  • How can one think of such beautiful lynics like Stevie, I'm a conga drummer, put on this track and

    I play my ass off.

  • Can never get enough of this song!

  • Amazing. Wonderful. Wondrous. Brilliant. Inspirational. Fantastic. (no, I'm not talking about Tim Tebow either)

  • im fifteen years old and i love lil wayne drake and all those other rappers. my favorite genre is hiphop. i dont like old artist but i heard this song and " As Always" , i fell in love ! i LOVE this song and i LOVE stevie wonder <3

  • I love this song, and I also love Caron Wheeler's version. Someone post her verstion as well!!!

  • He's the best of the best. He sees more than the sighted. How can anyone say anything bad about this man. I was blessed to be able to see him twice in concert.

"Did you know that true love asks for nothing"? Steve Wonder

  • Que sorte a sua!!!

  • Every time I listen to this song, I can't help but get up ,dance and turn into a wild beast of an animal! It strikes the primal chord in all of us! How animalistic!

  • This song can definately stand alone, no doubt. But taken as a whole when you first listen to "As" and then this you get the full message. "As" is about a never ending cosmic love and then it's followed by "Another Star". A cosmic celebration of a love lost. The same love sung about in "As". Why is it a celebration? Because it should be. You should take all the good you felt in the everlasting love and continue it. It can only help you when you ready to love agian. The GENIUS of Stevie Wonder :)

  • It's morning somewhere in the world, I'm dancing, can't stop.

This is a celebration of life, it has the power of Love all over, fantastic... thanks for the opening, Stevie

  • LA LA LA LA LA LOVE STEVIE WONDER FOREVER! GENIUS, SPECTACULAR MUSIC!

  • Lyrics (part 1) La la la la la la la la la la (x 4) For you - there might be a brighter star But through my eyes the light of you is all I see For you - there might be another song But all my heart can hear is your melody So long ago my heart without demanding Informed me that no other love could do But listen did I not know understanding I fell in love with one who would break my heart in two cont/....
  • GOTTA LOVE !!!!

  • This song is so groovy, and just makes me smile real big as I listen to it:)

  • Can anybody touch Stevie Wonder? Don't think so! EVERY song off this album touches you. You either on your feet dancing or hand held to your chest from the onslaught of emotion.

  • @Harper12967 shhhush plz, thnx

    Simon Cowell.

  • This is what i want at my last place I see in my life cus you dont want it to end my al time fav

  • When stevie starts singing on this one it's crazy

  • @BlueMagicHoodini you got that right. Plus that, he makes us take the trip right with him!! : )

  • This was my hidden treasure from the Songs from the Key of Life. I would not let the Album rest until I heard this and made everyone see that this was actually the 'star' of that great, great album. It is so melodic with beautiful lyrics not to mention tempo. I tell ya, Stevie is truly genius and has never done a song that I didn't like. Bless him. And thanks for posting.

  • Just refering to her style not comparing her as an artist like too many people do now days. Listen to early Mary and then the part on Another Star when Stevie drags "So Long ago my heart without demanding."

  • Chadcas: Mary J Blige was definately not singing on this song...she was probably in kindergarten when it was released...

  • Mary J was just a baby when this was recorded.... or who knows if she was even born yet

  • Does anybody hear Mary J. Blige here?.... listen very closely.

  • @chadcas If you listen close enough you can hear anyone you care to imagine who released a tune 20 years after this album came out.

  • geweldige artiest.vind het altijd zo ontzettend knap hoe iemand zo een goed nummer kan componeren en met zoveel emotie uitvoert.krijg er kippenvel van en een brok in mijn keel.supermuziek!!!

  • after listening to numerous tracks of this album, I went to amazon.com and bought it LOVED it THAT much (thank you to my wife for turning me on to SW)

  • MICHAEL jACKSON BROUGHT ME HERE.

  • I dance to this just about everyday, talk about getting shape fast!!

  • Try not to make a move while listening to this song. It's impossible. Makes me wanna dance throughout the eternity with this tune as my soundtrack.

