  • Yes it is true. FIF is alive again

  • My dad told me Five Iron Frenzy is coming back together... Is it true?

  • @EmotionsNeverLie Hope still flies >:D

  • This song got me through some rough times when my father died, FIF speeks to my soul

  • Do they play this song live? I hope they do for their reunion concert. Who wants to be my +1? Attractive women of legal age only.

  • I hope they play this song in there reuinion concert on the 22nd! How could they not?

  • Oh I cant not listen to thsi song without falling on my knees and thanking God for His mercy and grace. Thank you Reese for an awesome song

  • I could listen to this all day and just worship. It's really that amazing.

  • im atheist and i love this song :)

  • i love this song

  • How could anyone dislike this song? It's so beautifully put together and so powerful!

  • @HellHathNoFuryAtAll8

It is my belief that the 3 dislikes on this video came from people on their first time of listening to the song, and it blew their minds and they momentarily lost consciousness, causing them to fall on the dislike button.

  • @itskragus I hold that they just had so much reverence for the song that they couldn't bear to hear it played in anything less 1080p high quality audio.

  • the first time i ever listened to this song and heard the every new day ending on it i was blown away by how full my heart felt. this song almost always makes me cry

  • isnt this song about paul?

  • UNLESS he meant it in the sense of "my sword pulled BY its hilt." Hmmm, that could work.

  • I also really like the way they did the ending. The only thing I don't like about this song is how he said, "my sword pulled from its hilt." The hilt is the part you hold. I mean, I know he wanted it to rhyme, but it doesn't make any sense because the hilt is part of the sword. But I guess "my sword pulled from its sheath" or "my sword pulled from its scabbard" wouldn't work very well.

  • Wow alot of their later songs give me goose bumps when I can read their lyrics with the music

  • I think that they put that ending in there because they wanted to show the contrast between the intense bridge and the somber ending. The bridge talks about our struggle for freedom and how we think we have to earn it. The ending is so different because it proclaims the freedom we have in Christ and how we can start over with God when ever we want. Each day is a second chance. Most of the song was minor and sad though the end was major and happy cuz he finally believed that God still loved him.

  • I think my favorite thing about the bridge is that it's written to show that conversion doesn't have to be easy or simple or necessarily for everyone. I am agnostic but I remember a time when I thought it was all supposed to be easy and unquestioned and hated how easily people fell in line with the idea. This song and this band often show that it's not supposed to be easy... its not supposed to be for everyone. Faith is a gift not everybody needs to open.

  • I kinda feel that the end being that of Every New Day kind of ruins the song a bit. Why couldnt they create some sort of amazing just spirited ending that goes along with that amazing bridge. It felt like I was cheated when I got built up by those amazing screams only to be dumped into another key and a completely different feel. For Shame. Other than that, song is amazing.

  • @PasosOlvidados i agree. the bridge was being pretty intense and then they throwed every new day´s ending. kind of kills the intensity. at least they could have played it with more energy like in the live version of every new day.

  • @PasosOlvidados Hmmm... I was thinking the exact opposite. xD I thought that adding the end of Every New Day made it seem a lot more epic. Maybe that's just me. One way or another, it's a great song. ;)

  • @01whiplash10 Oh Definitely. Every New Day is an epic song in its own right. The only problem I have with it is the transition brings too many changes into the song. You go from a minor key to a major key, from a traditional salsa clave to a rock beat, from screaming to singing, from a somber mood to a happier one. It just doesn't fit musically. I personally think this is one of their best songs written and I would have loved to see how they chose to end it instead of giving fanservice.

  • @PasosOlvidados Hmm.... I don't know what to say, other than, this is, like you said, one of their best songs written. :D

  • @PasosOlvidados I think that we need to look beyond the musical style and look at what the lyrics are about. A struggle to break free of what holds us down, to freedom. The transition to Every New Day solidifies this even more. It's an anthem of that freedom that gives hope after the struggle that it took to get there.

  • my favoritesong its pretty much the only one il turn on myself

  • AWESOME!

    God Bless

  • definitely one of their best.

  • i dont even like christian music and this song makes me happy

  • I got goosbumps when I learned the meaning of the lyrics. And this singer sings like its his last day to live!

