shocking for me. I took the Nissan\Infiniti course but somehow ended up at Kia/Hyundai dealer and I like it.
The name of the school is Nascar Technical Institute (UTI campus). I am a Service Tech so im qualified to repair any problem. I'm from the Greensburo Highpoint area.
Other than those facts, Its just a disappointment that these students make it through, and Then put a bad label on the UTI students that actually want to do this and do well and make a career out of it. It its to the point where the employers and apartment complexes around the NTI campus don't wanna hire or rent out to UTI students. because they don't know how to grow up. I remember going apartment hunting I went in wearing a UTI tshirt and was asked to leave they wouldn't rent to a UTI student
2 years later it didn't change. I went to the NC campus back before the Exton Campus was even thought of Didn't finish and joined the military instead. Now with my downtime I decided to go back Being a bit older than the General student body makes me wanna smack half of them. Yes UTI is gonna have the idiots like everyone else in the world. And like the OP said some will get weeded out. Some will get through. Honestly I bet only 15% of the Graduates make it in the field and make good money.
can anyone explain to me what is automotive and ford fact..or like Nissan, like what does that mean I really want to join this school soon but have no clue as to what the classes are or mean
With uti, and pretty much everything else in life, you get what you put into it. If this is all you walked away with after auto, diesel, and FACT, then that's YOUR fault.
wow ur a bunch of rednecks with no ambition to go to a school thats "hard" and you have to wake up early! ya get out of it what u put into it! obviously ur not doin' squat w ur life so move back home and marry your cousin and takeover your dads trailer house!
hey wats up im goin to uti on 12/7/2009 in exton. anyone goin there let me know. we can be friends and share an appartment. save some money. ait later
I am a graduate, it is a good school... only if you really take it seriously. I wont lie to you, about 50% of the ppl will be like this in the video, 25% just can't hack it... and hopefully you'll be in that 15% that actually make it count. I'm a graduate like I said, I did the core program + FACT ending w/ a 4.0 GPA, 99.96% attendance, 100% professionalism.. Like I said, its in you... for the past two years I've been a C tech at a Lexus dealer & I'm master certified, stay clear of retards
@hoodyman88 my 1st year was still hourly I did 23k then I went flat rate did 55k on my 2nd, and I havent dropped from 60k since my 3rd...... If you're good at it, it's a rewarding expirience
UTI's curriculum is actually REALLY good and they give great opportunities to get practice with the newest technology in automotive diagnosis and repair. I felt embarassed at the fact that i attend there because of some of the things that happen around campus. Such as students screaming immaturities while a tour group is passing through, and students injuring themselves because of simple tasks. Theres blue-collar students in white-collar environments and vice versa. 99% of the teachers are great
You have the possibility of meeting idiots anywhere you go in life. UTI is easy to get into, there are kids going to that school with little interest in the automotive field and they are using it as a way to say that they got an education after highschool. 50% of those kids will never see the inside of a dealership for any length of time. I'm on my 2nd to last phase, i got a 3.6 GPA in higschool, ive worked 4 years in the field and have 2 new jobs available to me.
i completly agree with this video uti is not a tech school any more it is a coporation that sells seats. uti has alot of morons that come to thier school and they graduate morons as well and they ruin the uti reputation for everyone. uti doesnt care about that though just the money they can make off you whille you there so they can show profit and get more people to invest in there stocks. if you wanna know more about my experience please feel free to e mail me
well i am going to UTI in houston and got say its a good school its the students that give UTI a bad name cause they are dum ass's but for the student that want to learn it is worth the money and i like it at this school we get a lot of shop time i am the auto & diesel tech &ind with ford fact and i am paying 37K and i think it is worth it i have learned a lot so far
I plan on going to UTI in Houston next year and taking auto & diesel tech with ford fact. We already checked went and toured it. It was awesome I wish i was going there now
I went through the auto/ diesel industrial with ford FACT and i never once fell asleep... these people are waiting time and money... UTI is a great school, if only people would apply themselves
really so its a good school its only bad if your wasting your own time... cuz im starting in august here in boston, ma so im just worried its not as bad as everyone says it is... im also planning to join the ford fact is it worth it?????
yea the one in norwood... my rep is richard jagoutz lol he got me in so thats cool 10 phases in... ill keep that in mind man... my name is steven so ill see you around then
This video is bullshit, ok this is was up man, i go to the U.T.I Sacramento Campus, but i am doing collision and to tell you the truth we dont see that shit in our school, i am not even done and i already have a job, is a good school but if you decide to slack off than thats your problem not the school. i mean there is time to have fun and times to b serious, but this video is fucken ridiculous
No, the video is not fucking ridiculous... I respect your point of view and that you do have a job... it seems like you have direction... this video is about the very people that you said 'slack off'... because in the end, they tarnish our image... the ones that actually make something of it... so go ahead and enjoy the video for what its worth
