@scorpirus Actually, the game is Rush 'N' Attack in the ARCADE ports, too. It's only called "Rush 'N' Attack" so we, America, would have avoided ANOTHER war with Russia! However, the Japanese and European names for this game is "Green Beret". Why we call it "Rush 'N' Attack", well, that's just STUPID! ;)
@Angsc09 You got that DAMN right!! Capcom ALSO had awesome music! They STILL do! ;) Mega Man 2, Rush 'N' Attack, The Goonies, Street Fighter II and MUCH more!
I haven't played this game (honestly, when I saw the word Rush, Megaman came to mind), but then I remembered the game play from another video, something about this game being based off a game only in Japan or something.
One of the best soundtracks ever!!

If they're threatening enough to develop a secret weapon, how come they cannot fire at some saboteur running in their base?
Undechypheredcrab 1 year ago 2
There is a secret code in the title
"russian attack" haha

Very underrated Konami game for the NES.....was overshadowed by Castlevania and Contra.

In the NES, you had to destroy a nuke. In the arcade, you had to rescue POWs..

My GOD I LOVE this game! Game play and soundtrack are intense. I spent so many nights trying to beat this game, and "Section Z" about the same time.
I see you have tons of these video game music vids, and I'm only on 39 but I hope I come across Section Z later

lol he defeats the entire russian army with punches and then climbs over a jagged wire fence

I love how Konami recycled a lot of their music in games like Jackal, Metal Gear, Rush N Attack and Life Force.
beast6228 1 year ago
One of the very best examples of 8-bit gaming music, period. Even today, more than 20 years later, the music from this game is still excellent.

wasnt this game originally called Russian Attack in the arcades? its been a long time =^P
scorpirus 1 year ago
oh boy. 20 years later I get the pun.
where I live (s. am.) the arcade machines were named "green beret". dunno if those were asian boards, though.
BTW, as far as I remember the NES port was even better than the arcade version

Great, great, GREAT memories with this game, when I was 6-8 years old. Nearly 2 years gameplay, completed 5-6 times + 1 time with 2 players-mod.
Don't have NES anymore, but I'm still playing this classic with vNES :) Never forget this one.