  • It took me so get the meaning of the lyrics... I don't know about anyone else, but I think the lyrics are about Paul. Maybe I'm just late to catch on, but thats so amazing.

    I love this song.

  • how did i ever forget how amazing this song truly is

  • This song is my life anthem!!!

  • I always get Goosebumps as it transitions into Every New Day ^^

  • @Zawicki1 Amen!

  • this song has been stuck in my head for almost a week. i love how they can take paul's rough conversion and make it look at our own selves and see how weak and frail we are and how we need Him

  • I love this song. i would like to hear it in a different key!

  • Funny how once in every couple years this song drifts into my head, each time holding more meaning.

  • Best song they made hands down. And 3:33 always sends shivers down my spine

  • Best song they made hands down.

  • I am an Atheist and Five Iron Frenzy is one of my favorite Ska bands of all time. This song is one of my favorites.

  • @MitsukaixAndante that's awesome! I'm a christian, but I love FIF because they're not...preachy. They're fun, and are passionate about what they do. And anytime they speak about God, it's always in a personal way, just like this song. It's awesome to see a band like this reach people who have varied beliefs and still strike a chord :)

  • This is the greatest song ever. They couldn't have ended with a better song. I have one rule when this song is playing...NO talking from around 3:30 to the end. This song is just beautiful.

"Healing hands of God have mercy on our unclean souls once again.

Jesus Christ, Light of the World,

burning bright within our hearts forever.

    Freedom means love without condition,

    without beginning or an end.

Here's my heart, let it be forever Yours,

only You can make every new day seem so new."

  • God bless you Reese Roper you and your colleagues have been such a blessing and inspiration to me in my life...thank you for following God...i pray the best for you and yours

  • Reece Roper has got to be one the the greatest lyricists ever to live. Just sucks that FiF hasn't been here since 2003 and now Brave Saint Saturn is gone too. Can we get a reunion plzzzzzzzz? :P

  • This has always been one of my favorite FIF songs. I miss these guys.

  • This song really speaks to me. I was arrogant and blind to God for a long time but yet when you finally come to Him, He will still love you and hold you, no matter what. I feel like this song is about me, "faithless heart," "headstrong and proud," and yet, God will still love me when I finally come to Him. Beautiful.

  • Lord..........I want to find you once again

  • i dont care if they tacked on every new day on the end, this is a good song. makes me happy. i love FIF

  • One of the bands that's helped me get saved :D Love FIF....

  • Not religious whatsoever. LOVE this song.

  • why is the end part of the song every new day? i like it, but i was just wondering.

  • @mthsbandrocks every new day was pretty much their banner song and this is their last song on their last album so I would assume that it was somewhat of a tribute

  • This song makes me tear up, every time.

  • Beautiful! Just Beautiful!

  • I wish I'd heard the ending with "Every New Day" before I'd heard this. It makes it all backwards for me.

  • i was too young when they were going around on tours..I WANNA REUNION TOUR!!

  • whoa bro its just a song dont get a jesus boner

  • Thank God for music like this. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. May we all meet him on those distant shores so we may praise his name. Tell me, whats better then God's love? NOTHING YO!

PVT. Brewer here, just wanting to say, Have a God-filled day and may he guide our way as we make tracks through this temporary world. God bless you all.

  • kil em all! let god sort them out

  • I am far far from religious in the organized sense... but I love Five Iron Frenzy for their music.

  • Why does everyone have to comment about religion, just enjoy the great song

  • I think given that it's a very Christian song, people bickering about religion is a given. If I were you, I'd just ignore them xD

  • many rumors have gone around about the reunion tour, micah says himself...2013 (10 year rule)

  • so glad FiF will be in Heaven :) can I get the mansion next to theirs? ~Thanks, God

  • so 420 and sega... anyone converted the other yet?

  • @skakid320

wasn't about converting him, I just wholly disagree with his belief that you can go directly against your religion and still claim to be a part of it

  • @420ExtravaSkanja

A claim is just words. i can claim to be an acorn. doesn't make it true. refine your argument.

  • @skakid320

Are you stupid or something? That's basically exactly what I'm saying. "Christians" who force change through having important seats in society like those in parliament by improperly using the bible, the same people who agree with parts of it and disagree with others. These people claim to be christians but are not. You're agreeing with me.

