Don't mean to sound like an ass or anything but I agree with the others...There's just no way that women can effectively compete in this sport, unless they are ripped! The female body structure is just too weak to withstand some of these hits! You will get torn to shreds, your bones will break, or worse! This sport is all about being able to take a hard hit and recover from it..I'm sure that's why they decided to have a men-only jousting tournament.
No offense but i dont think you get what this is, this stuff is full contact, its like boxing or another very heavy contact sport, very dangerous, and horse handling doesnt get you very far, its about being able to take the hit...
It's not going to kill her, yes woman's bodies aren't made to withstand things men can, but this is modern day. Women need to worry about their breasts, and they need to work out in order to create a muscle layer over their chest. This in time will diminish their breasts and turn it into muscle. They can also create a fatty layer over their body to create cushioning.
By the way, Regis is very beautiful. It looks like you take good care of your horses.
@battlehardened37 yes and no, I really work in the high-tech world; this is my way of getting away from the computer. I haven't worn that outfit in years, it was roting away as I was filming this... well rottting clothing, that's Medieval, lol.
@VermilionMage Everyday I work hard at my job and care for my horses. I am the secret "champion" of the huge state forest wher I live. The Full Metal Jousting show asked for females. In the Olympics, equestrian events are a mix-gender competition, I don't know what they really wanted. But, the show looks very agressive and might not be about the art of Medieval Chivalry. The modern twist is great, but I'd end up loking like IronMan comic, hummmm...
Love that white & Black Horse "Regis" he they look real steady in the Gait due to there extra strength no doubt I mean they look stronger than Quarter Horses they look stronger and steadier I mean
@TheCapricorn6 Thank you, they are very smooth to ride. When I first bought Tacoma, the black one, I though they will be difficult, but no, a big couch. Personally, the horses are probably the safest part of this jousting competition.
@TheHallzySquad Thank you so much. I work hard, as you know to take care of these three big Percherons. They are very smooth to ride and the easiest type of horse to train that I have owned. Although, all horses are wonderful! So, I will probably always continue to have Percherons to ride, and eventually a nice Bactrian camel, they are fantastic, too. Camels just have a great memory like mules.
@TheHallzySquad The competition said open to all, and there were several comments that the guys would love to see women joust, too. I thought the show would be a series of Medieval tasks and talents culminating in a joust. Believe me, when I was younger I was thrown into many fences in jumping competitions.
@TheHallzySquad And, I also assumed that part of the competition would involve knowledge, training and more subtle horsemanship through the event to show overall skills. yes, I'd probably get fucked up, but a lower center of gravity combined with the heaviest horse... maybe some physics would be on my side. In the Olympics, equestrian events are a mix-gender competition, I think possibly the only events that can have both men and woman compete.
@Therealmix0pera There were many initial comments during the show production that the audience wanted to see women joust, too. Don't worry, I have felt pain.
percheroneclipse: Even the medieval times had some kind of fly spray! ! Who are "the professional ringers in this competition? " that you mention? I think the other potential competitors would like to know. Here's hoping the selection committee has an open mind . Luck!
@TheRoxia I am commenting on the people who ride and perform professionally at medieval events, I sit at a computer all day in an office, my opportunity to joust and ride professionally on a daily basis is of course, null. I do try to travel and ride in exotic locations, but that is all I can do to prepare. There are amazing personalities out there who are very camera ready and do know the industry.
@lochdoo I have found the Percheron draft horse the easiest to train – smart, not spooky and patient. I rode Buddy today, although basically never ridden, he was very good.
Thanks, there are some professional ringers in this competition who ride professionally, a bit pompous, too, that's reality TV for you. Well, I look mild, but watch out! At least I honestly appreciate my large draft horses and ride in all the correct saddles. Tacoma, the black percheron; he is great. I had to keep the video short. Regis is the most flashy for film. I enjoy them all.
@MrMrthewalker You have ridden Tacoma? I do don't recognize you on YouTube. Tacoma is a bit old now for a large draught, but he is still strong and focused.
I have riden a Perch myself. She was owned by a city owned equestrian center.

she's going to get killed
woman simply do not have the same bodies as men, no amount of training can change Biology.

Strange that they "asked for females" and then didn't cast any. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Interesting.
