Why students should read The McDonaldization of Society

i've read Enchanting a Disenchanted world and it really upsets me.  rationality is in itself irrational..who would have thought!? I just can't imagine an alternative right now. I think discussing a method of how society could make a move away from rationality and the enchantment/disenchantment cycle would be an interesting book to read. Humans will never reach their highest nature if they don't do something. All I want is true happiness and part of me is starting to think it is impossible

I've read this book. It was scary! I think McDonaldization of Society and Future Shock should be required reading in high school. Irrationalities in a rationalized system. We are becoming drones!!!
