Think so? Guess you never heard of Mary Pozzi...she has a '73 Camaro with leaf springs and can hang with a Z06 on an autocross. Type in "Mary Pozzi Autocross Highlights" into the youtube search without the quotes. Her car only has a zz383 with 425hp and weighs about 3600lbs, and it was only a couple tenths behind a Z06 Vette in the video.
Well, I do since I know her, and it has Global West leaf springs with articulating bushings in the rear, Hotchkis coil springs in front, and QA1 double adjustable shocks all around, with a Hotchkis sway bar in front.
Solid rollers are better in racing applications than hydraulic rollers, which are a bit heavier and can't rev as high as the solids...same goes for flat tappet lifters.
No, you'll need at least 110 octane for that. Depending on the motor, the maximum safe compression ratio to use pump gas is around 11:1...but like I said, different variables such as lobe separation, duration, converter, and timing can vary that number a bit.
Unfortunately, right now the car is dis-assembled getting restored. But when it's finish, it'll have a 5 spd and be able to cut corners like a Vette. They'll be plenty of videos then, and even (roadcourse) track-time videos...Stay tuned.
nice

Sorry for the poor quality. I think the video broke up some in the transfer from one computer to another before upload.
