De eerste Nederlandse Change Your Mind Day vindt plaats op 5 juni 2010 in het Oosterpark in Amsterdam. Marlous Lazal praat met James Shaheen van het boeddhistische tijdschrift Tricycle over de eerste Change Your Mind Day in 1993. Die werd gehouden op een warme zomermiddag in Central Park, New York City, waar Allen Ginsberg en Philip Glass hun legendarische vertolking van Do The Meditation Rock ten gehore brachten en de zon langzaam onder ging op de verstilde klanken van een shakuhachi. i saw this when it first appeared new years day 1984 morning(haven't seen it since) and the last two verses stuck in my head from then 'till now. finally get to relive it. they don't do stuff like this on national tv anymore

@jharte007 Wow, a callow youth tells me, "I DON'T GET IT." Kid, U were "8" when Ginsberg died. By which time, he was already at least 20 yrs past being relevant. The fact that ur somewhat aware of Ginsberg, while I routinely meet kids of ur generation, who'v never heard of CHUCK BERRY, (and a host of other Mid-20th century notables) makes my point: GINSBERG IS OVERATED.

Orlovsky looked so deep in thought the whole time, I wouldn't have been able to keep my self from singing along!

@milascave That is almost always true of good ole Al, listen to "stay away from the white house", that song is full of great advice.

Ginsberg wrote some of the most powerful poetry ever written, yet he wasn't above clowning around a little. I love this guy!

What crap! There is nothing meditative about this stupid song. A 6 year old could have written it. Ginsberg is so over rated.

This is so great...the 20th century was so lucky to have Allen Ginsberg. God bless him, he deeply inspired my life. I love him.
