I have a 1978 1 ton short wb yhat i been working on for about a year now, and I love it, I been into vans since the early 80s and this is the best I have ever owned, gets tons of attention, sits up on 44's with a 8" lift and has all the flares and wing visor, and a 502 bb with a blower, when done i will post my own little presentation,
when it was new in september 1978 it came off the line 2wd. the dealership sent it to pathfinder in utah and they installed 4wd. my dad bought it when the dealership sold it as 4wd. it is the one and only.

I have a 79 G10 2WD that I inherited from my late brother... trying to keep it alive. Would like to add 4WD chassis and chair access to provide transportation / start taxi service for people who need wheelchairs, etc. Mine has 350 with Holley performance carb too. Not sure what brand the intake is. Has straight duals, no cat's, and cherry bombs. Sounds great (but yours sounds better). Would like to put flowmasters on one day. Thanks.
for whoever is curious, this van has about 450,000 miles on the truck, about 20,000 on motor. alot of people that have cool cars or trucks have another car as their daily driver. not with this vehicle. my dad can't get into another car whenever he wants. for the past 31 years this has been the only vehicle he has drove (which explains the high milage.)
My favorite thing about the van is that the van has only had 1 owner, and that one owner has been in a wheelchair for the entire time he has had the van.
Sweet! I'm happy to see another chair rider has the 4WD van bug. Always wanted a 4WD van, only ever had 2WD Chevy vans. I loved being able to see more and have a bed to rest when I wanted. No motels with accessibility issues... You may want to tag this, or title this video, as a "wheelchair accessible 4WD van" - for more exposure to the disabled drivers in the world... The newest addition is the TRUE dual exhaust, withour catalidic converters. To go along with the dual exhaust is dual FLOWMASTER super delta 40's.