bull shit i go there that is a dam good school when you get out of there you are set for life with a job free training free tools i paid 36,000 for the 2 year program
You're not out yet, dont talk of uti setting you up 4 life, it helps u get started dats it, going to UTI wont help u climb the totem pole. Out here, 1ST is # of years u got in, 2ND flat rate hrs, 3RD ASE's, they dont care about UTI. Look, i've been at lexus for 1.5yrs.. I have all 8 ASEs, I avg 70+ hrs flat rt a week.. but seniority rules and now that the economy took a shit I hope u can get a good job cuz theres nothing but layoffs right now. Best of luck to you
Acadee i totally agreee with your last post. When i got hired by my current employer they had no idea what UTI was. Im starting at the bottom of the totem pole washin shit.. Only reason why I took it was to get my foot in the field cause not many places were hiring when I graduated. And speakin of layoffs/economy i got laid off 3 weeks ago, and was told to check back in a few months.. So whatever job these guys can find I too wishem the besta luck, cause shits scarce right now..
UTI is all about the money! Not bad training, but not want you would think. You should check out Washtenaw College in Ann Arbor, Mi. They have a few of their student built cars on the Tube (Search "TEAM WCC"). They build real high end customs but they do not spend big money on ads like the others (I took a tour there last week). They are a bunch of bad asses! BEST AUTOMOTIVE/WELDING SCHOOL IN NORTH AMERICAN SINCE 1965! Check out their Custom Cars & Concepts Program.
haha.. "I'm bored as the fuck..." huh? what's this.. baby's first sentence?? Hey it might take you hours cuz YOU are the fucking loser.. I did it in 15 minutes. The joke is on you jerkoff! haha
acadeee, youre gettin a comeback! I was in the second graduating class in Exton. I wonder if Rhodes is still there. Ask him why Sanders never got his daughters numbers.
has anyone taken the mercedes elite collision program? I have 4 more months till graduation and Im not sure if I should apply for it. Any info would be great.
you get paid by the job not the hour. ex lets say replacing brake pads pays 2 hrs by a labor times book. you get paid that two hrs no matter how long it takes you to do it. so you can get paid for 2 hrs in 30 min the faster you are the more money you get. there's more to it also but thats the basic principle
im not sure how they are paid we had two body guys at my dealer and one was hourly the other by the job. no we dont do restorations at uti this school is focused on service
i went to uti in 96 then it was only 11k he he but it was a great school and I learned alot but its just a start nothing will may you great in the auto field but hands on and time i now own my own shop and cleared 1.5m last year thanks uti.
Ya know the funny thing is,those guys sleeping probably pass with 100%! Professionsism is a huge joke at UTI. The education is good, but because of students like this, it give UTI a bad name. So if you dont get into an MSAT(like i did),youve probably just spent 23K to be a lube tech. Sorry to those who are realy interested in the school, but its really not what they make it out to be. If you go, do really well, get those ASE's! and kiss ass to get into an MSAT program! That makes it worth it!
IF theses guys would have took the school serious... they wouldnt have some much neg. shit to say bout it... Im grad. for 5 months now... got a kick ass job wit land rover.... its assholes like this that gave this school a bad name.... sure u can have some fun there.... but fuckin around alot... sleepin in class.... stupid shit...
Hell you might as well sleep most the clip car at the Orlando campus are always broke any way. AS for getting a job if you just do the core program you looking to be a lube guy some where I'm a lube guy at a dealership here in orlando and my job refuses to hire uti graduate as a tech they rather hire from the local Community College.Only way to really make uti work to your advantage is to go to a msat.
im going to UTI, i am half way done, and I honestly think that its all up to the student to listen in class and not slack off. because I have learned a lot just by simply listening. half the class I see slacks off.
i was about to attend the one outside of Chicago. a friend of mine got accepted to the same place as well; he canceled his enroll, to go to another (much cheaper) school. i also had a buddy go to UTI... he is now making big bucks. however he is not using anything he learned there... it is a very nice school; nicer than most that specialize in automotive technical training.
Oh and i can tell you what needs to happen to stop some of this shit. UTI needs to get in contact with there recuiters, because all of us that went know we were fed a bunch of bullshit. If it was straight facts, i would still have went, i and know i would have enjoyed it alot more.
guess its no suprise to see that its the same shit at another campus. Im in FACT at the avondale az campus, almost done, and i can tell you that this video is very close to actuality.
I definately agree with this vid! graduated here with 6 s.o.c. excessive honors. ford fact credentials, graduated Mercedes Benz training, getting paid as much as some ass hole from a cheaper school!
filled out?? um i guess you mean 'failed out'... lets see.. NO. actually I finished with 5 SOCs a 4.0 and 99.96 attendance w/ all ford fact credentials, and thats without a single retake or riding the SOC dong like some of you do.. plus Im at a lexus dealer now..
If you wanna comment go ahead, but if you wanna talk shit u gotta top me..
"This video is what 90% of the student body is all about, if you go to school you know it to be true, otherwise you're in denial."
sad but tru..i gradimuated ther in juleye. with twelfe soc's and 99. something atendince and FAX. but thay got mi whare i am taday!!! gess i can tawk shit
