  • In recent years the Japanese have developed a technology to make oil from algae. Japanese technology will revolutionize the world.

  • Brutal. Affords AA fire the brutality in which it's due.

  • strengh and honor to the kamikaze

  • Very cool looking compilation!

  • alright thanks i will.

  • Haha i don't really know the tranlation myself but i think it goes down these lines.

Ancient Gods gathers in the new age.

but i don't know my japanese isn't really good.

  • type in the title i posted , it's the same Kenji Kawai song you posted.

  • my bad that's another track i have from Ghost.. The English title is "The Ghost Awaits In The World Beyond"

  • @ponchoyo

the live version is TIMES better than the CD

  • Have seen old WW2 navel battles, really look like the real thing, tracers, flack, the works.

Now it all comes down how good is the sotry.

  • I can see why some claim this movie will open old wounds, the effects are spectacular. Have an old WW2 navy vet watch this clip.

Said: "Goddamit, to f** realistic " & walked out of my house. I think I made him upset.

He doesn't talk much about it.

  • このBGMは甲殻機動隊?

  • the kamikaze attack were absolute madness, they almost never succeded in inflicting more then damage to the superstructure. bushido or not, there was no honour in this, a waste of men it was.

  • music by ...?

  • Malaysia was under British rule for quite some time. I am Malaysian and We were Biritish colony.

  • british colony lol brits can not hold one base outdoor from britain

  • "Though body smolders in the fields of Musashi, my Yamato spirit shall live on." - Yoshida Shoen

  • Please teach a title and an artist of this music.

  • sound track is from Ghost in Shell. track name is: flower give and fall

  • there is something in all of us ....the warrior

  • you guys really need to pick up a book now and then instead of turning on your generations idiot box. Malaysia was a french colony, indonesia was Dutch, if you think Manchuria was anything more than Japans ore source.. look up south east asia co prosperity sphere,I guess youll blame that on someone besides Japan too.. ya ya , poor Japan was so led into war.poor poor sheep that couldnt find its way

  • Malaysia was a british colony ;), Cambodia, Vietnam for example french

  • George A.Custer is remembered as an overzealous commander who stepped in mor than he could wipe off his shoe, he is not so much a hero as a curiousity of what not to do in combat. all are heroes who fight for their homeland, dont be pissed you lost and blame the victors.THE JAPANESE NATION IS STILL ON THIS EARTH BY THE GRACE OF GOD AND THE BENEVOLENCE OF THE ALLIES

  • So Japan is "still on this Earth" by "the benevolence of the allies" ....well, Manchuria, Indonesia, malaysia & all countries Japan colonized are also on this earth? Is it "benevolence of allies" or "bad bad Kim Jong Il" in North side which made allies "kind" to Japan?

I am not blaming anyone or "pissed" lol. I am just trying to steer away from this "light side & dark side" crap. Allies did as much as Axis.

Good 4 US&A , CCCP & UK Forces that they won.

  • TYPO: "bad bad Kim Jong Il" (I meant to say Kim Il Sung).

  • No.

    The Body is Nothing.

The Japanese will live forever in spirit.

No Atomic bombs can defeat the eternity of the Glory.

  • 3 things Nanking, purposeful biologic testing and the Phillipines. My Nippon friend are worth apologising for. As for your decided arrogance of the IJF, you had damn well better learn to fight again. there is a Korean dagger at your neck. I will apologise for the bombs, sorry you have a raceinstead of the Alllies giving what would be left of Japan to China

  • For the love of all things holy please leave politicals out of a war showing a vid about kamikaze PILOTS. Not like "Allies" were knight's in shining armour. In South Asian colonies, British Govt was using policy of diverting 100% agro to WWII effort (we starved) & also did BS like yank girls out of villages & force them into prostitution by hordes.

And IJA armed resistance fighters there & refuged civilians. My grandpa was IJA foreign legion vet. U act as if only Japan needs to apologize....

  • it's good the song. i like it very much.

tell me whats the name of song? who's singing?

  • it's from the ghost in shell soundtrack

  • thank you I appreciated it.

  • Don't forget the atomic bomb was used "in" the war. It obviously helped to stop the war, so as to prevent annihilation of a human race.

