Hi i am from the UK and am a professional freelance mua, and i did have a mac pro card but my handbag got stolen last year, but i still get up dates from mac pro itself, i recently re applied for the mac pro card only 2 find out they wanted more information and didnt accept my cheque, i sent them my portolio pic, business card and certificate but they refused, i am from the UK, and i really need the card as i do alot of shoppin from mac n i dont kno wat else to provide as evidence...HELP!!!!

@starsnavigate unfortunately, when you get a card, it has your name on it, and you're not allowed to share the card, the MAC pro store I go to is pretty stringent on that... I'm sure you're mom could order stuff online, and whatnot.

Hi, so iv just applied for my card 6 days ago, and MAC have emailed me asking to phone them, and have my card details at hand, do you think they doubt me, because eveything is legit, but im still a little worried.

Im thinking its because i didnt send a cheque but only my card details. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the video. I have a a couple questions. I'm a free lance make up artist, I have a small contract I have clients fill out, [nothing too in depth], I do not have a website or blog, and I have done make up for a model. I was not hired by her agency though, I was hired by her. I would then send in her comp card and that's all? And what would the chances be they would take it?

@jamiekind well the pro card is a discount card... you can order on the phone, but without a procard you will still pay full price for everything. Pro items, aren't already discounted

I have a question....I recently sent in my application, I am a freelance MUA and sent in a business card along with a sample bridal contract that I give my clients. In your vid you said it had to be a copy of a completed contract...do u think I may be denied as a result?

@LoveNectorxoxo I'm not 100% sure.... There needs to be proof that you've worked, something that isn't filled in, or not having a company reference, doesn't really prove you've worked as an MUA... I think you might get rejected, if you've only sent those 2 pieces of paperwork. Usually they will send back the application showing you why if you are rejected (or at least they did that for me the first time)

@beautynewbie lol thanks for your help, I sent in a bridal contract i give to clients on my own company letterhead, my business card, and a letter of reference from a steady client....I sent it 2 weeks ago and now Im pretty unsure if I may get it (fingers crossed). @LoveNectorxoxo no problem! I think if anything, it's probably the letter of reference.. I sent in a personal letter of reference I thought was my best, and it was rejected because it needed to be from a company with a letterhead... I wish you luck! :)

Excellent video! Had a question... do you mail it in a regular letter size envelope? Reason I ask is because if I have a nice color printed comp type card with my work on it.. I would hate to fold it up and ruin it when I shove everything in one small envelope. Can you use a larger document envelope?

I've done photo shoots with a friend of mine who is a photographer so I was thinking of having him create a comp type of card showing a couple of images of my work from the shoot. Also going to send my business card & letter from him since he's a photographer. You think that's ok?

i am a makeup artist, went to school for it any everything, after i finished school i really was obsessed with getting the pro card, now though the more i use mac products the more unhappy i am.. i dunno for ppl like me its not worth it because its STILL expensive with the discount and half the stuff i buy i dont end up liking :(

You said you had to sign a contract with a corporation. What are some corporations that you would recommend signing up for? I am a starting freelance makeup artist and I'm having trouble finding a corporation to help me get started. Anymore hints or advice?

@LeaDrathir you don't have to sign a contract with a corporation... even if you make an arrangement, with lets say... a non-profit organization whose putting on a play etc. as long as they have a company letterhead at the end and agree to write you a letter of reference you're good.
