The High Templar at the start of the mission tell you they're preserving the knowlege for ones who may come "after", to help them combat the Dark Voice.

@MarkAFerguson its past the left bridge. away from the "zerg base" but i wouldn't recommend taking it on brutal difficulty as it is nearly impossible to defend and you'll lose a lot of units if you do manage to defend it. definitely take it on normal and hard difficulties though. it helps out alot.

If you can put up with Mothership lag, Artanis' Vortex ability is fantastic against Corruptors, as you can disable a load while you take out a few Hybrids. Of course, to deal with massed Corruptors, you need Psionic Storm or Stalkers, which take away potential supply for Colossi (and Corruptors can attack Colossi too!).

I wonder what the record number of kills is for this mission...

@MrDemon1911 What strategy? I used Colossi combined with Immortals, Void Rays, Carriers, and Phoenix. I also built my cannons not towards the front of the field, but against the BACK, up against the cliff wall. This funnels all Zerg into a total killing zone, and your army doesn't have to dance around as much. Also, Immortals keep your Colossi alive so you don't have to replace them and have more money for cannons, which don't affect your army count. All reinforcements are supply free ;)

@MrDemon1911 You also have to get some really clutch vortex's with your Mothership. I ran out of space on last reply. If you keep building up and don't lose your reinforcement units (the ones that spawn) you can get a nearly 300 supply army that will pwn anything (along with your cannons) except for the mass corruptor/ultralisk at the very end. Use vortex's to deal with that and use your overall game advantage to rack in max kills. I've tried again, but it's hard to beat my current record.

@DMiBY They weren't saving the knowledge to keep it from the Zerg, they were saving it so that it wouldn't get lost when they got roflstomped. Zerg didn't know they stored away the knowledge, so there'd be no reason to look for it.

You just have to buy them enough time to hide it away.

@shane87smith Well he wanted to prove that it's easy (therefore feasible) for many of the average players out there. I can easily micro, but apparently everytime I get stuck, it's cause I was using poor unit choice. O.o And Zai here ALWAYS selects the right unit (singular, that's where my problem was) to solve everything. I'm always playing it like ladder and going for a very diverse unit composition... Not a smart idea to mass gateway units here apparently... Colossi are AWESOME!!! I love them!

on normal if you go mass colossi u usually need to kill ur own units if u don't want the mission to be like an hour long if u used ur pheonix for graviton and had a little micro skill involved

An extra little tip when you start losing interceptors right click on the interceptor build on your carriers so that they automatically build them for you.

Corruption depowering pylons does sound very cool, however it'd probably be grossly overpowered considering that it would depower all of the buildings around the pylon for the duration of Corruption. It basically turns Corruption into a Mass Corruption, making ZvP highly OP.

And unless you want Corruption NERFED, I think it's better left the way it is.

Theres a hidden expansion to the mid-left of the map, if you manage to sneak a probe in here, you have another expo draining gas and minerals, this will also not be attacked untill everything else is dead.

Worked for me, but might also have been due to me focusing most of my army on the north, and standing in the forward position all the time, making the zerg focus on the army instead.

Hmm, somehow I'm a little bit confused. When I played that mission on brutal, this final or huge wave came at 2500 already and not like in your case at more than 3000. Does it depend on which kind of units you have more, so to speak e.g. more ground units than air units or not? Anyway, I made this mission, but this point confuses me.

If you simply complete this missionon brutal you get all the achievements, since in normal you only need 1500 kills and you have to kill 2500 just to pass in brutal. That's how i got my achievements.

guys, easiest way to get the achievement + easy win on brutal. place dark templars to block the entries completly, and then keep pumping out carriers and research all of their upgrades. keep saving the game, so that when u get a overseer u can load a bit back and go there before it comes. ^^

I got impatient and did it the dark templar way. You put a wall of dark templars in hold at the 3 bridges, and make sure to kill the overseers with phoenix/void.
