  • This film is a feast for the eyes of those with a "Visual Learning Style!" This film was fascinating, to say the least and I could not take my eyes off the colors and breathtaking scenery. It has several stories woven throughout so you have to watch closely. You have to think and process what you see.

Far too long the movie going public has been subjected to a majority of films that are dull, lacking visual and intellectual stimulation. Plain and simple, they are lame and uncreative movies a

  • it was awesome, restrained action scenes, not over the top like most films of this kind, a haunting soundtrack, very little dialogue. I just loved it

  • Does anyone know the name of the band and the song that is playing when they burn down the monks hut?

  • @AyabieLover20 Dimmu Borgir, the song is "Entrance"

  • watched this few weeks ago, was amatuer as fuck but i enjoyed it alot. had a good soundtrack aswell, altho they could of made use of a few other songs/bands aswel

  • the norse only followed the Irish monks, vikings were murderers.

  • This movie was fucking dope! I highly recommend it!

  • @amparosavickas41 Dont, it really sucks

  • Everybody says that but I have not found what the song is called, what is the song called?

  • No one has yet to definitely say where this song is from. Anyone?

  • @videogamegenius andrew wk

  • i loved this movie... i hated it the first 10 minutes, but after you abandon hope of it being any good and start laughing at how awful it is its the funniest damn thing youll ever see

  • gold

  • vikings Windmill headbanging in trees... gold

  • Truly, one of the shitest films I've ever seen

I only lasted 22min & in that time the start of "Chapter II" sky rocketed this film into the hemisphere of the greatest classification of film making there is,that being the genre of:

    So Bad its Good

For one must give up all hope of enjoying all but the landscape & resign to being awestruck by how it ticks new levels of shit,in ur best & worst films ever seen list

& if u watch it through to 20:18,u shall regret having done so for the rest of ur life!

  • This film was awful, but wonderful at the same time.

  • This is one of the worst film I ever seen ....

  • I just rented this Film from Blockbusters. This is different

  • I have not yet seen the film, but I would have to say that anything that teaches the American people where they may have came from is not "bad" even if the film is bad it may help someone to want to know where they came from, in my case I am mostly Celtic, but the Norse Pagan is brother to the Celtic Pagan, so there is always an upside to a shitty film, but like I said I have not seen it and cannot judge it from another persons opinion.

  • @TheCauthBodva "teaches the American people where they came from". What does that even mean? I think what you mean is, "teaches a very small group of Americans of Nordic descent only, where they came from". Also, the Nordics came from the east, while Celts were already all over Europe... and very mixed ethnically. Only most recently were they pushed west onto the British Isles. There are still Celts in Austria, the Lowlands, etc. There is no single "origin" of anybody.

  • @jeng3000 This is very true. Sounds like you just told somebody to finish the chapters of history they stopped reading!

I am Celtic and Nordic(norwegian), also northern German(Prussian)

So somehow my family have always kept oral tradition alive and we know our family's story...well the best oral tradition can offer...

I live in CT now but in summers I live in Maine. There have been RUNESTONES found there on the coast, so it is very mysterious and mind opening to think about!!

  • @chiprommel Cannot wait to see this film! I hope it is good. I ahve had always a strange calling to the land of Maine... I can see why the Vikings would have loved it, why my ancestors would have... But too bad nothing large ever became of their discovery...But then again..

I curse the other Europeans for what they did to the Native people here.

In Canada the legend is Vikings settled peacefully with natives there. That makes me happy!

  • @TheCauthBodva WATCH THE FILM! I will this week! maybe you and me can discuss it as civilized historians and Heathens(hoping you are!)

Michael Keuhl Hammermeister is my facebook name if you care to add me as friend.

I speak german too if English is not best for you and you know german?

  • I like the concept. It's brilliant actually. Too bad it's pretty much ruined by the horrible editing, camera angles, random annoying stuff (like closeup of a dude dropping logs!, or headbanging to the background music) and the swedish dubbed random voices that accompany sentences of totally different meaning, which is very disturbing to experience when one knows scandinavian.

