I saw a pack of Stevia powder in the supermarket the other day, and the calories were just a little less than sugar (stevia powder: 371 cals / sugar: 400 cals per 100 grams). The calories probably come from the bulking agent (maltodextrin). But what's the point in using it if it's almost the same amount of calories?

@123bathinapes Well I'll make it by using a boiling process, with the Stevia I grow. I wont need to add anything to that. I'll just make a big batch of it so it'll be worth my while. The stuff grows like a weed, so it is very easy to grow. And to answer your question, there should be a brand without the additives. I'm fairly sure my aunt has an all natural brand. I could see what it's called for you if I find it to be all natural (I'm fairly sure it is).

Clean extracted stevia is actively good for you. Solvent extracted Reb A isn't.

@angusf27 Very interesting statement. I had been using Optimum nutrition gold standard Natural whey protein and it contains Reb A. While consuming the product i experienced Joint pain, Fatigue, itching and frequent urine flow along with acne. I assumed that it was Reb A. Since discontinuing the product I feel a lot normal/better.
