It tends to weaken your chin when your head kicked by Cro Cop and get nailed on the chin by Henderson. The UFC may be the best now, but back then, them and Pride were on the same level.
I wouldn't really consider A.S as pride since he wasn't established as a star and wasn't at his full potential including having not much fights in the Pride organization. Hendo hasn't really done much in the UFC except winning a controversial decision over rich. Chuck losing to rampage isn't a bad thing but he did beat overeem. This was before his reign as a champion. Mark coleman won the openweight grand prix and challenge the #1/2 heavyweight.

@ChicagoProdigy well, ufc has atm 70-80% of the top fighters in each division, that is very apparent especially in HW, strikeforce got only overeem, who could probably make top 5 in HW, the rest is packed with ufc guys such as JDS, lesnar, cain, carwin etc
same goes for LHW, overall UFC has more good fighers, in dec 2011 theres gonna be lesnar vs overeem fight, i think overeem will fuckup lesnar, i think he'd do much better if he went to ufc instead of staying at strikerforce, overall UFC>SF

regardless of sylvia's ranking at the time, he is a poor fighter, he got that high in the rankings by beating guys who were just as poor or worse than him.
