  • Best cruise ever. Alaska!

  • Just got off my first cruise and it was on this ship. Went from Vancouver up the coast of Alaska to Seward...saw whales and it was cold in Glacier Bay! Being from Texas it was great to escape the summer heat! It was a great time on a very beautiful ship.

  • me too! could it be the same sruise?

  • Can you do a video for the ms zuiderdam? Its my first cruise with holland america and i wanna get a closer view. Ive been on 9 different cruises btw.

  • @iKaClubStar Did you find a video for the Zuiderdam? How was your cruise? We are leaving May 14th

first cruise ever aboard the Zuiderdam

  • I took the Statendam to New Zealand and Australia in 2006. I was a 20 day cruise that went all over the two places. I enjoyed it thoroughly and always cruise with HAL. My 4th one will be April 9th, 09 to the Southern Caribbean! This one is on the Maasdam!

  • Thanks for the comment. Is there a reason you choose to always cruise with HAL? Have fun on your next cruise!!

  • I always cruise with HAL because of their greatness! This will sound weird coming from a 22 year old girl but I like that it's not a party ship. The food is amazing, the entertainment keeps me on the edge of my chair, the staff are the nicest and most friendliest people and you get what you pay for! Don't get me wrong, they know how to have fun! ;) The excursions are great, the ports of call are amazing and you couldn't ask for more!

  • G'Day.

We have cruised on the Statendam on 4 occassions 1: Australia-New Zealand 14 nights 2:Australia to Hong Kong SE Asia 20 nights 3: Australia Christmas 2007 4: Pacific WW2 Cruise from NZ to Osaka 27 nights 5: Will be on the 19 March 30 nights to Singapore & Hong Kong....great ship (check out our video's of these on Youtube) Regards Noel

  • Wow that Pacific WW2 cruise sounds interesting. What sort of things did you see?

  • I spent 2 years working on that ship

and it was fun..... I chose to work on that

size of HAL ships coz its more easier

to familiarize and easy to manage .

I was a deck service assistant and i

hosted the "Filipino Crew Show" for

    a year.......

  • Nice. Do you miss working on the ships or are you happy to be back on dry land?

  • This brings back a lot of great memories...I worked on the MS Statendam (STAH-ten-dahm) for the better part of 2007, a wonderful 'little' ship. She's the oldest in the fleet, but she's a tough nails old grandma who's alive and kicking 15 years after she entered service...starting this next year she'll be doing winters in the caribbean with many of the other ships, with the Volendam taking over the Australia/New Zealand Itinerary..I guess that's enough for now lol. Have a good one.

  • Thanks for your comment! What did you do on the Statendam?

  • I was entertainment cast...look at my youtube profile to check out what we did on the ship...
