  • He doesn't have a good grip either the outside fingers should be pressing against the rim instead of clinched into your hand.

  • the best thing about this video is that the top comment led me to the best ultimate channel on youtube, brodiesmith21

  • @iSteveFarra the title says how to "make" a hammer throw, not how to hammer

  • h ttp://thekenblo.minitroopers.fr laul

  • Very impressive hammer throw there... making such accurate throws with that technique is very commendable. :)

  • he is my social studies teacher o.o

  • that's my social studies teacher LOL

  • Holy crap...that's my Social Studies teacher o-o

  • oh my god... thats... my track coach O.O

  • he talks so awkwardly lol but nice vid

  • @Hatetotiewords not only does it go over the one person guarding you but also over anyone who thinks they can jump for it

  • @Hatetotiewords lmfao

  • Subscribe to brodiesmith21 to get the most helpful and accurate tips for all aspects of ultimate by a 2x college national champion

  • check out ultimate spinnerdisk. the newest and latest improvement in ultimate frisbee. Say goodbye to flat discs. Imagine the potential to change the game and make it faster. catch it spinning in your hand!!!!

  • Yeah, that totally explained how to hammer....

  • The guy not talking had the prettiest hammer probably. But both of you had good form, don't take any criticism from people on youtube. It wasn't an indepth video, but it doesn't need to be.

  • Fag

  • This doesn't teach how to throw a hammer at all..

What I would recommend for anyone trying to learn the hammer is practice short hammers and focus entirely on the wrist flick, which is what stabilizes the disc. Once you can consistently throw a stable short-ranged hammer, then work on putting more of your arm and body into the throw.

And as with any throw, never sacrifice mechanics for range. If you try to throw it farther than you know you can, the throw will end up very ugly.

  • Terrible hammer...

  • how do you keep it level upside down mine keep turning over and falling to the ground

  • @snorlaxxx23 it takes time to learn, but one thing u cant do is try to throw it further than ur capable. if you try to throw it to hard it becomes unbalanced and tilts back. check out my channel i have a video on it

  • @laikhambrgr go to youtube.com/watch?v=Z_vqzsSey7E

    ...and suck it.

  • whooow.. it nice throw.. im gonna learn it ;-)

  • ...dang there are soo many types of throws its insane

  • @1stAjay Not really just forehand (flick), backhand, and hammer are used the most. the others are just for show.

  • @MrIJustWatch The scoober is also a throw used at high levels. And although I would never really do it, a push pass can come in handy too. Everything else is pretty much useless/for show/only for a greatest.

  • Also if you grip the frisbee with the thumb on the inside and middle finger on the top edge you can do a more accurate hammer throw that is more simple for beginners

  • WTF it's hard! i cant aim! but thx for the help!

  • @Nadavo9 Throw it to the left and it should curve back right, takes a lotta practice haha

  • @Feltlikedoing thanks!!! I am starting to get it, and it is really usefull

  • Ill try that but it will take me a while to become accurate with that

  • We call this an upside-down. The hammer is more straight forward and doesn't bend when in the air. So basically it's an upside, but you hold it straight.

  • actually a hammer turns over and bends in the air. you're talking about a blade. you throw the disc so that it's vertical. it comes down fast, but is hard to catch and fairly inconsistent.

  • @xXcRENzXx So you changed it's name. Doesn't make it any different. In belgium everyone knows the upside. Blade is the vampire movie.

  • hey anyone got a pointer on doing flick throws cuz when i do min ei either dont have enough power or enough accauracy

  • Throw the frisbee parallel or downward on the ground. Snap your wrist and release when your fingers are pointing at your target.

  • It's all in your wrist and forearm, but more of your wrist. Lean like he is showing in this video also and flick your wrist and your finger under the disc for as much spin as possible. Keep the dick level also. Once you can flick accurately then go for power.

  • IIKeRsEyII: thanks for the help! i make sure i keep my dick level all the time. haven't missed a throw since. :P

  • I have no clue how I said dick, lol.

I must have had dick on my mind. :P

  • @IIKeRsEyII haha, you said dick

  • @froznf11re when did he say dick

  • @MegaCoolkiller not the guy in the video, i was talking to one of the commenters

  • @XxSkElToNxX if you can spin your body as you do the flick it gives you a little extra power to get that extra distance

  • Ultimate frisbee is awesome. You need the agility in a baseball game, the defense in a basketball game, the power in a football game, and the speed in a soccer game.

  • tru dat i joined my schools team thinking you no fun and stuff and yea its really intense

  • Yep. 2 sides. 2 Endzones (like football) if you have posession of the frisbee you can't move. if you pass the frisbee to your team mate and the opposing team smacks it down, its a turn over. if the frisbee lands on the ground, it's a turn over. If you catch it while in the endzone, you score. The team that didn't score receives the disc kinda like a kickoff in football. you can run up to the opponent that has the disc and count to 10 while trying to guard him like in basketball. (10=turnover)

  • lol be easy on me for thhis question...Is frisbee actually a game?

  • ITS A SPORT!!!!!!!!

  • this is such a bad instructional video.. they don't even show how to grip it...

  • They said flick grip...... which is correct, what more do you need

  • guess n check

  • It isn't the most useful, I believe it is one of the least useful for the average player, because it is so hard to get stable, and so hard to catch. If you are just playing pick up games with your friends, the backhand and the flick throws are all you really need. however it can be useful if you are playing with a 10 second count and you need to get rid of the disc fast.

  • that's not 'crazy accurate', lol that's normal from a 1/3 of the field.

now if he hit a man in the chest from almost the other end line... that's an impressive hammer.

  • nice accuracy

  • love hammer

  • That's crazy accurate.

  • nice video

    very helpfull

  • sweet thanks for the tip

  • Never knew that there was an acutal technique
