No that is not true. It had 8GB. There was someone on at least two different forums complaining about this and s/he was challenged in this as they were the only person experiencing this. I do not own this, but I ordered this one from Mp4global as a gift. It took a while to get, but my friend continues to be VERY happy with it. I just ordered the 777 for myself quite recently.

I've just bought one of these from ebay only to discover that you DO have to convert videos as it only plays AVI format and not all formats as it claims. The sound is quiet using the supplied earphones but I used some others and its a lot louder. The inbuilt speaker seems loud on videos but quiet on songs. As all the adverts say videos need no converting I'm beginning to wonder if I have been sent a diferent model. There's no model number mentioned anywhere so can any1 confirm this please?

Just a reminder to all wanting to buy this unit... Its about 13mm thick, thats a bit thick! Battery doesn't even lasts 8hrs so 17hrs on a full charge is a lie, so claiming that the Ingenic chip uses less power from batter is still useless. No custome EQ is pointless! Not that loud when playing songs! From now on I'll stick with only MEIZU & Teclast mp4 players, cause their the BEST, period!!! The only good thing about this player is the custom themes, they look awesome - that it!

Onda vx747 with firmware v1.2 custom or non custom has many annoying bugs making this player less advance than older players!

This is why I love my Meizu SL and my broken Teclast T39, they have all the features I want. Both have the British Wolfson sound chip making these players sound so great!

It crashes alot, the sound isn't so great, the external speaker is a joke,now pluging the earphones doesn't cut off the ext. speaker and so it can be heard by everyone and I have to manuly turn ext. speaker off when using earphones volume doesn't go that high (only to 30) we need (40), no resume on music, shuffle is a big joke, and NO WOLFSON chip! which means no custome eq settings and your stuck with the lame ass 7 preset eq's! Horrible!

The onda vx747 has a better processor chip, it can play many more file types, the screen is bigger, the touch screen is more sensitive and better, and the biggest advantage is that it can hold up to 32gb of micro sd even though right now the biggest micro sd card you can get is 8gb. So I would have to say the onda vx747 is much better.

There is no word on an 8GB model coming out any time soon.

The Instruction manual is in Chinese, but the unit is very simple to operate. We also pre set the unit to english language, so that you dont have to deal with the chinese language.
