Could mounting the jet CoM as the pivot work better for steering by not changing the balance when rotated? Rather than using leaf blowers could the pulse jet be used to provide the air for lift? I'm guessing the heat would be a problem
Oh, and another question. I see that the last update to your X-Jet page is dated 2003. Does it mean you never worked on the X-Jet again since 2003? And are you still considering to release the work you did under the GPL? (okay, these were two questions)
wow, man that is a neat concept. we did one years ago in high school, but just with leaf blowers. the pulse jet must have run you a bit of money, great job!
The road is probably not the best place to run a hovercraft because it is crowned so the craft will have a tendency to roll towards the sides of the road. (I made a crude hovercraft years ago and it did the same thing on my street)
Excellent, found your website years ago looking for jet turbines based on turbochargers... had obviously heard of pulse jets but had never seen a lockwood.
A friend built a braun pulsejet which is now embedded in a local park! I remember the drawings were in "The model aero engine encyclopedia" which was published in the 60s. Good to see crazy hobby projects.
lol it dose make me wonder what sort of parent would let thair 12 year old kid sit on a boat with a jet engine on the back of it, very cool i must say