  • omg I love this song! I'm used to listening to it on the radio, this is awesome! Takes me to a different state ofmind

  • Truly a work of art, a masterpiece, a symbol of great genius.

  • Nearly identical bass backbone as Santana's "TOUSAINT L'OVERTURE" from Santana III LP in early '70s. Not so much in first couple minutes of the Santana song, but at the 3:42 mark of it you'll start to hear it through to the end.

  • Darth you type anyway you want, it's YOUR thing. Anybody that does not like it don't read it. What land of the free until it up sets you? PLAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!

  • Stevie energy always brings me to back to my Peaceful Place.

  • aw man, im bout to cry... my mom would play this whole album on road trips to go see my grandmother.... im so glad she raised me on classics like this so that now that im 19 i can appreciate real music myself...

    RIP grandma <3

  • @Chantias That's great! I forgot how incredible this album was!

  • Incredible - I'm a Prince fan just really discovering Stevie's music. This is brilliant - it just emotes something awesome to me!

  • WHO disliked this SONG? Who doesn't know true music, love, talent and undeniable originality when they hear it? You all absolutely need some sense smacked into your tiny skulls.

This song is beautiful and genius beyond description. This whole album is complete bliss to the soul. Stevie Wonder is an absolute inspiration and musical prodigy. I'll make sure my kids, grand kids and God willing, great-grand kids KNOW this man! And appreciate him.

  • 音楽からクラシックの補助輪が取れる瞬間が録音されてる

    この曲の5:18から、ブラックミュージック、ループミュージックの聞こえ方が変わる

  • @oundabout7822 What you said.

  • I've heard the '95 version before this one, because I'm more into dancey music.

But this version just blew me away.

  • I am so glad this song came into my head just now...and thanks so much for posting it's fabulousness :)

  • I never heard a song that is so swinging(for lack of a better word)and at the same time brings tears to your eyes.By far the best Stevie Wonder song,as far as I am concerned.

  • @hildaatje totally agree on your choice of words:)

  • @hildaatje Swinging is a great word for it!

  • @Garrotte123 thank you and the other people that responded in a similar way. It seems such an old fashioned word, but I really cant think of a more modern term........and you really dont want it to end! Have a lovely holiday time!

  • @hildaatje indeed,I hope you have a lovely swinging holiday time.

That sounds like something Borat would say but what the hell the sentiments in the right place.

  • @hildaatje With all due respect, Stevie doesn't have a best song. Its impossible to single out one song as the best from his body of work. But everyone can have a favourite.

  • Bobbi Humphrey and George Benson worked on this song with Stevie? Oh, they better work! LOL

  • 15 dislikes...... this songs absolute genius.

  • @The1972Jason Those 15 people don't know real music!

  • This is the JAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @BrittanyNBrooklyn Yes, but you still type like a n|gger,

  • Fechou o Rock in Rio com esse som.

    Muito bom

  • @BrittanyNBrooklyn Even Steven Wonder listens to hiphop music. There is good music in every genre of music. As well as bad.To say there is no good Hip Hop music is extremely short sighted IMHO.With that being said you obviously have the right to listen to what you want to.But what is the point in saying you don't listen to HipHop?Are you supposed to be listening to HipHop just because you're a "Black Female" in Brooklyn? You didn't say you don't listen to Blue Grass,or Punk Rock.Y diss HipHop?

  • This is an amazing song!

  • dag, is there anything this guy can't do??

  • @BrittanyNBrooklyn You're not alone. When I was 17 back in '98, I listened to everything Stevie ON VINYL. I was probably the only one in my class who did so. I just wish I knew a girl back then who liked Stevie.

  • Those was some WONDERFUL years even though I was just a kid and didnt understand the joy of this music. Now I know and dont care for the new stuff because there was nothing wrong with the old stuff and Im happy.

  • @BrittanyNBrooklyn

    Nice one Brittany :)))))

  • I was 12 years old when I was given this album as a Birthday gift. It was my first album and I was in love with Stevie Wonder! I played this album everyday after school and I knew the words to all of the songs. I dreamed of singing this song with Stevie wonder in one of his concerts! I still pray that my wish comes true!!!!!

