dan deserves the hatred 100%..yes apart of him wanted to kill keith because he thought he tried to kill him in the fire but i think the majority was the fact that keith was going to marry karen and he was jealous of keith's relationship with his son lucas..like dan said the time when they started to really resent eachother was when lucas was born "he was holding MY son" & then he later said how karen was his, first. I think he just wanted his son and the love of his life to be his & not keith's

@OTHsmallvillefan Wait, what? Where was the fire again? And why did Dan think it was Keith's fault? Obviously Keith wouldn't have it in his heart to do something like that. And I agree with you about the part that Dan is not deserving of sympathy. The reason he killed Keith was 100% envy and malice, even though Keith was a good person and tried to do right by Dan, even though he always treated him horribly.

@AuroraClaire94 the fire at the end of season 2....he saw a security tape of keith in a local store buying alcohol i think and he thought that was the same bottle that was spiked. I can't remember the whole reasoning..but that was a main part. He never had full evidence to know it was keith though which is what makes the main reason he killed him obvious -ENVY i think. Basically dan is a dick, he makes a good villain but i still don't know how people can take dan's side over karen's/lucas's!-_-

@lust4anime Everyone blames Dan because he is deserving of blame. He is a despicable human being and filled with malice, envy, and selfishness. He killed his brother in cold blood over jealousy, and knew that Keith would never do something like that. How on earth was it Deb's fault?

@lust4anime He was supposed to know because he knew Keith and grew up alongside of him. He knew him well enough to know that Keith didn't have it in his heart to do something like that. Again, how is it Deb's fault? Dan was a controlling and abusive liar from day one of the show. Slowly it made her insane because she tried to hold on to the relationship, thinking it was the right thing to do, and that's what happens when you hold onto unhealthy relationships.

do you have the scene...can't remember the season, wanna say 6?...it's right after Dan was at the hospital to get his new heart but the stupid dog eats it...the scene where he goes to the ocean and starts screaming at God about how tired he is of everything and wants to die and he starts walking into the ocean and then the scene cuts to him sitting on the beach and staring at it as if he had had an epiphany of some sort. I just love that whole scene, that was a tear-jerker for me