Well, either way you're certainly not disagreeing.

  • hardly. christianity is a belief system, and belief systems are as relative as it gets. maybe these people are not christians as you define them, but believe themselves to be christians. now i'm not saying that they're good christians or even good people, but you can't just say "no you're not." it doesn't work like that. anglicans are just as christian as evangelists.

  • @skakid320

i don't think you understand my problem. the problem is people in places of authority who in the past have used the bible to justify things (like the crusades) that directly stand against the bibles belief system (thou shalt not commit murder) . I'm not going to say we should start calling people 56% christian, and 74% christian, but I don't believe that you can use a belief system to justify actions unless you're following that belief system 100%

  • @420ExtravaSkanja

so is killing okay if you don't do it in the name of christianity? if i don't say murdering is against my beliefs, does that make it alright?

anyway, to the point of your argument, at the time of the crusades, the pope WAS christianity. he was law, no ifs ands or buts. any argument was heresy, so people had to follow his rules. old testament God didn't mind death at all, and if he was speaking through the pope telling him to go to war, thats how it goes.

  • @skakid320

No, killing other people is never okay. No matter what.

    Ever.

And no true all knowing or all seeing being would agree with it under any circumstances.

  • @420ExtravaSkanja

that's what i figured, but just thought i'd ask.

and maybe you don't buy into any of that Sodom and Gomorra, great flood, fire and brimstone wrathful God thing but that sure sounds like death to me. but then i ask where you think the line between truth and fable, literal and hypothetical is within the bible.

  • I'm not saying you don't know what you're talking about, but I don't know what you're talking about.

  • Heyy broskii. There is no line between it. But when Jesus says "Love your neighbor as yourself." doesn't that mean that mean that instead of killing them, just love them open heartedly? So i guess death is never the appropriate answer.

  • so if you had to pick. would you fight and or kill to save you or your family or would you let him take your or your family life???? kus i know what i would do and i would not go down with out a fight...

  • Where did you come from?

It's a totally different story if somebody is directly threatening your life. Going out and campaigning and killing people is never justifiable ever, but self defense is an entirely different story. If somebody came at me with lethal force I would respond in kind

  • but you sed.... No, killing other people is never okay. No matter what.

Ever. so what you just sed is contraindicating to what you just told me...

  • You're fucking stupid, like I said it's a totally different story when somebody is threatening your life. We were talking about murdering people, like the christians did in the crusades. If somebody comes at you with a gun you don't roll over and die, obviously you fight, anyone who doesn't understand the difference is fucking retarded

  • And on the eighth day, He created Christian Ska...and He thought it good :)

  • I can't stop listening to it! its so different and awesome! i don't get how somebody could be sick of this

  • Did anyone else notice that the end of this song is also the end, or close to the end of Every New Day?

  • yer i noticed that too

but the lyrics at the end are amaizing so im happy to hear em again.

Have a listen to Rhubarb pie and Ugly day by five iron frenzy. they are exactly the same except the lyrics are different

  • rhubarb pie was written by dennis but the record dudes didn't think it would go well on the album so they had reese write another song... ugly day.

  • ahhhh! i knew it sounded familiar!

  • Human frailty is the whole foundation of our need for God.

Casting first stones... killing my own...

Why do we find ourselves going after each other regarding who is worse, when we could be focused on making things better.

  • Not gonna lie, the bickering in your comments is really, really entertaining. Almost as entertaining as this sweet song.

  • Love this band!

  • Great band, wrong faith. Huge musical talent but the christ messages are worthless

Christianity did ruin the world, in case anyone forgot.

  • Christianity ruined the world..hmm thats an intriguing statement. how so?

  • 6000 years of violence, lies, and closed minded idealism which restricted spiritual thought. Do some research.

  • that's true. we haven't developed much. the renaissance wasn't funded by the church or anything. i'd forgotten that it defined western civilization. i also forgot that jesus was born 6000 years ago, not 2000, as the calendar might indicate. thank goodness for you and your research.

  • And that justifies everything the church did to acquire said money? Technology would have advanced no slower than it did with christianity, besides the renaissance was actually one of the slowest periods of technological progress so that point means nothing anyway.