  • Kamikaze attack should never be justified. It's not the way to defend anything.

  • atomic bombs should never be justified. It's not the way to "save lives".

  • Kamikaze plane is a human bomb, which kills even its own pilot. Atomic bomb was used to save lives of not only American soldiers but Japanese people who were forced to be ready to fight "until everyone dies."

  • don't EVER say the atomic bomb helped save Japanese lives - what about the poor men, women and children of Hiroshima and Nagasaki? I guess we just forget the fact that america MURDERED them just like Hitler murdered the Jews? also, Japan was in no position to "annihilate the human race" by 1945, so if america had accepted the conditional surrender (no changes to political system), then no a-bombs would be needed. but no, americans were mass murderers, and iraqis will tell you they still are.

  • If they ended up with conditional surrender and was allowed to keep colonies, sufferings of people in the region must have continued and even worsened. I don't deny the A-bomb is ultimate weapon of mass destruction and should be.avoided from use. But in the hell of war where killing continued, the bomb was used for once(actually twice) - to shorten the senseless war promoted by Japan

  • What about Japan's raping murders of Nanking China, Manchuria Korea and throughout SE Asia? Weren't Japanese already seasoned practitioners of mass murder of innocent? please don't make unfair claim and distort the history. They brainwashed people with ideology of "death in honor: Jade-shattering." which means no less than mass suicidal attack by army and all population.

  • were the people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki the ones who committed all those crimes? No they were not - they were innocent men, women and children. I honestly don't give a damn how america justified what they did - they killed people who had done NOTHING, and for you to equate the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to those who committed the war crimes is a distortion of history and a blatant disregard for the facts. the A-bombs were MASS MURDER and america is no better than Nazi Germany.

  • You cling to only one thing- Hiroshima was mass murder. I absolutely agree with you. As I said I don't deny its horrible effect. But don't ignore mass killing was to contine even without using the bomb. You equate America with Nazi Germany, then why do you keep EXCLUDING Imperial Japan? was it morally superior? If you want to see the true effect of Abomb, just look at postwar Japan. See how they prospered under american rule and support of democracy, while Emperor was allowed to stay in throne.

  • Remember how Japanese received and treated MacArthur after the war? As if he was their God if not national hero. Japan built peace shrine in Hiroshima but strangely enough, any truthful peace movement was never materialized in Japan. Only victimizing of self. What you need to do is persuading for peace, not angrily condemning the bombing. You owe peace to the world. In peacetime Japan sold goods and became richer than ever, through korean and Vietnam war, while other people kept bleeding.

  • it is a common misconception that Japan surrendered as a direct result of the a-bombs.

a few days after the last a-bomb the US carried out their last bombing mission, the oil refinery at Akita. That was Japans last oil refinery.

    After this, Japan surrendered

I dont believe that the a-bomb saved any lives, not in the pacific war at least. perhaps only afterwards in the cold war, when people truly knew the devastating effects

  • You are completely wrong.

  • the bombs was rushed while the japs were talking of surrendering. USA needed an excuse to showcase their weapon, japan was perfect. The goal was to show the world, especially Russia, that they were the most powerful at the cost of innocent japs. USA would of been fine invading Japan, they were battle hardened and ready for the slaughter

  • It was Japan that was ready for slaughter. "玉碎" was the word romanticizing the mass suicide of 'innocent' people, just as kamikaze was an idealized expression of hopeless suicidal attack.

  • kamikaze did work, but it wasn't entirely effective. only 30% of the planes hit their targets. they did do alot of damage and one plane killed 1000 people on an aircraft carrier

  • What do you want to make claim? It's shocking to read your repeating propaganda: because you sound just like Imperial General Headquarters( 大本營) of Japan in 1945. Ghost of war, never apologizes on the atrocity it ever caused. You only regret about the defeat. Sadly, people like you never learn the lesson. You don't deserve peace.

  • wow.

What do you think of the fact that even US navy, army and air force officers have made official visits to Yasukuni shrine many times. in Yasukuni, you must say, "Ghost of war" is enshrined tho.

  • So you are one of those who worship war gods (軍神)? World must be a better place without those ghosts.

  • ??? Im not following you.

My question to you was not answered.

