Cars in the Grand Touring (GT) classes are mirror images of production-based cars that are found in auto showrooms around the world. They are modified, of course, to enhance performance and take the punishment of the most demanding road tracks in the world.

I have a question, Do these cars start out their lives as street cars, then get upgraded to racecars, or are they intentionally built as racing machines?

someone correct me if im wrong but i believe that all the gars in the GT classes are production cars that have modified intieriors and i want to say thay all use the same enging but im not sure. The cars are suposed to be stock other than the fuel tank, interior, a few other things

Well I believe the Flying Lizard Porsche's are race spec 997's straight from Porsche... I think most of them are purpose built race cars... They just have the cosmetic resemblances of the production cars

That M3 was not yet properly developed in its entry year and i believe that this cars problems from 2009 have been addressed and we should see it run more competitively this year,the C6R is its key worry.

The ALMS is far from getting lame every year. They bring the most cutting edge racing out there. I like the variety they bring. The only quiet cars are the Audis or Peugeots.

The ALMS is continually becoming more lame every year. I can't stand how the socialist communist green fuel technology is ruining what used to be great racing. I wish we didn't have to live in such a soon to be communist country. I WANT LOUD CARS. I AM NOT A NASCAR PERSON, I WANT THE ROAR OF THE PANOZ ROADSTER LMP 900 BLOWING MY EARS OUT. But, its the economy stupid.

But those cars all sounded crazy awesome! I daresay stupid awesome. I dunno if ALMS uses ethanol, but ethanol race cars should actually perform better because of the higher octane.