  • Have you seen any countries where innovative break throughs emerge where Christians are not in the majority? Just look at the top ten people of the last millennium and look look at their beliefs and accomplishments. Newton, Gutenburg, Michelangelo, Luther, Washington, Marin Luther King Jr., Mother Teresa, and others you will find on any list of important peopleof the last one thousand years. They all had tremendous faith in God.

  • If it weren't christians it would've been someone else.

  • you have a point BUT not ALL of them were christians per se AND some of the most terrifying monsters of all time were ALSO god fearing people... see were im going with this?

  • ya but you do realize that the same can be said about non christians right? if not your just biased. basically in EVERY religion or lack there of (meaning aeitheist, i'm sorry if i mispelled that) or whatever someone bellieves there are good people and bad people...you see where i'm going with this? its not just christians its humans in general we all fuck up so stop saying christians hindered the progress of the world; well according to all of yall then an aetheist would've done it eventually

  • christians isn't dangerous; its humans that are dangerous; stop being children and blaming an inanimate object (religion, tv, video games ect..) of your problems or hurt or pain or whatever and reallize ALL humans have a choice to do wrong or to do good; end of fucking story. Its not those hypocritical christians that is the problem of the world (though i agree we christians can be pretty hypocritical a lot) or its not those "damned hethans" cause guess what christians and non christians fuck up

  • basically shut up and realize that we all are flawed human beings and stop playing the blame game; accept your own responsibilities and stop shoving them or trying to find an escape by blaming others for your problems...thats the politicians job (sarcasm...unfortunantly thats practicallly true though). okay so ya...and also if any christians read this and go at me for cussing...show me a scripture that says cussing is evil and then i'll stop...other than that i'll shut up now; bye

  • I never hindered spirituality. I also never killed millions of people in the name of an, at best, questionable deity. I'm putting the blame exactly where it lies, you are out of your element.

So you would cut out a major part of your life just because a text written thousands of years before your birth said it was wrong? This is why ORGANIZED religion is bad.

Take your spirituality into your own hands and believe what you truly believe in your heart. Bye.

  • You're a moron, and you missed the point entirely.

It's not what they believe that hindered the progress of mankind, it's what they didn't believe.

Christians managed to convince the surplus of the european people that christianity was the only answer, they also many a time threatened action against people who spoke out against christianity. This is how they hindered spirituality, because they used their religion to force other people to stop thinking about the side of life.

  • But the people you speak of, were they fearing the actual true God? I do see where you go with it, but you know there are so many people that say they are Christian that aren't. Think of how many chuches say they are a house for the people of God, yet many of their people watch pornography and watch the same things and play the same things as the seculars without shame, and with excuse. That is not a true Christian who has been filled with the Holy Spirit.

  • truth be told sega, i belive that no one now a days has even 60% faith anymore and if someone said they do then they are blind.... or not idk i dont know EVERYBODY :D

  • I do think that most Christians have doubts sometimes. But sometimes I know it can be hard not to have doubts, I mean, if you look at the average church, I really don't think the people are really that spiritually fed. I mean, theres the basic messages there and all, but thats just the milk of it, you know? There are tons of questions a person will have that are so unoften unanswered. Like how you can bee 100% assured yor saved, or what we can expect really after death.

  • However, I have recently meed recently to Erwin Lutzer, who preaches at the Moody Church in Indiana. (I can't go there myself, but you can listen to him on the internet.) He has more master's degrees than I can count on my hands, and he has written many books, but the thing is they aren't boring. There are a lot of questions preachers seem to avoid because they aren't sure of the answer, but this guy really does seem to have the answers. He's really helped me with my questions.

  • If I were you I wouldn't be so sure in saying "They aren't Christian", if they've accepted Christ, they're Christians. Perhaps one part Christian three parts water, but still Christian. Porn is bad, but a little white lie, or being unforgiving towards someone for a little dispute is just as bad. You're no better than the people you've criticized, you're no more Christian than the people you've criticized.

