  • @66kaya1984 Never tried

  • How do you get media center for vista?

  • @DaAsianBoyZ Comes with Home Premium and Ultimate.

  • windows 7 beta and final release both have internet tv, you just have to go to options and do an automatic download, after download completes, it will appear

  • y do u have so many laptops mate dont get me wrong its cool but y

  • Windows Xp is King!

  • windows 7 = (Y)

    windows vista = (N)

  • the laptop in the middle is just like my bro one expect he got th white special edition

  • I have Beta build 7000 and also 6000 or something like that...

  • hey can you send me a link for windows xp windows media center

  • xp winz

  • It is really different on Windows 7 version because you using a Windows 7 RC version. My Windows 7 ?Ultimate computer have a changes including the intro of Windows Media Center

  • @jason24568 Come to think of it, so true.

  • IBM ThinkPad has no Touchpad but it uses only an old fashioned mini red ball

  • @jason24568 Very few of them are like that now, most new ones have trackpads.

  • @jason24568 Most new ones have Touchpads as well.

  • @jamesrschultz Thanks but I give you accidentally a two comments repeatedly!!! xD

  • On the windows 7 version you can search for a song just by typing the first few letters, comes in handy if you have a mess of songs.

  • im using right now the laptop in the middle

  • Lol Me To.But It Breaks Faster!

  • With Vista Media Center I am able to have all of my DVDs in there and it shows an image of the DVD cover to make it easy to scroll through the 300 DVDs on my computer. I had to change something in the registry to do this. Is it possible to do that on Windows 7?

  • Not that I know of- I wouldn't worry about it.

  • no offense but wmc is the biggset resource pig ever.

  • @aladinsarsipeus Runs fine on my 2.2ghz, 2gb, 1gb Video card machine

  • they took out so many features in 7 :(

  • You should upgrade the RAM XP Media Center Edition needs at least 1 GB or More of RAM to run fast. I had xp Media Center Edition 2005 with a half a gig of RAM and it was so slow, then I upgraded it to a gig and a half of RAM 1.5 GB it was much much faster.

  • Did you just say 4ghz cpu for the middle computer dammmm there is no laptop with a 4ghz cpu you might want to make sure you know what you are talking about.

  • 4GHz as in a dual core of 2GHz. lol, I just kid myself sometimes.

  • @jamesrschultz

Actually it's really is 2Ghz even though you have four cores it doesn't mean it utilizes those cores like adding up the Ghz + cores. Even if the software has been coded to utilize the four cores it just doesn't add up that way, it just deciphers the information amongst 4 pipelines simultaneously with some random information on each core at 2Ghz.

Overclocking a laptop over 4ghz is possible though with a special water block and external cooling kit attached to the laptop.

  • @themixturemedia you dont just combine all cores like quad core 2ghz 2+2+2+2 = 8ghz doesnt work that way.

  • what the hell are you talking about I have a quad core 2.5ghz and I know its only 2.5 ghz not 10ghz its 2.5 ghz

  • yeh he probably got told that when he bought it. lots of dodgy salesmen trick people by saying that quadcore means 4 times the clock frequency, just totaly not true

  • my windows 7 laptop is faster then my windows vista desktop and the desktop hase higher specs :P

  • Is there any way to put the windows vista media center on windows 7? The windows vista media center works fine on my old laptop but for some reason, the windows 7 media center runs really crappy on my new desktop that i just built.

  • Not that I know of, Windows 7's should work fine.

  • Well, it does until i play music or a video. Then it starts getting slower and slower. I can play Crysis hours on end with no hitch but then i go into the media center just to listen to a song and it hangs up lol

  • media center in windows 7 is completely different in the final version. this video was made when the beta version of windows 7 was released

  • Thanks for the video, great job bro.

  • fuck u

  • i love my win 7 pc =)

  • i LOVE my WINDOWS 7 laptop!!!! its the bomb!!!!! mac now sucks compared to windows 7! :P

  • @R3alDude me too

  • I really love Windows Media Center in Windows 7, but I'm sorry, as cool as it is, it's a bitch to use and iTunes is very simple and much more efficient and easy to use. I don't like Macs, but iTunes is the only good music player out there for me. And Media Player, oh hell no.

  • video begins in 1:51 ends in 8:00

  • why do they still have betas for windows 7 its out wtf come on you dont need the beta

  • @xxdavidhaloxx use your brain and look at the date the vid was made

  • mac sucks my dick

  • @EdgelessFire

No offense... Windows sucks my u no wat!!!

  • lol we have those ibm laptops at my school exept its xp just thought it was weird

    anyways nice vid =)

  • Really nice review bro... i just realize there is windows media center also on xp and vista after seeing your video here... but the old stuffs is crap... windows 7 awesome, hope this time windows 7 will kick's mac apple? their stuffs are too much expensive haha...

