- As I recall it the people had 140 years to hear Noahs warnings. Noah was the prophet he followed on Gods instructions. I don't see how you can blame God when you would have been lauging at Noah up until the moment you started to drown! Don't see how you can blame God when Noah warned of the flood he provided the way from it. If Jesus Died to show the way from this world how is it any different to ignore His words today too!

I know that God is in charge, but I also know He's goodness itself, amd wants me to be with Him forever. I can make my own decisions too, but I know I'm not God, but God is moving all things to His great scheme of things. I don't know all of it, but I do know it will involve elimination of evil. Elimination of evil? God created evil himself! Why would he do that and then try to eliminate it while allowing countless people suffer in the process?

I have to completely disagree with you on your statement that God is "goodness itself". God of the Bible demands sacrifice, destruction and murder of entire cities with women, children, elders and even cattle, simply because of their apparent disobedience to him or disbelief in him. That's hardly a definition of "goodness".

@Spetsop What gave you the idea that God created evil? Evil came into the world as a result of human sin and disobedience. God has allowed this to happen, sure, but He does not approve of it. The fact that Jesus came & died on the cross to save sinners is proof that God intends to undo what was done. Sacrifice of animals was done as a means of approaching God; either the sinner dies for his own sin or an innocent subsitiute dies (cont)

That's the thing, you said he allowed it into the world to begin with, but is trying to undo what was done... by allowing his own son to be killed? What's the point of all that if he's all powerful?

He could have simply destroyed everything and remade it! He had no problem killing everything in the flood!

@Spetsop Evil came when there was a rebellion in heaven by some angels headed by the one called Lucifer (name means light). God had given them free will as He gave us free will, and that means we can accept or reject His law. If we reject it, then evil is committed. God did not create it (unless you think giving free will to people creates evil by giving choices to us), but He allows us to make choices still. As for sacrificing His own Son, that is grace and mercy; He didn't have to do that.

Well, consciousness, strictly from a neurological point of view, it's the activity of your neurons, and is recreated every 20 miliseconds. It's a loop, starts in your frontal region goes to the occiptial and back. For those 20 miliseconds you possibly don't really exist, only your physical body does. So, no, I DO accept that it could be something beyond matter... but I don't accept that it has ANYTHING to do with Biblical God (or ANY other relgious deity).