  • Visitng the shrine can be a part of gesture for peaceful reconciliation (if not for sightseeing), which is different from paying respect. They know many war criminals are being enshrined there. And that's why sensible people from all over the world regard the shrine as unhealthy, extremly chauvinistic way of justifying war crimes. Now please answer my prvious question.

  • All the way to Yasukuni for peaceful reconciliation? Well, I thought you would say like "those officers must be Neonazi chanting 14/88". It's like whatever americans do is definetely right from your eyes. Dont get me wrong, Japan has no grudge against the US.

and my answer is YES I AM. My grandfather and his brother as well as kamikaze pilots are enshrined there and I ve been to Yasukuni. I pay homage to them. If you want to raze the shrine, sorry, Dont bet on us. we never do.

  • After the war, Germany and Japan went different way in looking at the past experience. Japan never properly made apology to neighboring nations, while Germany keeps confessing and cleansing sinfulness in their actions. History repeats itself, because you forget the lesson. You may want to be enshrined there following your ancesters. But it will come only as a consequence of horrible stupidity called war.

  • the likes of you will say "Japan never properly made apology to neighboring nations" forever in order to bum money from Japan and to make us keep our own heads down. I found your knowledge about Germany and the treaties between Japan and the neighboring countries after WW2 was poor.

  • You wish to educate me? That'd be fine. However, inviting me or anyone to the shrine of over 2million ghosts surely won't help as enlightening experience. What good the nationalistic arrogance will bring in? Only disaster.

  • I dont intend to educate you because, as you see, English is not my first language. If you spoke Japanese, I would educate you as far as to make you fed up. besides, I know your take on Japan and Japaneses is "Shut up loser, Everything is a winner-take-all competition" type. You keep on saying that Japan didnt apologize nor compensate for anything and the shrine is evil. that is fine.

  • Honestly I respect your patriotism and I also admire the valor of kamikaze pilots. But from historical viewpoint, there's danger of self-centered, narrow-minded perspective. You are not granted any rights for inflicting pain in other people's lives. Yasukuni shrine remains as the symbol of collective psyche of selfishness, as long as japan keeps eyes shut on her wrongdoings during wartime.

  • You accuse Japan of "keeping her eyes shut on wrongdoings" but then no apology from Allied bombings of Dresden, Germany, Hiroshima and Nagazaki, Japan. Not to mention Allied countries virtually STARVING ENTIRE COLONIES to fuel their WW2 effort.

Why do people only expect Japan to apologize and act as if WWII is a star wars episode of light side vs dark side?

  • Yasukuni shrine is a place where people who fought for Japan are laid to rest just like ARlington cemetary @ USA. Except Yasukuni is a shrine so more rituals & rites nothing more :)

Even in USA generals who contributed to the genocide of native American peoples to a mere 2% of total USA pop. today today are honored as "heroes" and "historical champion's" General Custer comes to mind.

There are also anti colonial heroes like SC Bose laid to rest in Yasukuni not just "Tojo's goons"

  • i'm not propagating anything. i don't deserve peace, okay......

  • That's not ok. You'd better start working for peace, instead of making comparison on who made more damages to whom. That's what I wanted to point out...

  • we all deserve peace and this video is awesome. You did great.

  • hey man, dont apologize to the uninformed, I will refuse to do so to a generation that has a 2 min attention span and have never looked into anything of worth. hold your head high you have complete thoughts, not the pablum they are eating

  • i really want to see this. Its definatle yan epic masterpiece

  • salute to kamikaze pilots who tried to protect my country for life...

  • Captain Nomura, hey I just wanted to thank you for a good dialogue on utube that didnt become a personal attack, genuinely thought out and with respect on the part of both parties. I think this is the first one I have had here

  • Hey, thank you zempke. I was raised under two cultures with heavy military backgound on both sides so it was easier for me to see the war from equal view. It's good to know that there are many others with equal vision of not seeing from just one side. Maybe we'll have less wars that way.

  • even by those standards that equates to one US life per 1.1 planes and pilots(albeit not that well trained), horrible ratios by any standard. not to mention the production of planes that could have been better used in mass against an invasion force. also, the sustainability of throwing lives literally into the wind. the US was building a ship a month in 43, by 44 we were putting those numbers in warships out. kamakazi was a futile effort to give peace of mind to generals who were afraid 2 fight

  • Yes, it was a futile effort and many leaders encourage it to save themselves but many Japanese were so determined to fight back by any means that even a suggestion of giving up could've caused a civil war.