  • It is not that I am putting one sin over the other, I am talking about the incentive one has to do what God says, because he says it, and because they love Him. When I was truly saved one year ago, of course I was still a sinner! But I was also filled with the Holy Spirit, and I felt bad about the sins I had committed, because I know that hurt God. I still sin, but I also repent and feel remorse. I am talking about those who use Salvation to sin. If they were saved, they would want to please God

  • So all together what I am getting at is if you have actually accepted Christ into your life, then you don't accept sin into your life. Even if you do still sin, as we all do, we still try not to, with God's help. Because if you don't accept Christ into your life fully, then maybe you haven't really accepted Him at all. Paul said that we won't use salvation as an excuse to sin, no, just the opposite! You can't intentionally live sinfully hurting God every day and expect HIm to bring you to heven

  • Christians still intentionally sin. People still tell white lies, people still break laws (speeding is a sin, as it's against the law), I'm not excusing sin, I'm saying to question someone's salvation isn't so smart.

  • And look at nations that have tried to exist without God: the Soviet Union, China, Albania, Vietnam, which of these has been as successful as those that built their foundations on the laws of the Bible? It's amazing, some of the quotes of America's founding fathers and other important people of high position. I will send you some! (It is educational after all. I'm sorry if it sounds biassed, but they are the direct words of the men.)

  • The S.U. CERTAINLY was, but I'll still address your main point, the others? I'll agree; but only because we or somebody else had interfered.... Did you even think about the nations you chose to use as the examples? They were all ravaged later by the anti-communist movement, and that's the only reason they didn't develop faster than the Americas or Europe.

  • Your passion is impressive even if your history is flawed. The Soviet Union "succeeded" to the extent that it did by mass slaughter, large scale imperialism and well-developed propaganda. If it was so great we couldn't have spent it out of existence. China succeeds where it abandons communism and adopts capitalism. Viet Nam ditto. Albania was wholly dependent and subservient to Russia. Some success! They killed people who disagreed and still went down. Next point?

  • This is all true, I agree with all of this, and most interestingly enough I never made any points to the contrary. Why are you telling me this?

  • Alexis Total wrote in 1831, "Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits of flame with righteousness did I understand the greatness and genius of America. America is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, it will cease to be great."

  • I missed your point. Lots of christians think christianity is good too! And it is, in theory. But once you start using specific parts of the bible to impact people's lives it becomes dangerous.

The bible is a collection of stories with no place in reality. Christianity is a religion that would've been fine, until it was organized. This is the end to which all organized spirituality is doomed; it begins to look like a contest, ours is better than yours! This gets dangerous.

  • God uses the whole Bible to impact people's lives. Don't you wonder why people are being killed in, (I think 52 countries, I'm going to look it up on voice of the martyrs again) for being Christian? For claiming to be servants of Jesus?

  • People are being killed everywhere all the time, for a plethora of different reasons, many of which you can't even fathom. Most of it doesn't even involve religion but some of it does, that's part of life. What's your point?

All organized religion is dangerous, I don't pick favourites

  • Just recently 200 Muslims burned down a church and Christian homes, ending with some of the Christian peoples death. They did this because of a rumor that at a wedding Christians stepped on a Quaran, though the Pakistani government varified no such thing happened. Instead of revolting the Christian started doing what they have been doing for generations over there, burying their dead and rebuilding their homes. Also, forgiving their attackers and praying for them. That is love.

  • What lies are you talking about? and what violence?

  • I really don't have the time or interest level to type everything the christians have ever done, but if you really don't know about any I can give you a search term for some non-biased research, just make sure you don't ask your church's priest about it; The Crusades.

And most of it comes from organized religion and it's effective ending of spiritual thought or quandry, due to the fact that you were killed if you thought differently and expressed it

  • if Jesus says the most important commandment is to love God and love others...also he says to love your enemies... Then do you think these people that did the things your talking about in the name of Christianity have him as Lord? If he was there Lord then they would mirror their master. The church may be named after him but the heart and actions of a people reveal if they follow God or not. This isn't new, if you read Isaiah Gods own people, Israel, were in the same boat.

  • But where do you draw the line? If the words of a religion can be twisted so that it is in any way possible to use them to try to force the very same beliefs on somebody else, or to justify the violence used therein, then it is dangerous and must be dismantled. This is true of almost every organized religion, it's a constant that comes with telling people what you believe and wanting them to believe the same.

Organized religion is dangerous and must be dismantled in every form.