"Jag skjalvar i hela kroppen" = "Hail Odin!"

  • I don't like watching people drop logs.

  • The music is from Andrew w.k. and it's called A.W.K.

It's the ghost track on the She's Beautiful single.

  • at least visually, this movie has the worst trailer I have ever seen for a movie.

  • La musique est de Juda priest et Brain Eno.

The music from Juda priest and Brain Eno

  • @Le1erfou Brian Eno is legendary!!

  • So if this is Andrew W.K. then what is the song name.

  • Haha yeah. This movie is terrible. The audio is so disturbing for anyone understanding scandinavian languages, or maybe for everyone. Too bad they used old Ingmar Bergman audio:P

  • to add to the fun, theres people randomly headbanging to metal in the middle of the movie, huge salmon sized fished in small, rocky creeks, they say only like 100 words in the entire movie, theres absolutely 0 historically accuracy, theres Satan worshipping Vikings, and tame dogs are supposed to be wild angry wolves.

  • this was the most boring movie I ever saw.

It was 2 guys chopping wood, walking around, or looking at lakes half the time. Whoever did the camerawork couldnt hold the camera straight. And I could make a better movie in a nearby park with 2 guys.

  • This movie would've been so much better if it had better dialog. Seriously, the Norse didn't say shit like "This fish is really killer...". I'm sick of movies being made nowadays, it's like they're being written with 13 year old's in mind. Not only that, playing the same songs over and over and over... A song with "666" in the lyrics put to that church burning clip... LAME. The Norse didn't worship Satan so that didn't fit at all. I'm glad I watched this at a friend's house and didn't buy it.

  • @AllfatherWuotan yea you had good points too. A fan of Norse mythology and history, I would rate this movie 1 star

  • De quien es la cancion???

  • I will disagree with the comment underneath.

when watching the movie just realize the uncertainty and the futile situation one may have gone through.

In reality alot happens in the movie it's just shot in a way where it's more day to day, moment upon moment rather than cutscene cutscene montage cutscene

  • i just saw this film.

90mins of 2 dudes wandering the forest in silence, one actually takes a huge dump on screen, theres a gay monk/viking love story subplot, the soundtrack praises its self as "throbbing death metal" but really its a 90 minute synthesizer solo, no plot.

    terrible terrible terrible

so terrible my heart hurts for the write/director/producer/actor

  • Fucking Amazing!!

  • in a nutshell:the way a european and an american thinks(I'm not taking sides here, saying either is right or wrong) about these things is totally different and one has to realize/respect that in order to avoid unnecessairy misunderstandings...

  • Great moive. Puts pathfinder in its place.

  • I haven't seen this but Outlander with Caviezel was better than Pathfinder!

  • @ironbird01 The best beowulf movie is Beowulf and Grendel and the 13th warrior. The icelandic viking movies are the best. Check them out, they are on tpb. White viking is one of them.

  • @Thrillseeker666 I thought the 13th warrior was a bad viking movie, till I saw this

  • It was interesting, not bad, I didn't mind it. Too bad those "white nationalists", like Strmfront, will be sitting around jerking off to it and dressing up in their little "Vinland" costumes and all that, lol....

  • typical , hypocrisy , so its ok to be a nationalist as long as your not white.

  • I don't care for any racial "nationalists" personally (even though none of them/none of you, HAVE a "nation" to be a nationalist for anyway). In this regard "nationalism" is just a new word for racism or at least racial separatism. Totally antiquated & dead idea; you are living in a different time, plain & simple. It's up to you to change your own thinking; it's harder on you to live w/that kind of mindset than it is for the rest of the world to ignore you.

  • exactly my thoughts man.you should keep in mind however that it's much more difficult for say a european or someone for example from china, japan, egypt or mesopotamia/the middle east or any other country/region with rich historical past to deny their history/national heritage(even though it may be an illusion as you said)all these countries for many reasons(social, economic, political etc)have invested heavily in instilling to their people a sense of national pride...

