  • Swan and Gillard classic cases of promoted beyond their level of competence. This clown couldn't run a milkbar

  • The people of australia want no carbon tax. Please do what they want.

  • Raving lunatic is a excellent description of Kroger.

  • ah who the fuck is Michael Kroger for one

I'd never even heard of that guy before

  • Good to see someone stick it up the arsewipe in Wayne Swan, who could well lose his seat at the next election! I wouldn't trust Swan with monopoly money!

  • @colonel2397

    KAP.

  • Michael Kroger is an asshole. He was completley rude and undiginfied the way he talked to Swan. He also got a high and powerful job running the ABC and can take large responsiblty with him and his right win cronie freinds such Janet Albertsten for wrecking the ABC. These people don't believe in fair and balance reporting they have a born to rule mentality and his fake Indignation and arrogrance in this clip is proof of that.

  • Michael Kroger is a brilliant man, with well thought out ideas, his manners and demeanor are exceptional, what a good bloke. It's a shame he never ran for office, he'd be elected in a heart beat. Who wouldn't want him as their MP. Barnaby's also a very clever man, some people think he's a boof head, clearly he's not. Hopefully he runs for a seat in the House of Reps soon.

  • lol, Karls reaction at 0:52.

  • I am so worried about the state of Australia under this light weight treasurer it is truly scary.

  • KROGER OWNED THAT LIBTARD.I wish the socalled media in the U.S. would grow a pair and go after the libs over here.

  • i know krogers son

  • @richspur2004

Your an absolute fool for thinking that Peter Costello was otherwise, tax reform was not just a huge policy focus for the liberal party but ultimately a successful movement for the country, seeing the return of the federal budget to surplus, and your idiots for believing his reforms are the cause for the high inflation pressures. For the majority of his term as treasurer unemployment, inflation and interest rates remained low.

  • Swan you are an absolute joke. The look on Costello's face says it all.

  • @Wallabytrack Ha the red flag waving moron has such little knowledge of politics that he thinks he and his inept party have had a win... Moron we all lost and in few months you will see what a pile of shit this minor govt will be ... Yawn to you ya braindead bogan.

  • I think i love michael kroger, haha. I was speechless how happy i was when i watched this live :)

  • Michael Kroger you rock

  • Costello wiped 92 Billion dollars off the Hawke Keating debt, leaving 20 Billion in the bank only 2 have KRUDD put us in more debt than ever 4 his Stimulus package... Now this guy is our treasurer that is scary... What has he done in his term apart from waste..

  • @southerncross73 #1: Name one structural change that Costello made to the economy to repay the deficit besides the GST and making some initial cuts to the public service?

#2: If you can't answer then how did he repay the deficit when he showered the electorate with tax cuts and unnecessary middle class welfare?

#3: What was Australia's level of private debt in 1996 and what was it in 2007?

#4: Why were interest rates and inflation at the same levels in 2007 as they were in 1996?

  • @southerncross73 Answers:

#1 Costello made no structural changes to the Australian economy.

#2 It was paid off thanks to our terms of trade (Largely effected by the floating of the dollar), the mining boom and the economic growth from 1992 to the present

    #3 $50 Billion in 1996. $550 Billion in 2007

    # Costello's tax cuts and middle class welfare allowed people to consume more which raised inflation which led to the RBA continuously raising interest rates to maintain economic stability.

  • @southerncross73 ah that 92 billion dollar debt as whittled down from the massive debt john howard left the country in when he was the treasurer

  • @damo24now which was then left by Gough... :)))

  • @southerncross73 yeah no thinks to fraier and co blocking all the legislation

  • @southerncross73 you liberal wankers just dont get it do you?, the reason labor spends money is because the liberals DONT!!. Labor puts in all the reforms and the libs come in and take the credit for them, in the 13 years before john howard came in the country prospered like it never had in its history, why? because paul keating and bob hawke made the tough calls for the future of australians. Recession we had to have? who gives a toss the country prospered afterwards thats the point you morons.

