In Scandinavian countries moose are called 'elk'. Hence, Elkhound. Used to track moose and hold them at bay until hunter arrives. I don't know if this is what's going on in this video, are these guys hunters or hikers? I do believe Elkhounds are still used for this purpose.

because in sweden norway and inland we do civilised hunting, we dont just shoot as soon as we see something. we get a clear shot of the heart or lungs and shoot. to get hunting license we need to shoot at a target thats high speed mvoieng but that doesent mean we shoot running animals when hunting.

Norwegian Elkhounds are not meant to bring down a Moose. They do not attack the moose. Their job is to locate the Moose and alert the hunter where it is. He did it well and brought the moose to the hunter.
I don't think millions everyday ! But it is a common view that grizzlies are much larger than they actually are. NO bear stands anywhere near the height of a moose at the shoulder.
Well in my country we use a little knowledge and logic to determine what a statement means ! My comment "You often hear americans saying "grizzlies can stand as tall as moose at the shoulder". What a load of SHIT". 'At the shoulder' means ON ALL FOURS. Even stood upright, GRIZZLIES RARELY reach anywhere near 10 ft, large Kodiaks, yes, not grizzlies. that was sooo funny. My mouth dropped when I saw that moose hauling. Been even funnier if the moose has kept going and we saw ppl hauling like that poor dog. Glad no one was hurt and all we got were laughs and a few moose tracks.... haha. Great video and thanks for sharing.

Norwegian Elkhounds are not meant to bring down a Moose. They do not attack the moose. Their job is to locate the Moose and alert the hunter where it is. He did it well and brought the moose to the hunter.

I don't think millions everyday ! But it is a common view that grizzlies are much larger than they actually are. NO bear stands anywhere near the height of a moose at the shoulder.

Well in my country we use a little knowledge and logic to determine what a statement means ! My comment "You often hear americans saying "grizzlies can stand as tall as moose at the shoulder". What a load of SHIT". 'At the shoulder' means ON ALL FOURS. Even stood upright, GRIZZLIES RARELY reach anywhere near 10 ft, large Kodiaks, yes, not grizzlies. And of course polars are the largest and tallest bears of all !

Have you ever seen one in the wild? Probably not! If so you would know that "on all fours" means on the ground and "stands" means on two legs, just like a person! Dont try the "logic and knowledge" card on me unless you know what you're talking about! When did I refer to your comment about the americans? I didn't! The part of Canada where I live has some of the largest bears around Grizzlies, Browns and Blacks. How big are they where you live?