  • while your country the US on the other hand was created on exactly the opposite:the ability to assimilate people from different historical/national backrounds.there isn't much ''original/common'' american history, except for that of the pre-colombian natives(latinos).most of the others are immigrants and have nothing to connect them to this land(america) so it's easier for them to sever their ties with their homelands and adopt a whole different mentality, like the one you demonstrate here.

  • Pre-Columbian Natives are Latinos now?

Since when was Latin any part of the Americas before European discovery (and after)?

People need to get their wording correct.

  • since always...today's latinos are descendands of the aztecs, incas, maya etc...do your research man...

  • Today's "latinos" (as everyone tends to call them) are generally Mestizos (Latin and Native descent). How are Mexican Natives from Pre-Columbian time considered people from Latin Europe? That doesn't make any sense.

  • oh,ok,now I see where your objection comes from.you're right.these people have nothing to do genetically with europeans...I was only calling them ''latinos'' 'cause they speak latin-influenced dialects/idioms(mainly spanish influences to be more exact) and many of them(I think the majority)are catholic christians...

  • Many don't know where they come from or what tribal/ethnic group they would've belong to apart from the eponymous Aztec/Maya/Inca which are identities too broad yet are employed by people not willing to explore their genealogy. Apart from that, genuine Natives in "Latin America" typically have very reserved perceptions on Latinos seeing that Latinos tend to discriminate against Natives and is quite evident in many derogatory terms used that employ the usage of the word "Indio".

  • oh,is that so?I didn't know that...

  • I liked this movie for what it was, in response to responses:

There was no gay sub plot, he was fighting between his own bloodlust and one set of gods and curiosity with a new religion.. it was all symbolism for current scandinavian youth and what part social constructs play etc. etc. blah blah

Peruvians are descendants of Incans, Inca has never had anything to do with Mexico, you are all argueing and you're all wrong

  • man,I don't see your point...all I ever said was that today's latinos,chicanos,indians,mestizos...-or whatever else you wanna'call them-have close ancestral links with the original indian natives of america, nothing more...

  • @steveharrismetalgod who the fuck cares about latinos they have a piece of shit culture anyway and smell bad. SPANIARDS are different though...

  • @chiprommel...yeah,right...I hope, for your sake, you're not older than 8-10 years old kiddo...otherwise,you're a helpless retard and God have mercy on your soul-amen...

  • @steveharrismetalgod The christ god is false. Christian metal fans are the most lame people around. Go fuck yourself.

  • great movie! didnt see it but it really seems to catch the viking way of life

  • Where is the TECHNO VIKING in this movie..? just because of that....it gets an A-

  • theres no such thing, only a viking headbanging in one second

  • That viking was headbanging forever in the movie, like it went on for a couple minutes and that was all the scene was. I tried watching this movie when I was on netflix but honestly I thought it really sucked and didnt even make it half way through before I backed out of it. aha

  • Alright someone needs to figure out what this song is!!!

  • On another copy of this video on YouTube, the description states that it's by Andrew W.K.

  • Just finished watching it. Was extremely impressive. Finally an impressive viking film since Douglass' classic. Anyways, if you're searching for it, Netflix has it to rent.

  • There sure was a whole lot of dramatic walking and running going on back then.

  • Maybe they were compensating for the lack of dramatic car chases.

  • This tuesday!! And get ready for alot of Black Metal as well!!!

  • Point Break, wants its soundtrack back

  • Looks awesome.

  • best move ever made

  • holy fucking vikings

  • at 31 seconds looks like Gros Morne National park New Foundland.

  • LongLocksofHair&BEARD(mind you)+woodman ship-correct bark or time to fashion a sweeping tool=Instant VIKING WISK. i support this trailor 100%, like I said, Native American tribes fended off the Chinese and likely West Africans before so depicting the PAiute Cerimonial dress would be nice, also i guess you can say the VIkgs were the men who worked hardest and people like the Scottish and Irish monks or men who involve themselves in ScottishRite could piggy back on the work vikngs did on the route

  • Please whats the name of the song in this trailer?