  • Both sides are a joke but at least the Libs are not going to stick us with a carbon tax!!

I'm sick of Labors tax the shit out of them policies, it's there answer to everything!!!

  • oh yeah the Coalition did great business with a whopping national swing of 0.60%

    Joyce! you're a joke

  • @Donnie2020 Your comment is typically of the mis-information that labor hack quote as fact. The reality is the Coalition had a national swing of 1.9% and the Liberals had 0.7% (source AEC) With the inability to actually quote real facts it is no wonder that people are starting to be able to smell the shit that the ALP pumps out... and Swan is the chief offender. Swan is the joke and Kroger served it to him.

  • @8Taipan8 2.20% swing 2 the coalition now!

  • @Donnie2020 actually a 2.20 % swing to the Coalition. 0.60% swing to the liberal party (not including the LNP in queensland, or country liberals)

  • Michael Kroger is a fool!

  • Comment removed

  • @Wallabytrack Ha ... Uniformed moron..

  • @Adirtybird NAAr! Just been around longer than you ,Knackers.

Hey' Dirty Bird.......I think ya' just shit your nest.

  • @Adirtybird YAWN!

  • @Wallabytrack See ya in 12 months when the wheels fall of the Labor wagon... Wanker...

Ps how long did you think before coming up with that reply.... Inbred bogan

  • @Wallabytrack A comment was removed, was it this ?

"@emucentral Yeah! ya' reckon Abbott would be a bit more savvy in the econ dept wouldn't you, abbotts a looser, a bit like yourself by the sound of you."

Look, Wallabysh!t, It's plain to see that Swan's a fool.

Abbott might be "bored" with economics (who wouldn't be) but he's clearly far more educated about it than the goon Labor has appointed.

  • @Wallabytrack

Oh, and I don't think I am a "looser", I think the term you were after was "loser".

It's a good word to describe an under educated fool who cannot spell.

Sorry that this "loser" didn't reply to your comment earlier. Only just got back from a trip where I was being paid to travel to FNQ to work on a documentary segment to add to the one I was paid to travel around the world to film last year.

  • Jokes on you liberal cunts. Labor will retain government because right wing politics are a joke.

  • @ottopotomas Look at the scoreboard buddy - that outcome is becoming less and less likely with the ALP and LNP even but the LNP ahead in 2 of the 3 undecided seat. Most likely we will see a minority LNP government and a decintegration of a hopeless ALP that is staffed by fuckheads like Swan. This bloke isn't fit to run a chook raffle at the local RSL let alone our economy. The sooner this wanker and all his Labor / Union cunt of mates like Arbib are shown the door the better.

  • @ottopotomas I hope your fuck'n right.

  • The thing to remember is that Wayne Swan is an insipid, unqualified party hack with no talent, no idea and no credibility.

Barnaby Joyce at least has a degree in commerce is a fellow of the CPA (Accountants not communists!) and has held down a real job.

Tony Abbott's qualifications include a Law Degree, MA from Oxford, Bachelor of economics and he's a Rhodes Scholar.

Swan's barely qualified to be a garbologist (no offence intended to sanitation engineers).

  • Michael Kroger for PM. This man has his head screwed on. Michael Kroger has the attributes Australia needs, love how Wayne Goose is crushed....bloody beautiful. I love the Libs.....

  • If you can call getting owned by a network that gave a plateform to a nitwit like mark latham (who advocated an informal vote) and incessently flogs a football code that cannot even make it out of it's own backyard-that's ambush journalism at it's finest.

  • You think you can do better in an economic crisis? Economic academics (including a nobel prize winner in economics) have praised labor's response during the GFC. (search "credit where credit's due ABC") I am no labor fanboy, they have their shortcomings but I give credit where it is due and I am sick and tired of the ignorant scare tactics Liberal and their one-eyed supporters have used to discredit Labor's sound policy.

