Just realised that I had posted a comment using my Husbands account...He wasnt in the Womens Royal Army Corp in the 80's although I feel he could have carried off the skirt with his Lovely lady legs!!!
Brings back memories of the Horse and Groom pub in Guildford Surrey..I was doing my WRAC training early 1980 and I used to play this to Death on their Juke box..I hadnt heard it before or since..and I still think its a real feel good classic!! Thank you!

yes recorded in 1969 shelley winters also sang it. Muriel Day had played in billy liar 1963 and this followed up her irish eurovision entry in 69
