I think that depends on what game programming platform you are using. The hardest part for me would be to get all math working. But if you have chosen a really good platform then most tricky calculation are wrapped up in small functions / classes. If you look at the events and actions in construct then what you see is actually a programming script but the script is very point and click integrated and easy to understand.