  • @indoril007 I don't think anyone disputes that a stimuls was required to counter the effects of the GFC. What is at dispute is the quantum, implementation and accountability of the stimulus. If you listened closely to Kroger you would have heard him say that if companies pulled the same kind of fiscal management approach as the joke of a treasurer, Swan, then they would have the book thrown at them. I sick and tired of Labor trying to con the electorate that they are econmically responsible.

  • @8Taipan8 And how exactly were they irresponsible? Perhaps their implementation of the stimulus wasn't perfect but we cannot ask perfection. The liberal government tried to oppose their stimulus which has been praised by many academics as a good response to the GFC. It was not the only factor which left the Australian economy so well off in comparison to other economies but it was definately a contributing factor.

  • @indoril007 The stimulus was poorly planned, poorly implemented and done so in a paniced manner. Some of this blame lies with state governments however the buck stops at the highest level with the treasurer and the PM. What we have seen of the past 3 years in an incompetent gov. and a shithouse treasurer. I nearly fall of my chair every time Swan opens his mouth and sells his credentials. Its like me professing to be an awesome comosmologist even though I know nothing about it.

  • Politicians should be made accountable much more often. Labor or Libs. Workers and businesses get slammed if they fuck up. Yet we let pollies get away with it?? Fair go.

  • Get this incompetent fool out of Treasury.

  • Michael Kroger and Barnaby Joyce are like two arrogant high school students that need to pull their head out of their arses. Joyce opens his foul mouth without even thinking about it and Kroger is just plain rude. That was full on flaming without a cause. I couldn't believe these two!! Can you imagine these idiots ruling our country?! Its embarrassing...

  • @obsessiveweirdo240 Without cause???????? Are you asleep or just stupid.. This asshole has blown billions of dollars without any explanation as to how or why.

Its the same old Labor trick. tax and spend tax and spend.. Can you imagine allowing these fuckheads to continue to run this country.....

  • @Adirtybird You have obviously no understanding of economics

  • @Adirtybird He hasn't just 'blown' money. He's spent it because we needed to spend it. Australia avoided serious recession thanks to Wayne Swan and all we can do is bash him. Most countries would agree that Australia handled the recession best. The budget in surplus by 2012-13 that's pretty good after what we just went through. This 'reckless spending' is propaganda made by the Liberals to scare people into thinking we are in serious economic trouble.

  • @obsessiveweirdo240 Sorry young fella but we missed a recession because of the Asian market boom and the surplus left over by the Howard govt. and as for surplus in 2012-13 all that means is that they wont spend all the money then that they are spending now. we will still have massive debt and if the wasting of money continues we will be in deep shit. As you grow older you will see how useless Labor is with money. And i have history to back up my claims.

  • @obsessiveweirdo240 couldnt agree with you more, reckless spending? yeah if you call investing in the future reckless spending, the liberal party philosophy is as follows... dont spend any money and let things take care of themselves, the definition of incompetant lazy governance.

  • While I agree with "respecting the office", I think karma has caught up with Mr Swan. Perhaps he and his other 3 mates in The Gang of Four should have shown the same respect to the office of the Prime Minister, instead of shafting KRudd. As for "do I have to put up with this?" Actually, yes, you big sook, you do. If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.

  • I'm a liberal voter but I agree with comments below that Swan got ambushed. Kroger didn't introduce himself before asking his question and I don't think Swan was expecting to be cross examined by a panel of Liberals - past and present. Entertaining TV, but not that ethical without forewarning.

  • @mixmasterclaude So incredibly sorry that Michael didn't introducing himself before giving Swan exactly what he deserves. Absolute disgrace of a treasurer and a government and deserved exactly what he got for wasting billions. People complain about not having more than $300 a week for a pension and yet this guy is blowing BILLIONS that's 9 zeroes, and you complain about him not introducing himself?

