@sobr32xiswcp No, you can not take this to a piano class. Any piano which is only a MIDI-Controller, has to be connected to a computer to work. Since this is the only piano i have ever own, i can not recommend you any.

@AbrahamGarM If its a Midi Keyboard, it should be compatible with FL Studio, Ableton, Reason, Cubase, ect.

@AbrahamGarM You can try demos of the different programs. But these programs are not for free, so you have to either buy it, or download the demo tro try them out, to see which fits you the best. These programs are also called "DAW" so you could try to google "Free DAW" I find something called Reaper, that is free, and you can check out :)

i want to switch between the channels in the pattern mode with

my axiom 49 (i guess it's nearly the same in midi learn function

as your oxygen) without touching/using the mouse.

not only going up and down.

i.e. the button under slider 1 for the first channel in the pattern (i.e. massive) the button under slider 2 for the 2nd channel in the pattern (i.e. FM7) and so on.. and want to jump from channel 1 to 3 etc help plz :(

Just to let you guys know fl10 has an oxygen preset. also, the step sequencer responds to program change messages if you want to switch generators. For example, if you are on the first step sequencer channel and your oxygen is in program mode, pressing the + and - buttons will scroll up and down thru the plugins. I wish fl studio would be a little more clear and to the point in their manual about midi setup but for now u just gotta play around with it and see how it responds to different messag

@fopchinees You can reset the settings if my tutorial here screwed it up. But you have to make sure you dont touch anything else than the controller you want to link.

@HaatoSK It should work the same, though they keys you have to press must be the right ones. Since you keyboard is larger. Look for the ChanAssign, and the numbers, enter. ect. You can see that, if you look over the keys, look for the words.

@HaatoSK As far as i know, it is not possible within FL Studio. Though if you are using other software like, Ableton live, Cubase or Protools. Then you can use "DirectLink". Its a feature that links everything automatic, but DirectLink is not compatible with FL Studio, and haven't been for a long time. I'll let you know if i find out, as i would love too move around patters with the keyboard :)

I have a few questions. 1 is there a button that allows you to switch your control setup quickly instead of constantly reasigning them. 2 Every time i plug any midi controller into my compute fl studio recognizes it but never recognizes the name. it just says something like midi controller 1 or midi controller 2 etc. How do i fix that?

@jeronimo2k9 Hmm, have you tried other than the "Primary Sound"? Are you using Windows 7, and accedently have disabled the sound on FL Studio? (left-click on the speaker ikon to the bottom right, click mixer, search for FL Studio, and make sure it is not muted. FL Studio has to be open while doing this).

If these things does not work either, try contact Image-Line(Creators of FL Studio).

@TheMoesWanted If you play anything like the default "Kick" with your computer keyboard, does it make a sound? (Middle C, is "Q" on the keyboard).

If not: you have to check on your audio settings, if this still wont work, contact me again.

For audio settings: Options > Audio settings > At the top, look for "Input / Output", make sure it is using the right soundcard/driver. If you use ASIO4ALL, remember to close any program, before launching FL Studio.

Is it plugged into the PC? (Listen for the USB sound)

If any driver came with it, install.

Check if its compatible with FL Studio.

Thats what i can think of. Else try contact M-Audio and/or Image Line(Creators of FL Studio).

@DukeLarge No, its a MIDI controller. So the keyboard does not have any sound at all.

If you but a pluging, or VST plugin, into FL Studio, Ableton Live, Reason Propellerhead, ect. Then the keyboard will play the plugin, wether its a synth, piano, guitar, trumpet.

In FL Studio, you can just choose any plugin, like a Piano. Guitar(really), flutes, or any VST you've got.

Like i do at 1:06, i choose a piano plugin, and then i can just play with it right away. :)

@kaare1992 okay, well I am using Pro Tools Essentials and I only get a total of 64 different sounds. It I spent 250 for Pro Tools 8, I still would only have 70 different sounds. :( So do you know the total of sounds this program has?

Well, you can buy sounds (Though I'm not sure about Pro Tools).

"native-instruments . com" has a lot of instrument packs, etc. I can then load this into FL Studio and play all its instruments, or synths, or whatever the packs contains.

@lukajodeci You can't. But when you have assigned everything, you can save it, to a default file. And then every time you open up FL Studio, just open that file, and all your assignments are saved.

First: Do you have a good CPU?

Second: Try follow this:

Up in the left corner, click on the "Options" menu >

Click "Audio Settings" >

Look for "DirectSound properties" >

Then there should be a slider named "Buffer length: **** samples (**ms)" >

Then you just right click on the slider, and it should reset to the properties fitting your computer best.

Then just close the options menu, and try.

@jmteixeira1 No, this is not a keyboard in the traditional sense. It's a MIDI keyboard used to control synths and such. When used with a program like FL Studio, it is possible to create any sounds you wish using synths (VST) and what have you.

Or the shop you bough the keyboard at?

If its a hardware failure, then they maybe will change it to a new one.

Else, i believe you can reset your keyboard, try read the manual and see if it helps resetting it.

Click on the first link to M-Audio's website.

And then click on the "Interactive Tour" button, for more details about the piano.

@omarnagib09 The only thing that works out of the box is the keys only.

You can then assign the sliders and the knobs.

And follow this tutorial to get the transport keys to work(Play, pause, stop, ect.)

Others "Not-Assignable" buttons does not work in FL Studio, But might work in other tools like, Reason, Ableton Live, Pro Tools. Because theres a tool you can download of M-Audios website, called, Directlink. So you can get everything on the keyboard to work on the compatible softwares. Not FL.

@snake786123 No, but you can just bring up the piano roll by right clicking on the activated instrument you are playing with, and click Piano Roll.

And you can play all the instruments you have in the patterns.

Like in the video at the start, i have as default:

Kick (The green light at the right, indicates that this instrument is activated, and when i play on my keyboard it will play the kick).

Clap (There is no green light, so this Clap is not played when i press a key on my keyboard.)

What operating system do you have? I've heard that the Oxygen won't work(or is a pain to get working) on Windows 7.

@bmxisforme I have Win7 32-bit, and it works just fine, with no pain. I plugged it in, installed a bunch of drivers, went to FL Studio, and it worked right away.