about diesel, remember that while there's potential to earn more.. it'll beat up ur body way more, but you wont last as long. As far as bodyshops, its hard to standardize a flat rate time.. thats why its mostly all hourly. I agree w/ landyatch completely about FACT, it's worth every penny if you take advantage of it. today for example I did a 105k svc (2.6hrs) & timing belt (4.0hrs), the 105 i did in about 45 mins & the T-belt in 1 hr.. so in 1:45mins I got paid 6.6.
Dude you convinced me to give myself the go ahead to UTI becuz I wanna bust $y balls there I mean I'm payin for it too I'm glad you mention this because I'm tryin to shoot for a s.0 when I get there and you also convinced me with just this now ima go ahead and pply for FACT I can't wait to start... Also do u reccomend spending another 30garnd to take collision repair... Ok man thx bye
I dont know about collision repair, it's never been intresting to me.. so I guess thats up to how bad you want it, just remember that while they're both automotive.. that's all the have in common.. you'll never really get in-depth service wise when u do collision.. but that also works vice-versa... good luck!!
The schools retarded...bottom line...the only good part is fucking around with clip cars.Somethnig just isnt right about paying 30 grand to be in a dick infested school all day.Anyone go to the Orlando campus?i wanna know how it is
also there was this guy that failed basic engines three times so he got kicked out but he read at a 2nd grade level. in jump start he asked me how to spell restore muscle cars. and he spelled cars karees. disappointed in uti so much...
lol i go to the uti campus in exton and this vid is so freakin true its too funny, gonna forward this to all my buddies. there was this one guy that graduated 3 phases ago and got a job at pep boys and couldnt even freakin properly balance or mount a tire or change a oil filter, god they let in so many losers.
If you have a legitimate issue with the system, why don't you try to be part of the solution instead of a ONE-SIDED OPINION of an EXPERIENCE that you portray as negative...an EXPERIENCE that you openly admit you learned from.
listen, let me make this very clear.. first of all, a school or a business makes a big difference.. Its about what the focus of the board of directors is.. either profit OR education. Also, this video is not MY "ONE-SIDED" opinion alright.. If you're a student like 97preludevtec & kingenma then you'd understand that YES some people benefit but most wont work in the field. This video is a reality of what you see on an every day basis.
You made a decision to INVEST in your future, in a school that gave you the tools and means to earn back WELL BEYOND what you invested...
YES it's a business, and it does need to bring in revenue...it does need to pay its employees, just like ANY OTHER business...but in no way is this school ripping ANYONE off...and for ever 1 "bad experience" you can name off, I can find 10 great experiences
So you got ALOT out of the school...Did very well...are you doing well since school? Do you have a well paying job with what you learned?...So why degrade a system that obviously helped you, and will be there to continually help you for the rest of your life with job placement if EVER needed...
So for the maker of the video, did it help you or not? What did you have to offer before the school and what did you learn at the school that made a difference. Some People that attend don't realize what they are missing out on until after they've been dropped and worked shit jobs to realize what they could've had. One other thing, of the people that you took pics of, how many of them worked a full time job plus go to the school?
hmm, I actually got a lot out of it.. and I also had a full time job.. but still.. its not the job that makes most em sleep.. is the lack of commitment to the school, constantly dicking around afterhours..
I can say i got a decent amount out of uti, but i knew a bunch before i ever enrolled. The ford program and diesel is what is going to make you the money, the core is a good pratice, and if you know nothing about cars, good learning, but the eletrical from ford, and the diesel pad are the two best things. Those two are going to make me more money than if i would have gotten into ANY of the Msats.
diesel has lots of potential for money. i got into STEP and i love it diesel just isnt for me. but with diesel's everything is huge and i like being able to change a starter with out a floorjack :) good luck with the diesel. oh yea i took FACT too very good program without it id need some help on electrical issues!
maybe if they were listening in class and shop instead of using their phones to take pictures and make videos they would do better. The majority do go on to work and be successful. I can see in this video why these students aren't doing well. They should open their eyes. I am sure their parents would love to know this is what they are doing in phases instead of listening.
If by saying " instead of using their phones to take pictures and make videos they would do better" you were refering to me.. you ought to know I graduated with honors, 4.0 gpa, perfect attendance, SOCs to go with that and ford fact fully credentialed.. Infact I am doing well right now and I did so well in class that I had free time to take these pictures.. well yea, some ppl here will end up at walmart..
@monkeespit I tried but I had 2 points not even on my license, but my insurance... that were going to dissapear 2 months after graduation..... so I didn't qualify..... either way, I've been @ Lexus ever since...
this is a mere reflection of the level of the "greater" majority of the graduating population. Trying to dispute this as false is impossible, some students graduate having difficulties operating a snapon brick or use common logic to diagnose SIMPLE problems.
i find this video to be completely true. i am a graduate of uti sacramento from auto diesel fact 3.87 gpa. and no i do not work at walmart i am a meduim duty diesel tech at a ford fleet service shop

