.50 hmg is beast on taking out jeeps, but not tanks. What's annoying is the number of hitmarkers I get with it when I shoot an infantry in the chest with it.
eh i think the lmg would be better with infantry because of the faster firing rate and i think engineers running around with SMAWs is a bigger threat than helicopters
When you unlock INVR scopes and thermal optics for vehicles, it's like shooting fish in a barrel and the game becomes so fucking cheap and easy to play, the challenge is almost cut in half. I was shocked at just how much different it was with these things unlocked. As a soldier, before I had the INVR scope I had to move very slowly and take my time because spotting enemies through dust/foliage was troublesome. Now, they stick out like a sore thumb. It's insanity.
@RatherGeekyStuff@SynsterGatesA7X NOT ANTI TANK Its Armor Piercing meaning that it will pierce armors no more then 50 to 70 mm like APC's and other transport but not tanks .. Tanks have 100 + mm armor :)
@SynsterGatesA7X .50cal isn't cpable of anti-tank use. There are some variations that can pierce heavy armor, but modern tanks are FAR beyond that rounds capabilities (judging by how they can shrug of rockets)
@0Tanker0 Really? I remember watching a Mythbusters episode where they rigged a Tank to be remote controlled, then they shot it 10 times with a M107 and the tank was smiking like crazy and they weren't able to drive it at all anymore.
@SynsterGatesA7X Well, an m107 is a 175mm shell, and they did shoot it ten times directly, I think that's a bit more than a infantry self-propelled rocket or two (also, what tank were they shooting? Newer generations have much tougher armor)
@0Tanker0 The episode was released last year and they were shooting at a Russian tank that would carry 5 soldiers inside. I dont know what gen that would be.
@SynsterGatesA7X definetly an older tank. Abrams today have multiple layers of armor that progressively break down enemy rounds as they hit. I would actually read an article on it, it's amazingly complex.
@Fire17y You can indeed shoot down everything. Even jets if they are stupid enough to make a gun dive on you. I give them the the HMG until they are close and the a main gun shell. They can't survive that and It's so rewarding. hehe
@Fire17y me too I was all excited when I got the hmg, but its fire rate is unrealisticly slow and dumbed down. Seem ike the rounds take a long time to travel too
quick question, i have unlocked coaxial hmg but when i push '2' to switch to the secondary it still say "coaxial LMG" and how do you activate the thermal optics?
the coaxial hmg can damange tanks?????

If the gunner has unlocks like the thermal optics, can the main driver use it as well?
Eleeti 4 months ago
will the HMG damage tanks too?
Seems like a useful upgrade if it does.

@Thingamajigs No i don't think it does, but I'm not sure. Wouldn't be very realistic if it did. hehe
RatherGeekyStuff 4 months ago
@RatherGeekyStuff ya it would, hmg's are 50caliber, .50cal is an aanti tank round.
SynsterGatesA7X 1 month ago
@SynsterGatesA7X Oh really? Thanks for the info. :)
RatherGeekyStuff 1 month ago
@RatherGeekyStuff No problem, acctually in reality, it would take about 10-15 rounds to completely disable a MBT. :)

i like the lmg much more than the hmg.
but thermal optic is sick. yesterday i got 28-1 stats and tons of destroyed mine-ribbons.
i wonder how i could see any enemy before

@Fire17y Yeah Thermal Optics is crazy good. Might even be a bit op?
I like the HMG more because I still kill about the same amount of infantry but now also Choppers. :)

Darusdei 4 months ago
@Darusdei Don't know why it would say LMG if you changed it to the C. HMG. seems weird indeed.
Thermal optics is activated with rightclick on the pc. I don't know how you do it on x-box/Ps3.

@RatherGeekyStuff i figured it out. i didn't know you have to customize vehicles :D

dred675675 4 months ago
@dred675675 Yes. It's when you need precision, and the AP shell is just too inaccurate.
Alteonify 4 months ago
@Alteonify So they're like mini-tank shells that are more accurate? I like that idea.