  • I hear this song now and I still get chills. I played this album everyday after school for 9 months. THE ENTIRE ALBUM!!!!

  • @Biggidy99 no shit ! so great ! over and over !

  • 14 people are deaf

  • @BrittanyNBrooklyn you are not the only one :P lots of people love this song thats your age I'm 28 and I love this song and old music will always be the best.

  • @BrittanyNBrooklyn

And you totally right ! Your musical tastes are flawless !

  • You know it is a good song when the eight minutes feels like two and a half.

  • I somehow overlooked this inspiring music from Stevie, thanks for posting it.

  • OMG!!!

  • The God of Music.

  • Stevie Wonder. What a statement, I believe the highest mentality in the entire universe listens to this genius. I wish more artists were available with talent such as Stevie Wonder. I have enjoyed Stevie since the 60's. Live long and love much, Stevie, we love you.

  • ah, so enjoyable! :D

  • For a great funky latin dance version of this check out 'dimitri from paris-outro lugar' its a fantastic tribute and wont besmirch the good name of Stevie. Btw did you hear about the scarecrow who got promoted? he was outstanding in his field..boom boom !

  • this is one of those songs that you don't want EVER want to end

  • @AnaruX Agreed...that's why the worst part of this song is 8:25 ♥♥

  • @BrittanyNBrooklyn Ur AWESOME LOL

  • Life affirming, perfect jazz/latino masterpiece. Love you Stevie.

  • I hated this friggin song in the fall of 1976; what a depressing joint to listen to around 8:00am on the way to school when i was a fourth grader in Garland Tx when i had to stay after school everyday for being disruptive [talking]. Go to hell miss Jones wit your fat ass!!! Lol!!!!

  • I can not get enough of this song!!

  • "Through my eyes the light of you is all i see"…. Stevie truly does see better than most of us !!!

  • Thumbs up if Studio 54 Radio on SiriusXM brought you here.

  • @DavidUSF yes yes yes sir it did

  • Thanks for sharing that with me... keep listening to Stevie.

  • This songs cuts like a knife. The lyrics are so pure, honest and true. I know couse I've lived these lyrics. I know what it feels like to love someone like this. And I truly feel ya Stevie... a classic song from a classic album.

  • @MrRonC88 i've lived these lyrics too and my star was brought a toast of wine not so long back - for me he's always been the 1.

  • wonderful artist and song !

  • I went to a concert that was unadvertised in 1979 thanks to a dear friend and stevie performed with the 100 piece Black philarmonic orchestra. He introduced the secret life of plants album. I made the statement that before I die I wanted to see him in concert. It was the mostest, bestest concert I've ever attended. Can you imagine a 100 piece orchestra. I'm still shaking my head at Stevie Wonder blessed gift from God.

  • remind me of love Stevie! This is what music sounds like.

PEOPLE! CAN WE HAVE OUR MUSIC BACK?!!!!!

  • Thanks God for Stevie!

  • @DarthBlazer23

So refreshing to read your comment.

    Congratulations to your parents.

And you, so bright to have applied their wisdom.

  • @DarthBlazer23 I like your appreciation of Stevie's music, but do you really need to type it in caps? It makes reading the message annoying.

  • @DarthBlazer23

Liked your comment. I am 42 need i say more....It good listening.

  • @BrittanyNBrooklyn Right on , girl....!! it is great to see someone your age who KNOWS good music when they hear it. I am 59 years old and wish they still released stuff like this................

  • @drumsyeah I don't think anyone is capable to release anything like this anymore. Back then, musician were true artist, like a picasso or bethoven. Today's music......don't want to comment, would be too rude. We were just lucky to be part of this era, Peace out!

  • This was recorded back in the day before they could take a drum track and loop it into a repeat. The drummer had to have it together for the entire track or one mis-beat could mean having to do the whole thing over! These were REAL musicians who worked hard, unlike many "musicians" today who rely heavily on electronic loops and distortions.

  • @thezaylady

How true.... Real musicians making real music instead of this "canned" crap we get today. Remember that this was a live recording session with a studio full of musicians. Incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @thezaylady Ah, but they dont do the things musicans today do. Electronic musicans mix and master their own music, and compose it too.