I lol'd at 2:32. But I've been seriously weighing the idea of going to UTI: Exton. I'm so on the fence about the issue because I hear so many bad things. I hear alot of the problem though is lazy students who are just trying to cruise through. And I can't ask any representatives at UTI because they aren't exactly going to talk bad about their own school.
tobythesandwich 1 year ago
The author needs to grow up. Seriously, every college has dumb party kids who end up not even doing what they went to college for. DId you know that about 50% of psychology majors that graduated in 2008 with a bachelors degree dont even work at a job that requires it! You get back what you put in. And dont be mad that people make money by teaching. Its all about money. Whats wrong with that?
rgulley72 1 year ago
My main advice is to go talk to local dealerships, there will be service mangers there that will be more then happy to talk to you (especially if you get your car serviced with them) about were they get their employees from and what you should do.

I'm going to UTI next month, May 10th actually is my first day of class. However, I've been messing around with cars for a while and already know a lot and thought that attending UTI would be a fun and rewarding experience. I'm really into this stuff and I believe I will do very good.
faostube 1 year ago
@faostube If students choose to sleep in class its a sign of no interest to the field. I'm interested in everything, engines, electronics, computer, I don't have time to nap and fool around, only to learn about what I came in for and make the best of it in life.
faostube 1 year ago
@faostube i thought i knew a lot too, but you'll be introduced into a whole new perception. not saying its necessarily hard but you cant go in thinking you know everything. those guys are the biggest faggots at the school and the ones that give it a bad name. honestly to everyone thats thinking about going, just weight your options. i personally would have just stayed at my juco looking back but ive learned aa lot here and you get what you put into it.

