  • que horgullo ser jarocho gracias a todas las personas que lles gusta nuestro son jarocho viva veracruz chico

  • How can I get involved in this event? We play son jarocho in Ventura and Santa Barbara, CA. Just got back form playing at the 2nd international Mariachi and Folklorico Festival in Rosarito, Love doing stuff like this!

  • Compare this great music to music by Cuba's Sexteto or, Septeto Habanero, or, Isaac Ovedio or, Septeto Machin, you will see that son Jarocho and Son Cubano have a common ancestry. This is music from the guajiros and campesinos. Music from the soil, for the heart and soul. This is music that makes U wanna dance and cry at the same time. I LOVE it!

  • @Don1352 Very true Don. When the Spanish conquered Mexico they made Veracruz their principal slave trade destination point on the northern continent. Cuba and Veracruz have over 400 years of social and cultural exchange. Their food (black beans and fried plantains), their literature( poetic Decimas style) and their music (call and response verses) are all proof of this interconnection. I luv Son Jarocho!

  • Heard Son Jarocho for the first time, today, October 29, 2011 on National Public Radio. Wow! Even though I am not Latino or Spanish, this sound went directly into my soul! I guess that's probably because it has many similarities to my beloved "Son Cubano," circa 1912 to 1940; specifically, the sound of the Spanish "Tres" guitar and the down home folkloric sound that just makes you wanna leave the damned, dirty city life and go back home. Viva Son Jarocho

  • I'm a gringo and I love Son Jarocho. VeraCruzano funk!

  • The Son Jarocho usually implements the harp as well and I don't see that

  • @mxDragon18 Yes, there are several regions within Veracruz that include the harp but there are also many that don't.
