  • The missing verse:

We can boogie in the living room, boogie in the den. Come on baby let's do it all again. Hey babe ya wanna boogie? Boogie woogie woogie with me. (12 grunts) Boogie woogie woogie with me.

  • This is for my friend, Diane. We always boogied.

  • look up "Eigoob", this guy named Ned Luberecki performed this song backwards- which i had the pleasure of seeing live. it is so funny...

  • ...We boogied in the livin' room, we boogied in the hall... I boogied on my finger, and I wiped it on the wall.

Hey babe ya wanna boogie! Boogy woogy woogy with me.

  • I thought this was Tom Waits when I was a kid... oh well :p

  • Hey what happened to the rest of the song - the last verse? There was like 30-35 secs left in the song. WTF???

  • search Eiggob to hear it sung backwards

  • my dad's a huge country fan and i didn't even know what this meant until like 10 years ago

  • What woman could resist--especially when he makes those fart sounds?

  • Holy crap! I was laughing so hard at this I'm tearing up! What the hell was this guy thinking w/this song? I am asking rhetorically of course, but it's classic! Thanks for sharing!

  • @tonks78 It was 1972 - what do you think he was thinking?! What was anyone thinking back in that era?!

  • @bucky468 Yup...yup! You're right.

  • @bucky468

I was thinking..."I just passed the California Bar Exam!"

  • That is outstanding! This is the version I remember. I was listening to another version with music and it wasn't funny. This is funny.

  • YES!!!! My dad used to play this for me too!!! I would laugh for hours. Then for show and tell I came in and sang it in first grade. I can't imagine what was running through my teacher's mind watching a six-year-old sing this.

  • @rivercityhigh Hahahaha thats great!!! My dad would play this too! I love John Hartford!!

  • This is only part of it. anyone know where I can get the rest of it?

  • it pretty much repeats itself

its from aereo plain lp 1972 cd hard to get

  • @JonnyRello Couple yrs ago that album was at Walmart music downloads which is where I got this song. WM took it off soon after I bought the song. Maybe a reiessue company like Wounded Bird will do it.

  • @JonnyRello FYI it IS available at iTunes now. Get it before it's gone.

  • Never realize this was a "real" song. the old KPRI in San Diego used to play it and I thought it was just a goofy DJ spot.

  • my dad used to play this on the weekends in the morning and my brother and would giggle hysterically all day about it

  • My dad used to sing this song to me when I was little! LOL!

  • I have had this song stuck in my head for THREE MONTHS

  • This is his original on his record, I know my dad owns it. I actually recorded this song with me singing when I was 8 yrs old. I've got to see John Hartford live preforming twice, once in arcade N.Y. at Earl's restaurant and down town Rochester, N.Y. I even got his autograph!!Plus he autograph my t shirt of the Mississippi steam boat whistle blew!

  • First head this song on the Dr. Demento show back in the late 1980's. It's just as funny now as it was back then. I still crack a smile when I hear it.

  • i remember this but i did not know it was John --- fun stuff!!

  • lmao i love this song!!!

  • LOVE this song, though THIS version is a bit over the top! The BEST version I ever heard was the one John did live one night on The Smother's Brother's Show, with just his banjo. He sang it in a more natural voice(not FROGGY like here)and it was really CUTE and FUNNY as a result!