  • My good 420ExtravaSkanja, methinks we have differing views on this subject, yet agreeing views on the subject of the horrific things that have happened historically. I would like to converse with you regarding this matter. If you would like to speak and be heard, while striving to reach a concensus, email me @hotmail: icaruslotff

  • 2:56 up has always given me chills. no matter when i hear it. it talks about paul, killing his own, and God unscaling his eyes. God bless all of you.

    peace

  • Same thing here man I love it when a song is that good.

  • @DANEo2o2 Amen brother

  • you guys r the best no lie just simply wonderful to my ears

  • I am responding of course to the givebeesachance comment below.

  • They ended every concert with "every new day." It was fitting that they ended their final album with a sample of that song. The meaning of the song far outweighs the musical "modulation." If you're so concerned about that, maybe you should listen only to bands in which every member has a Masters in music, ya snob.

  • Actually it is all about the Bible.

  • five iron frenzy has some good songs..it feels kinda fruity that i think that a christian band is good lol..but w/e. if a band is good, then theyre good.

  • I feel the same way, but credit where credit is due.

  • this song is beast i leanred the horn part last week on my trumpet its awesome

  • Nah, I think the song goes better with this setup rather than every new day....it has more emotion, and "epic-ness" during the build-up.

  • I guess he could have been more creative but I still love this song, it brings me up when I'm feeling down

  • theres only one way to write good music, and by jove, if the modulation is awkward, were throwing it out!!

  • I don't know. I think that 'Every New Day' fits rather well with this song. Sure it may not 'sound' like it fits, but the lyrics stay with the point of the song. In my opinion. I find the transition to be rather smooth, didn't even realize it when I first heard the song until the lyrics popped up.

But, to each their own eh?

  • @Jaggard

Apparently not since all my posts were downvoted.

    How would Jesus vote?

  • @givebeesachance

You'd have to ask him because I sure as sure couldn't tell you. Maybe ask the folk who down-voted you? In the end, "to each their own" still stands. Shame people can think the same on a subject huh?

Also wow, really? Replying to a year old comment? Yikes man.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm not Christian, but I can definitely appreciate the dedication and talent of Five Iron Frenzy with their music. Great stuff.

  • I can't express how much I love this song and this band. Since I found them they've been on top of my list. I blame them for myself staying faithful. Especially this song. These lyrics, everytime I hear them cause something to get in my eye.

  • looks hard to write songs like this

you really gotta know the bible

  • I dont think he quotes only verses from the bible in this song... He just has a deep connection with God and uses his talent with words to express that

  • that is how most christian artists are, they have such a deep connection with God, that God gives the words to use, and through those words, have the power to touch the hearts of the masses

  • Depends on your denomination. Mine is all about having a personal relationship with god.

  • that is based on love... hahaha

  • Comment removed

  • and grace

  • the whole of christianity is based on love...

  • I don't identify as a Christian personally but Five Iron is an amazing band and I find their songs very uplifting, especially this one.

I admit sometimes my perspective of Christianity becomes far too negative, which isn't fair because there is a lot of love in many parts of that community, I like songs like this, and in that way I can relate to what I see as 'positive Christianity'

  • Mi Favorito Song, Fa Sho, Great Walk Of Life type`a song... that is if you have ever lived a Christian life.

  • I'm not christian, or religious at all for that matter, but this is a great song and a great band.

  • such a great song. love the lyrics

  • WOW! I didn't know putting up this song would start up such a big argument

  • Haha - I -love- the way you phrased that XD

I read it over like, five times, and each with a different intonation. It made me chuckle :P

  • Anyways, sorry about the preaching.

  • I'm refering to Christians. And I'm NOT saying that someone who swears isn't saved. That's God's call, not mine. I try NEVER to make that call. But when I go through dark periods in my faith... I don't feel like going to church... I don't feel like going to Bible study... I don't feel like watching my tongue. And usually, the result of these things is that I get more and more miserable and God feels more and more distant. And it's hard to believe that God loves me during those times.

  • I was reading some of the earlier comments regarding swearing and whatnot. I think the biggest issue with swearing isn't so much how others view it. I think it's more the fact that someone who curses and swears a lot usually has some underlying heart issues. I say this as someone who has a hard time controlling his tongue. When I stub my toe, first reaction is to use the F-bomb. When I'm not walking closely with Christ, my cursing is sort of a symptom of how weak my faith is at that time.

  • My favorite FiF song, ever. Period.
