I know that because I was there when she was born--I lived with Chaka in Chicago at one time playing in a group with her husband--I'm putting this in today's context because I never really payed attention to Pretty In Pink at all and never saw them perform...I was just stating from the viewpoint of TODAY, I expected more originality than being another copycat group and I see why they never hit it big and with the Pussy Cat Dolls coming out later just made this girl pop group concept even worst..

@Alia89119 Let me further clarify this--the performance was good but very un-original without using the Pussy Cat comparison--this was post Janet Jackson though the music was not as good and it was clear that Malini was being formatted into something that a label thought would sell a lot of units but flopped instead. Being who she was--she should have came out with a more anthentic and original concept that could have sustained her career longer...Peace!

I remember staying up to watch this performance! They rocked it! Motown had it going back in the day. Too bad they couldn't promote worth a crap!