can anyone answer my question?, well i wanted to go to a community collage first then go to uti and go into ford program or something else if i ever go there. well is it a good school? because the closest school is in florida but i have been hearing bad things about the school
dren994 1 year ago
There are a lot of idiots that go to UTI... but there are a lot of morons at every school. If people put in as much effort in their education as this person did just to make this video to make the school look bad then they'd be just fine. The school has already started helping me find a job in the industry and I'm not even graduated yet. I know several people who they have found employment for. You can't find a job for someone who never applied themselves.
jonevans20 1 year ago

Im headed to NTI in March. But I seriously know pretty much nothing right now. I'm a fast learner, but I'm kinda worried about how it'll all turn out. Any tips?
gmingfreak13 1 year ago
By the way, there are plenty of good female techs there but you wouldn't know that with your eyes closed. Not all the campuses are the same either. some are more strict than others. Thats why NTI is better in my opinion because all the "rednecks" there actually have ambition and purpose there. P.S. We dont mind being called "rednecks" or any other country bashing name. Its a good lifestyle to live. Feel free to coment and if your really offended by what i said, GOOD!
thillbilly76 2 years ago
you're right, these are the dildos that populate the school. Unfortunately they make up about 75% of the student body. I learned plenty, I also went in at 27 yrs old... but I learned and gave it my best, thats why now Im a master certified B tech and a team leader making 60k+
acadeee 1 year ago
@acadeee Please tell me is uti better or equal to wyo-tech in your opinion, i know that rednecks attend both schools but jus dont want to wast money sleeping?
mckloven1 1 year ago
@acadeee you shouldnt really complain about 75% of the student body if their idiots and your so smart less competition in the future right?
steve23good 1 year ago
I also participated in a program called "SPEC" at NTI where we finished a camper world truck series motor, it was a live one, and a couple other race engines. So for the tards that want to bash the school because they were obviously part of the "no load group", man up! Admit to yourself that YOU were one of those sleeping non-professional scumbags in the back of the class not paying a bit of attention when it came to learning.
thillbilly76 2 years ago
Sup yall. I graduated from NTI in july of 09 and am 1 week from graduating from UTI in IL. for diesel/industrial. This video does show all the "no loads" and "jamokes" that slip through the cracks but the author is right! You get from the school what you put in. I came to this school at 29 years old with no prior shop experience except for towing and now i do plenty of side jobs and can't wait to put my new skills to test in a truck shop.
thillbilly76 2 years ago

Where are you in NC? What is the name of the School? Do you just service a car or tune-up it? BTW I'm from The City of King NC. :)
warham4567 2 years ago
The name of the school is Nascar Technical Institute (UTI campus). I am a Service Tech so im qualified to repair any problem. I'm from the Greensburo Highpoint area.
88soulsurvivor 2 years ago
Other than those facts, Its just a disappointment that these students make it through, and Then put a bad label on the UTI students that actually want to do this and do well and make a career out of it. It its to the point where the employers and apartment complexes around the NTI campus don't wanna hire or rent out to UTI students. because they don't know how to grow up. I remember going apartment hunting I went in wearing a UTI tshirt and was asked to leave they wouldn't rent to a UTI student
fanelli18 2 years ago
2 years later it didn't change. I went to the NC campus back before the Exton Campus was even thought of Didn't finish and joined the military instead. Now with my downtime I decided to go back Being a bit older than the General student body makes me wanna smack half of them. Yes UTI is gonna have the idiots like everyone else in the world. And like the OP said some will get weeded out. Some will get through. Honestly I bet only 15% of the Graduates make it in the field and make good money.

