This benchmark is somehow wrong, i have the gtx 295 , and i got with the same settings Total Frames: 3107, Total Time: 51,01s Average Framerate: 60,91 Max. Framerate: 100,12 (Frame:502, 6,54s)

 Min. Framerate: 40,75 (Frame:1226, 17,99s)

That rersults...

But no offence, ATI´s card is in terms of speed better...

Radeon came out with the 4870 x2 back then because it was losing to nvidia. nvidia responded with the gtx 295 which is also a dual core and its equivalent to the 4970 x2 NOT to the 5970. And today radeon's 5870 was losing to the 480 gtx so radeon had to respond with a 5970 radeon. History is repeating itself and when Nvidia comes out with a dual gpu with DDR5 ram, which im sure is responsible for lower power consumption. Nvidia will unanimously be number 1.

yeah framerate is good but if you watch it in a different way the movement is bumpy, every half a second it spikes and moves fast then stop and repeat. Not smooth if you ask me. watch a single object as it moves across the screen and you will see it is jerky movement.

If you have bought a ATI card you'll need to buy a 480 and sli it if you want to play the upcoming tesselated games this summer. Otherwhise you must deal with 10 fps from 5970. So sad..

Actually, the 480 SLi outperforms a 5970 cross. Singled out, the 5970 outperforms the 480 by as much as 80%. There were perhaps 1 or 2 benches that the 480 topped the 5970. Those benchmarks were with tessellation 2 games.

Not at all. If you want to buy a single card (as in one purchase), the 5970 is your best bet. In the benchmarks, the 5970 beats the 480 on all games except 2. Even on tessellation games the 5970 wins. For SLi, the 480 wins.

Nvidia likes to screw over the customers a lot. They know tessellation is going to be hot, so they make a card that you will need two of to play high graphic tessellation games with.