  • the biggest reason the kamakazi failed was the US use of radar fused flak, it had nothing to do with accuracy, if the shell got close it worked. and yes the hien was successful, its first combat flight was on the doolittle raid, it was a worthy opponent of the f4u, p51 and p47, wich it came up against in New Guinea, parts were another problem, strangled supply lines kept more out of action than combat losses

  • Yes, the US use of proxi-fused shells and narrow band radar, which the Japanese didn't have on their ships greatly helped to tip the balance in US favor. Stll many many shells missed. Of 4000 Kamikazes sent, over 33 ships sunk, hundreds damaged and 5000 American lives lost, Fortunately for US, Japan couldn't prepare enough planes.

  • Fortunately for Japanese pilots and their families too.

  • I agree.

  • The carrier looks British, which would've sucked for the Japanese because most of them were armored.

You also have to give a lot of credit for the American ship gunners, they were given a tough situation, either you die or they die.

  • Good music always enhaunces the battlescene and this version is pretty good,

  • Japan lost that war because they lacked the American industrial might. America lost Vietnam War because they lacked the political brains to win.

  • Ki61 Hein- aka "Kikka" was a terrible aircraft, crappy materials. And example of incredable jet potential the Japanese Yokosuka Ohka suicide rocket aircraft.

  • Yes, I agree completely agree with you, the Ohka had potential but the "Betty" carrier planes where awful. As for the "Kikka" yeah, just a copy of the Me-262.

  • Hien is not a Kikka. Hien was made by Kawasaki. Nakajima Kikka was designed as a suicide jet as a smaller version of the Me-262.

  • Actually Nakajima Kikka (proper Japanese spelling is Kitsuka) was a much better suicide designed aircraft than the Ohka. It was almost as fast, far better range, no need for carrier aircraft and can dogfight if the optional cannons were mounted. It was even better than the jet version of the Ohka.

  • the ki 61 did have a liscense built db601 engine but the design was totally IJA, it came in the war around early 43 and was the only front line fighter with an inline engine, Allied nickname "tony" because on introduction it was mistaken for a Italian plane (macchi 202)

  • True but Kawasaki made a mistake when they lightened the DB601 design, which performed well but was less reliable. They should've left the design alone but maintaining the unfamiliar watercooling feature may still caused problems.

  • valiant pilot all young , the yazukuni spirit never die in the heart the samuray japanise

  • WWII looks more intense from here.

  • i don`t see any hayates in this film. just about 8 ki-43 and 2 ki-61 as escort planes

  • I'm sorry, what movie is this? It looks fascinating.

  • ore kimi

  • great looking movie, great music background...was it the soundtrack of the movie? it gave me a feeling like watching Ghost in the Cell

  • no it wasn't the soundtrack of the movie, Ghost in Shell has really good sountrack and so i put it in here to match the vid.

  • the f6fs massacred a lot of those oscars and franks even before they damaged a single carrier

  • i thought nakajima ki61 tony hien is a twin engine fighter bomber unsuitable for kamikaze

  • look up the ki-61 online, it's a fighter plane.

  • The Hien was built by Kawasaki (they built fighter planes before motorcycles) and was designated the Ki-61 Hien(Tony). The Hien was one of just a few liquid cooled, inline engine, Japanese fighters of the war.

  • Kawasaki built the Ki61 Hein. The Hein was a Japanese version of the Me109. I do believe that Germany shared this technology via license w/Japan. Absolutely beautiful aircraft regardless.

  • No, just the engine.

  • With a Hellcat on your six, life ain't so good.

  • what is this music?

    i like this video:)

  • brave, desperate, crazy stuff.

  • hey could you send that vid to me or tell me what's the film's title and where can i find it?

I always love these kind animations

  • the name of the film is Ore-kimi

  • oh....whoops, but where can i get it?

  • Try searching for 'For Those We Love'. You can get it at Amazon or other dvd stores like yesasia or cdjapan, altough I'm not sure if the japanese version has english subs.
