He even goes on to say all means of communication and travel should be in the hands of the state.

It's skewed because we as humans have yet to implement a system that works with the nature of man. Communism may serve to shake things up a bit from time to time and certain aspects of Communism in society is not bad (such as welfare, government aid and unemployment benefits for example), but communism enforces unnatural egalitarianism instead of encouraging people to rise above their peers with their intellectual or creative talent but rather through subterfuge and corruption.
I know, I am a revolutionary but not necessarily a Communist.. in the purest sense of the word. We all know society today is skewed and out of balance. Evil capitalist conspiracy? The moon's gravitational pull? What? Communism is one of the very few ideologies that you can truely say EVERYTHING has bee tried, and EVERY EXTREME has been attempted. Force collectivization, gullags, mass killings, cradle-to-grave propaganda, endless reorganization... what's left?

@TheLoveschach Except he wants to give them all a total monopoly. You don't want a capitalist to out-compete the government-owned option and ruin the whole thing, do you? But it goes deeper than that. Every communist the world over knows that you need to put up walls and limit everybody's travels, and strictly limit what information everybody gets. This squashes rebellion. And of course, the best way to make sure this happens is to have the great dictator control everything.

Both want a perfect society that can be controlled from the top down, and both don't give two shits about who they kill in order to do it. Thinking they are "opposites" is just vapid navel gazing, and akin to arguing how many angels dance on the head of a pin. The real opposite of both are individual freedom and liberty, regardless of how that makes society look.

@TheLoveschach I have read the Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital. Granted, I only sort of skimmed through DK, it's a little boring. Even then Marx lays out some of the atrocities even before they've been tried, like organizing everybody into an "industrial army" and forcing "traitors" to give up their land and freedom to feed the collective. He even goes on to say all means of communication and travel should be in the hands of the state.

It's skewed because we as humans have yet to implement a system that works with the nature of man. Communism may serve to shake things up a bit from time to time and certain aspects of Communism in society is not bad (such as welfare, government aid and unemployment benefits for example), but communism enforces unnatural egalitarianism instead of encouraging people to rise above their peers with their intellectual or creative talent but rather through subterfuge and corruption.

I know, I am a revolutionary but not necessarily a Communist.. in the purest sense of the word. We all know society today is skewed and out of balance. A communist revolution would not be desirable to me, but it would at least shake things up a bit and bring forth hopefully a better order and thus see where it goes from there.

Also, it still seems much more natural and reasonable to have class collaboration than class conflict. Instead of trying to lower everyone to the level of a peasant while a fanatical regime tells you that wanting more is counter revolutionary to Carl Margroucho, why not accept natural human inequality and try to increase the quality of life without communising and equalizing everything?

Capitalist? What with their militarily enforced egalitarianism and control of production and distribution? I fail to see how the USSR could be Capitalist, but if anything this proves that terms such as fascism, socialism and authoritarian are subjective it seems. Go look at the main tenets of fascism and then look at what the USSR was, granted I did not live there at the time but to me it seems like it could be called fascist. Do you consider the US fascist?

Marx theorised nothing but fantastical ideas for empty headed dreamers who are swayed by this Utopian ideal whose very premise of egalitarian redistribution is not only unnatural but IMPOSSIBLE. Every time Communism has been instituted it has turned into a SINGLE PARTY controlled state like the USSR, North Korea or China even Cuba. So in THEORY it is not fascism, but in practice it ALWAYS has been.
Communist dictatorship = people telling you what you morally deserve to have.

Yes Communism spews having no divisions (the USSR was just not listening), countries or states. It spews nonsense that will never come to pass due to human nature and how we choose to form CIVILIZATION.

People in order to build a great society we have to have order and control. If we abolish nation states and geographical divisions we will perish under a tide of chaos and human anarchism. Humans naturally seek their own well being and seek to be rewarded for their own greatness. I'm sorry but just like Christianity, Communism spews something unnatural and impossible to implement. The engineer says, "You idiots! You wern't doing it right!" Now repeat this over and over again hundreds of times over the last century and a half. At what point do you conclude that maybe the engineer has no clue what he's doing?Communism turns into a dictatorship because the blueprint is flawed.
