there are two different models. one for 30 and one for 60. the 60 minutes one is more expensive.

this is probably a very dumb question, but imma ask it anyway: when it says 60 minutes of video, does it mean u have 60 minutes total, or does that mean 60 minutes for each movie/recording??? im confused

60 minutes total. although the one time i tried to record a 60 minutes show i was only able to record 40 minutes of video total and then i got the "memory full" message. go figure...

so can u make a vid, save it to your computer, delete it off tha flip, and still have 60 minutes on the flip to film???

correct. in order to record more than 60 minutes of something you need to transfer the video off the flip to a computer to empty the memory. it's limited, i know but it's a cool gadget. the flip is more suited for short quick spontaneous videos, i think.

you have to buy the tripod separate. it doesn't come with the camera. it's about 5 inches tall. you can make one uninterrupted video as long as memory is left in the camera.

jaygp777, you can probably see that none of my videos include the Flip Video sign at the end. so, no you don't have to use the editing software provided with the camera. you can use windows movie maker or other software.

Hi Paulino, I bought me a Flip yesterday. Got me the black one. I like how it looks and feels, seems nice. I notice when I push the buttons sometimes I see a ripple in the screen, as if something is pushing on it from the back. Do you ever have this issue? I also upgraded the firmware from the Flip site, and now the onboard software doesn't work :( It says "application error". I wonder if I got a defective unit, maybe I should take it back and exchange it for another.

hello, pixelbat. no, i never had the "ripple on the screen" issue. the only thing closer to that is when i am shooting something with poor lighting then it looks like some ripples or something like that. i have not upgraded my firmware... i am not sure if i should. but i don't use the onboard software anyway :-)

I don't really use the onboard software either. I use Sony Vegas, but this rippling is hardware it's not actually on the video. It's like if you push on an LCD display when it distorts and ripples. I think I might have a defective model, going to take it back tomorrow and exchange it. :D

hahaha.. now that you mentioned... yes, it does a little bit of that ripple effect on the screen when i press buttons. i have never noticed before. and it had never affected my videos. may be it's doing it now because the camera was sitting in my cold card for a while. who knows.

hmmm... i am sorry. i don't know that much of technology to know what your problem can be. i suggest you first try turning on the monitor ;-), second try playing your video with different programs and see if that solves the problem. if not, please contact pure digital technologies directly. good luck!
