Alot of Spear's music has a socialist tone to it that is why commercial demons stay away!!! The lyrics of this tune has that spirit as well. It also stresses the importance of education as a way to elevate yourself in society. Spear knew that in order for Rude Bwoy to be successful he would have to full up of education! Burning Spear is so underrated as a lyricist!!
Spear leaves searing memories of a beautiful childhood with this track. Bless up for this post. He is an excellent story teller and historian; such positive vibes. Man in the Hills was one of my favorite albums back in the day and it still sounds fresssshhhh. Bless the Spear
lend me your axe.....the wood dry but it's still heavy. where are the smalltimers with their "cosmetic" music? they don't stand a chance here, that's why even the comments here are too few, reason? they can't comperehend a damn thing when it comes to this music - it's DEEP, TOO DEEP. Thanks bro. please try and post the studio version of MAN IN THE HILLS.
Well, I have found it. I have been looking for it since it was stolen from me in 1992!! It's my second favourite after "Man from up in the hills". Thank you for posting.

I've been fortunate to see Spear three times. Each time brilliant and each time was fresh and, well, different than the last time. Each one teach one