  • Amazing. Can't wait to see this at Angelica.

  • Wow. I love this. Lighten up, people.

  • greatest trailer ever

  • nice trailer.... not

  • worst trailer ave ever seen..

  • not every viking had blue eyes and blond hair or red...

  • I wasn't aware that vikings (from which I decend) had such long flowing and well groomed hair and sat on treebranches headbanging to rock? Well... I guess I was wrong all along...

  • dead wrong.

  • ZBRMusic, I didn't see anyone headbanging to rock in this clip. You shouldn't exaggerate. So you don't think people were capable of grooming? You don't think people had long flowing hair? Did they visit the barber? Come on, get a life.

  • 0:44 ... A carefully wellgroomed fellow is headbanging to rock music.

I have a wellfunctioning life, that also includes humor.

  • ZBRMusic, ok I see your point...lol That is kind of ridiculous and hilarious at the same time. I wonder if this movie is going to be any good at all.

  • As long as I have just watched this trailer I can solve the Israel and Palestine conflict

  • ...solve it, but with a lot of bloodshed.

  • Comment removed

  • As long as I had just watched this trailer, I could fight a baboon.

  • does someone know whats the name of the song thats played when the vikings burn down the little church? not in the trailer, but in the movie! i must know that song before or i will never be able to sleep againg.

  • Entrance by Dimmu Borgir

  • critics aren't artists and never can be. that's hollywood for you!! if you go to the official myspace page you'll find my photograph, which also urges you to sprint into the woods naked, hunt and then leap upon an enormously powerful, giant, stud moose and gnaw his throat out or commit blood eagle on yourself.

historic comment:it would be badass if you touched upon the story of the redhaired dress women would wear. donning what i believe to be last of the vikings' scalp furs and strands director

  • ERR: PAIUTE CEREMONIAL DRESS

  • what do u think about the idea of Hewbrews, being constantly depicted in ancient art as red, and redhaired...something's up with that. The redhaired race..yeah the bearded viking pic is me and my heritage is from northern Norway and established in Oslo also.

  • This is going to be the greatest movie ever!

    Praise be to Odin!

  • This song convinced me to quit my job to pursue discoveries. Like what it feels like to strangle a man and feel his life leave my grip

  • Does anyone know how/when/where I can get a hold of or see this movie? (I live in the US)

  • this trailer puts me in fuckin attack mode.

  • Heathendude if you are in some way responsible for the making of this film, than you are truly a special person. thank you. this trailer makes me want to rape a man. it makes me want to melt the polar ice caps. i want to hug a child to protect it from my kill energy and shoot death rays out of me in all directions at cannibals.

  • after i hear this song i can smell fear.

  • this song makes me wanna do cocaine

  • This trailer makes me want to stand on top of a mountain and hurl thunderbolts at everything in sight. I want to rip the eyes from my own head and fight a bear. I want to burn a village while weeping and tear a giant wooden cross apart with my bear hands. I will name my son "severed ways" and he will kill me while i sleep.

  • greatest song written by man.

  • My wife and I are going to be listening to this when we conceive our 1st son

And that son will be birthed a full grown man

  • And his name will be remembered as the SAVIOR

  • This video makes me want to sit in horse stance and punch the air in slow motion. Makes me want to kill a deer with my teeth while screaming VICTORY

  • yeah I'm gonna see it next week here at Buenos Aires

  • whats the song, this looks awsome, im gonna see this and until the light takes us

  • this is awesome. what is the song?

  • ANDREW W.K.

  • Why would there be a cross in North America in 1007 AD?

  • prehaps teh mormon faith is real lmao

  • The Vikings were already in the process of becoming Christianized by then, so the presence of a cross is at the very least possible, and probably likely. According to the Greenlander's Saga, Leif Erikson himself converted circa 1000 during a trip to Norway. And they say converts tend to be more zealous . . .

  • The thing about it in Revolver made it out to be a documentary.

  • looks great how can I see it?

  • It will be distributed by Magnolia in the United States this spring. Other territories to follow!

  • Canada too?