  • @kungfusim It's just good interview ettiquette, and shows respect. I'm not a fan of Swan, that's why I watched this video, but there is no need for Kroger to lower himself to that level. He could very easily have said "Hi Wayne, Michael Kroger here" and then launched into his point. Don't get me wrong, I found the whole thing quite funny but I reckon Swan was entitled to be cheesed off with the way he was ambused, rather than the questions themselves.

  • Great Work Kroger, At last someone asking questions the media, for reasons best known to themselves, refused to ask the ALP since the election of their Clown Prince Kevin 07 aka. Lu Kewen.

  • Roxon should hide away in a corner before someone slaps her with a cold hard fact, that is she ignored for months a wish, a plea from a woman to have a life saving transplant, Roxons response was to ignore this woman, (Pauline Tanlty), Roxon you miserable swine would have let her waste away and suffer an agonizing death, this is no exaggeration. As for the goose, you say moving forward, you have shit this country half way down the hole, now the Libs have to pump it back up again.

  • @8Taipan8 the scale of the outgoing investment both short & long term was obviously larger than what the Howard Govt did, it was an enormous stimulus program to keep the economy afloat. Lib/Nats while in government wasted huge sums without even that as an excuse! Listen to pretty much any economist, here or overseas, they all give credit to the govt's action to keep Oz out of recession. Yes there was some waste, but this was not a bad govt by any stretch, it just didn't sell its message well.

  • @pclifto "Listen to pretty much any economist" - you summed it right up. Not everyone agrees that the scope of the stimulus was required. Fact is there is no absolute on any economic theory. Now Aus. is now heavily in debt and the budget is not in surplus with no real means of paying off that debt. There is growing economic analysis that the stimulus was ill thought out and poorly implemented - the current gov sucks and Swan doesn't have the balls to admit it and Kroger served it to him.

  • What an ambush! This network seems to be very good at setting up these things! Not only is it 6 against one, he cant even see them! Fair go! Also who is that vulgar guy who spoke last? Imagine these guys in govt!

Swan did OK given that this was not an even playing field. Gillard did better with her Nine Ambush though with Latham, the gist: "Congratulations on your new job Mark, we hope this new career is more successful than your last"

  • Although maybe a bit over the top, I loved it when Michael "socked it" to Wayne.

  • Great work Kroger!!!!

  • of course the Howard Govt didn't waste any money in their term... $1.4 billion on new jet fighters that NEVER TURNED UP? Regional Partnerships anyone?

The Libs are just as bad at wasting money... though Labor was too stupid to point this out during the campaign

  • @pclifto Mate the Howard government never wasted money on the same scale as the current government. They promised so much and then delivered so little - a bungled insulation plan, poorly reactive school investment program that was full of rorts and more to the point had very little effect rescuing the economy for the GFC. I'm still amazed that Swan actually believes that his plan was a good one when as Barnaby pointed out it was the Asian economies that saved us. Swan deserved all he got.

  • @8Taipan8 how about barnaby joyce list the achievements of the howard government for everyone to see, booming economy and..... how do you think we got the booming economy in the 1st place? we didnt invest a thing in infrastructure, jobs, reforms nothing and according to barnaby joyce and that other moron kroger that is how we should run the country? they are both embarresments who know nothing about good governance.

  • Shows how out of touch and no idea that labor has, and what a little twit swan is. He clearly isnt living in reality, and got what he deserved. I love the smirk on Costello. Costello is a real treasurer, not Swanny!!

  • "Seats move around a lot in QLD", Yes, but not all of them mate.

  • Comment removed

  • To quote Nelson Muntz: HA-HA

  • pwnage! Well done Kroger.

  • The incompetent Swan got everything that he deserved. If that's appreciation from the Queenslanders, I'd hate to see how'd they'd react when they are annoyed with someone.

  • I wish this would happen on our media, I am not familiar with Australian politics but I like this:)

  • Lol he got owned big time. Not to clever without a script are you ;)

  • It was the best highlight of the election. Outstanding. Pollies should be held to account like this more often. Swan is a gormless idiot.

  • Was a bit rude of them, but I agree with every word.

  • BIG TIME ownage