99% of the teachers are great
8valvinsleeper 2 years ago
You have the possibility of meeting idiots anywhere you go in life. UTI is easy to get into, there are kids going to that school with little interest in the automotive field and they are using it as a way to say that they got an education after highschool. 50% of those kids will never see the inside of a dealership for any length of time. I'm on my 2nd to last phase, i got a 3.6 GPA in higschool, ive worked 4 years in the field and have 2 new jobs available to me.

Best of luck to you
acadeee 3 years ago

Check out their Custom Cars & Concepts Program.

you get paid by the job not the hour. ex lets say replacing brake pads pays 2 hrs by a labor times book. you get paid that two hrs no matter how long it takes you to do it. so you can get paid for 2 hrs in 30 min the faster you are the more money you get. there's more to it also but thats the basic principle
landyacht06 3 years ago
oh cool, is it the same for collision repair or restoration? do you guys do restoration at UTI?

Ya know the funny thing is,those guys sleeping probably pass with 100%! Professionsism is a huge joke at UTI. The education is good, but because of students like this, it give UTI a bad name. So if you dont get into an MSAT(like i did),youve probably just spent 23K to be a lube tech. Sorry to those who are realy interested in the school, but its really not what they make it out to be. If you go, do really well, get those ASE's! and kiss ass to get into an MSAT program! That makes it worth it!

about diesel, remember that while there's potential to earn more.. it'll beat up ur body way more, but you wont last as long.

I dont know about collision repair, it's never been intresting to me.. so I guess thats up to how bad you want it, just remember that while they're both automotive.. that's all the have in common.. you'll never really get in-depth service wise when u do collision.. but that also works vice-versa... good luck!!

If you have a legitimate issue with the system, why don't you try to be part of the solution instead of a ONE-SIDED OPINION of an EXPERIENCE that you portray as negative...an EXPERIENCE that you openly admit you learned from.
DamnSheGotAway 4 years ago
listen, let me make this very clear.. first of all, a school or a business makes a big difference.. Its about what the focus of the board of directors is.. either profit OR education. Also, this video is not MY "ONE-SIDED" opinion alright.. If you're a student like 97preludevtec & kingenma then you'd understand that YES some people benefit but most wont work in the field. This video is a reality of what you see on an every day basis.
acadeee 4 years ago
You made a decision to INVEST in your future, in a school that gave you the tools and means to earn back WELL BEYOND what you invested...
YES it's a business, and it does need to bring in revenue...it does need to pay its employees, just like ANY OTHER business...but in no way is this school ripping ANYONE off...and for ever 1 "bad experience" you can name off, I can find 10 great experiences
DamnSheGotAway 4 years ago 2

Those two are going to make me more money than if i would have gotten into ANY of the Msats.

maybe if they were listening in class and shop instead of using their phones to take pictures and make videos they would do better.

Infact I am doing well right now and I did so well in class that I had free time to take these pictures.. well yea, some ppl here will end up at walmart..
acadeee 4 years ago
@acadeee With those credentials, why aren't you in the Porsche program? or at least the BMW one...

@monkeespit I tried but I had 2 points not even on my license, but my insurance... that were going to dissapear 2 months after graduation..... so I didn't qualify..... either way, I've been @ Lexus ever since...

I find the only ones who think this are the ones who don't pass phases and end up at wal mart for lac of intelligence.

this is a mere reflection of the level of the "greater" majority of the graduating population.
