I used the loch-n-load just to strain my accuracy skills. I also love the chances of 1-hiting a sniper/spy/engineer/scout. But now i suck using the stock launcher =/

The statements that only the Loch n Load requires 'aim and skill' is based purely on the assumption that everyone who uses the regular G Launcher spams mindlessly. However, people demomen who take themselves seriously won't do that and try really hard to land direct hits. Seeing that this is way harder with the regular G Launcher (and the fact that it doesn't one hits weak classes), I can say the regular launcher takes more 'aim and skill' than the LnL.

Well, there's also another attribute you didn't thing about: The grenades shatter on impact with surfaces, so unless you actually hit someone with the projectile it's useless. So, the loch 'n load does take a good bit of aim to master, and it's not all about splash.

The Loch n Load is actually for Demos who CAN'T aim with their stock launcher. Shocking, I know, I was too. A clip of four grenades is much more lethal than a two grenade clip with a slight damage increase. I'm willing to bet most of the times landing four grenades will wreck more than two with increased splash and damage. Just think about it.

I will, however, agree that Loch n Load + Engie nest = dead nest.

I love the loch N load mainly because I played too much worms armageddon as a kid. Its like cheating because there is no wind to worry about...sure there is the whole other dimension but general videogame skill takes care of that but I can basically hit a target spot on from most distances in an instant. Love this gun

Loch N Load is WAY more dangerous than people think it is. It also has three times as much splash as a regular Grenade. Its like the PERFECT weapon to take out tanking engineers, too.

People just hate it because it requires aim and skill.

@MrCasual112 I used to really, really suck at aiming any launcher. Then I forced myself to use the Loch for a while. Being unable to fall back on the nade launchers spam for kills my aiming improved. Now I'm pretty good at hitting people or buildings, even from very far away.

Oh and yeah, it's amazing to use against an engie nest.

@sparrowsluck Oh man, SAME HERE, word for word. I was trying to get it, and decided to just craft it. At first I thought I wasted my mats, but then, forced to keep my aim tight, I got much better. And me 3 on Engineer nest cracking...:D.

@sparrowsluck I hear what you're saying.I used to absolutely hate playing Demo because I couldn't use the grenade launcher right.Despite that,for some reason,I decided to try out the loch-n-load,just to see how I'd do with it.The second I started using it,I was killing left and right,even when I was facing Scouts.

Now I can't stop using it.It's the ideal weapon for me.My playtime as Demo has gone up simply because using the Loch-n-Load feels right and works for me.

@sparrowsluck Yeah I forced myself to play with the Loch and I improved tenfold. Same with the Direct Hit. I hated how often I missed but I kept using it and now I rarely miss, especially when I go back to the stock launcher. I sometimes use the Buff Banner with the Direct Hit to really test my badass-ery.

it doesn't do 3 times as much splash damages as the regular grenade ( regular GL does 110 damage on a direct hit and the LnL does around 125 damage)

A "skilled" demoman wouldn't cripple himself by using the loch n load, if the grenade launcher kills more people, easier and faster.

it's only good for destroying sentry nests.

@MrCasual112 compare it to the relationship between the Direct Hit and the Rocket Launcher

the DH has a faster rocket speed, higher damage and the only con is the highly reduced splash damage (REDUCED not nonexistent), the LnL gets a slightly faster grende speed, more damage, BUT, it only carries 2 rounds, it might as well have no splash damage at all since grenades shatter on surfaces and it does 25% extra damage to you

both are weapons based on precision, but the DH is balanced

Loch n load is TRASH.

It deals less damage (per clip), you can't pipe jump and tanking engies aren't much of a problem with any demo, except the nooby meleeonly demo. Ask professionals like Lei Lei. I have decent pipe aim too.

And yes, there isn't anything about loch n load than said in description, no extra splash.

It no longer has ANY splash damage, but does about 132 on hit.

It nerved it like hell.

So, it just about sucks now.

@Arcralf I dont know what game you are playing then. I just checked the TF2 wiki (official one before you try being a smartass). Splash damage has a larger radious. Also acording to the update history the only balace related change mad to it is +10% damage so i dont know where you got the "nerved" like hell thing.
