Sure i understand about the whole happy atmosphere about the place, But why the hell do americans have to clap to EVERYTHING.... sure clap when they win something, BUT WHEN THEY SPIN THE WHEEL? i mean what the fuck
@madmanadam1 I attended a taping back in March 2008. Charlie O'Donnell said something like, "If Vanna is clapping down there, you should be clapping up here." She claps while the wheel is in motion, so the audience must clap as well.
Technically, wouldn't that mean Australians like you don't speak English either? Then what is it that you just typed? This American thinks you should get your head screwed on the right way before you comment.
American is not a language in and of itself -- it is just a dialect of English, much like your "Queen's English". They're the same language, albeit with a few minor differences.
I think there were longer rounds. Somewhere on here there's a video of contestants trying to solve "Rave Reviews" and I have a round on tape where the puzzle was "Flute & Piccolo" and that took a little while to solve.

I've noticed that Megaword, more often than not in the clips I've seen, is always in the "$10,000 Wedge" round.
And yeah, Megaword was a bad, bad idea.

Frankly, this was one reason I always loved to watch WOF season 12, to hear how Pat would mock the Megaword category that particular night.

No we speak the Queen's English, you speak American. I happen to be fluent in both languages.

American isn't a language my friend.
imppy725 2 years ago
I concur. Australian English is just as much a diverse dialect, maybe even more so, than American (because we have all that stupid slang!)
bluemukaki 2 years ago
We have our fair share of stupid slang here in the states. Frankly it annoys the hell out of me.

simpsonsfan2007 3 years ago
There's another Megaword puzzle that took even longer. The word was "Oxidized" I think they went through the entire alphabet before it got solved.

I just watched that video and it did sound like they used the whole alphabet