Electronic and acoustice music are both lovely, why fight? Stevie wouldn't

  • @thezaylady and stevie was the drummer, check ot the documentary..

  • @thezaylady Not exactly true. Stevie was a pioneer in many areas, also in exploring different possibilities in the studio.

  • @thezaylady Amen.

  • this cut is still strong on the Jersey club scene, timeless

  • I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH THIS CD COST....I WILL PAY FOR IT. "SONGS IN THE KEY OF LIFE" IS NOT JUST A CD IT IS A UNIVERSAL MESSAGE...TAKE HEED! IT IS MANDATORY THAT I KEEP AT LEAST TWO COPIES OF IT IN MY COLLECTION

  • @NIECIENATURALLOOKS1

i got the vinal album interested?

  • What a groove! Great tune, great songwriter.

  • 14 PEOPLE KNOW SHIT

  • absolutely amazing song!

  • Great album

  • EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How could anyone dislike this? Stevie is the epitome of soul. This tracks burns!

  • @sonofasaylor DONT FORGET FULLINinGNESS FIRST FINALE(my personal favorite)

  • @fucu41 Absolutely….my oversight.

  • God bless Stevie!!!

  • wow...this gave me chills....I wish he was still doing it like this...

  • I've listen to this unbelievable song over a thousand times and Always hear something new!

    Fucking Wow!!!!

  • I remember when this came out; didn't realize just how special it was, there was so much good music in the late 60s and 70s -- just a very creative period with many musical geniuses. Thanks Stevie for the memories!

  • This album was one of the greatest musical accomplishments in history -- a classic that still holds up to time. Incredible music.

  • This song got me through the dissolution of my marriage. Its so raw and true. It feels like he wrote this for me.

  • This song got me through the dissolution of my marriage. Its so raw and true. It feels like he wrote this for me.

  • ...questa canzone sarà sempre per me ricordo di una serata bellissima, ballare sotto la pioggia all'arena di verona con la sua musica è stato FANTASTICO. Grazie Stevie per le tue canzoni....

  • Talk about a stress reliever, boy if I wasn't at work right now I'd be dancing all over the place-this is piece of music is out of this world.. The true Musician is really a gift from God, there has not been that many in my lifetime, Stevie Wonder(ful) has got to be at the top of the list (along with my boy Michael of course). To be able to create such masterpiece of musicianship is truly magical. This is happy , joyful music at it's finest, God Bless Stevie Wonerful- a magician of sound

  • Love George Benson on this track as well!

  • i just saw Bobbi Humphrey perform with Stevie at the Apollo Theater this week. Magical. I had tears in my eyes most of the night.

  • It was a golden age for song writers. It's no surprise to me anymore to see present generation kids' jaws drop hearing what they thought was going to be "old people's music" and they're immediately hooked. They start saying how there's nothing like this today, and they're right.

  • And people believe there's no God...hmph...how do you explain Stevie then?

  • Stevie hit #32 in Billboard, 10-8-77. Love flutist Bobbi Humphrey's solo on it. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • why can't we have more music like this...i'm tired of all the crap we have these days that isn't even real music, this is the true 'heaven' of music what we have now is the 'hell' of music

  • @sovietrussiaanton THANK THE PERSONS WHO INVENTED YOUTUBE NOW YOU CAN LISTEN TO REAL MUSIC ANYTIME YOU WANT!!!!!!!!!!

  • genio1

  • Doesn't get much better than that.

  • it's my first time heard this version, this is amazing!

  • @middle327 You should find a way to get the whole album then. There isn't one song in the two album set that isn't as close to perfection as one could possibly hope to get.

Sincerely, 'That Dude' [President of the anti-Ghetto Space Music Association]

  • Nice Stevie nice....

  • So genius..God Bless you Stevie

  • Tripping in 1980. I made my pal for the night watch the ceiling light spin and listen to Songs In The Key of Life and proclaimed Stevie Wonder--God. Lol! He probably had something else in mind.
