Second to settle this Michael,s age had nothing to with the lean..during the original Smooth Criminal the anti-gravity lean (if you want to know it as a great feat then stop reading nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww­wwwwwww) was done by making Michael and his backup dancers shoes that allowed them to move over thier center of gravity by keeping them in place with pegs in the floor. Just cuz Michael didn't rehearse the lean, doesn't mean he wasn't gonna do it. He didn't rehearse it on the Dangerous Tour, but did it during the actual shows. But then again who knows. AEG made him pretty skinny and frail. But nonetheless, This Is It would've been great either way.

Yes, I know about his patented gravity-defying shoes, but my point was that it takes a LOT of strength to lean, and then to heave yourself back to a vertical position, strength that while he had neumonia, and several other illnesses due to the mistreatment of him by the show's producers, he didn't have.

i should have explained more. I was watching a documentary, im not sure what one, it was just recent where they actually showed the copy of Michael's Rights to do the lean. He had someone develope it for him, but he had to pay for the rights to do it. after all the crap with court, MJ's rights ended. You can look it up on the internet, im sure you'll find something on it. But like i said, i saw it in a documentary, where they showed the legal paperwork.

i can explain why they didnt do the lean in the movie, or for this tour in general. Michael jackson actually had bought the right to use the lean. Its a specially designed mechanism attached to the floor. MJ and his dancers would walk up to it, put their feet in, and on cue the lights would come up, and it was designed to make them lead. MJ rights to use this, ended a few years ago, and he never bought the rights back...therefore thats why you dont see it in This Is It.

Actually, Michael had the rights to use the lean for the concert. If you look at the DANGEROUS World Tour rehearsals from 1991 on YouTube, they don't use the lean there. They practice the lean at the venue the night before the show.