  • Thanks, I think that Windows 7 is better than Mac OS at this point.

  • windows 7 kicks mac's butt

  • i meant to say a laptop/desktop with win7 pwns a mac (desktop/laptop). i know its called osx, i have it!

  • everybody is speaking computer language lol lol lol away :) :) :>

  • ahhaah did i even hit it :D

  • you got it all wrong the think pad came with 2000 the hp came with vista premium and its a crappy version of dv dv6000 is best thats what i got and the linovo came with vista so the only one your not messing up at this time is the hp it messes up the hard drive if you load in a different os then what it came with what its built for your talking to a 15 year computer service vet trust me you upgrade a computer from its primary opperating system the hard drive will mess up and wont work affr

  • No, you got it all wrong. You also spelled Lenovo wrong. The Lenovo came with XP. The HP Pavilion came with Vista. What you run on a computer has NO EFFECT on the disk. It was a hardare problem with the planar and IDE pin jumper. That Thinkpad T42 came with XP, and so did the Z61t. Come on dude, learn PCs.

  • Sure, that makes ense. Then explain why I have a hard drive array with a 20 gig WD hard drive that came with 98SE in a Compaq Presario more than 10 years ago?

  • brit

  • The new sports tools in Windows 7 MC is really nice. You can track individual players with real-time stats for example; shows all sports programs showing at that moment with a preview screen; and a few other things. Looks really sharp and many reviews seem to completely skip it.

  • and there goes the battery, obviously vista xD

    nice review :D

dont really use it, got winamp, its nice for movies though

  • You have to update media center to get the internet tv

  • I also hate iTunes, I also have to use it to sync my iPhone, i hate it so much.

Why does apple deliberately make it slow in windows and only in windows. In my new Windows 7, nothing crashes, except the iTunes, surprise, surprise. Everything runs smoothly in my Windows 7...except iTunes and safari, even other browsers like Firefox, Opera and Chrome run smoothly. Ihave to say Vista was kind of slow.

  • IT's true lol i've been using windows 7 since RC1 and i've had 5 blue screen.... ALL OF THEM occurred when i was using Itunes and only itunes (nothing in the background)!

  • I love the GUI of media center, it's very slick and easy to use

  • I was just using the S-Video out port that was on my video card. If you don't have one you can get a converter or use HDMI if you have the appropriate hardware. (hdtv - hdmi supported card, etc..)

  • Im Use The New Windows 7 Beta And it is Very Nice In Theme And Aero And More Than That

  • From the point they started with media centre IT SUCKED.

Front Row is way better in my opinion.

    btw great review..!

  • Great review

  • windows 7 is the best I think, on my notebook with vista I changed the style and now it looks like windows 7

btw. I have the same notbook like that in the middle ;D

  • Windows 7, a new UI, faster, and so much better than XP and Vista (together). Plus, 7 runs very smoothly on PC's now. Vista used to eat at least 51% of my 4 gigs, 7 uses 33%.

  • Really my vista desktop eated like 20% of my 6 gig bdesktop which was about 2000mb

  • nice video... but vista is hell slower than xp... i don't know about 7.

  • Windows 7s is much quicker than both XP and Vista.

  • I used windows xp for 7 years than I tried vista. It looked cool at first but It was slow as hell. I went back to xp. I tried windows 7 and I will not ever go back. Windows 7 FTW.

  • YES! My life story.

  • I hope kids won't turn this into a trend like ipods. windows xp and vista are good My wonder is if I upgrade will I loose all my files cause I'm getting a hp touchsmart tx2 and I'm wondering if i upgrade it will take away my free full microsoft office and muvee real. Windows vista is awesome why is microsoft making there other products look like shit I see there saying upgrade to windows 7 it will be awesome dont be left behind with vista and xp. I mean whats wrong with a vista? there great.

  • Sounds like you need some help from the kid. If you do the 'upgrade' option, you will lose nothing. If you do a 'custom' option and format and reinstall Windows, everything will be lost. By the way, in line 5, and word 7, you meant 'their' not there. And, Vista is wrong in about every aspect. Performance, compatibility, reliability, and even out of the box functionality.

  • Nice grammar. So windows vista are terrible I'm using one and its fine. By the way where can you get media center for vista also can't you watch internet tv with a vista anyway? So why are they making a big deal about watching tv with a computer?

  • nvm about media center i just realized My aunts vista was a buissnes and it doesnt have it installed

  • Yeah, Business doesn't have it, only Home Premium and Ultimate. Only Media Center on laptops (mobility screening at Windows install) can have Internet TV (Beta) right now. It's a big deal because it's still rather new right now and the quality in Media Center is much better than what else is available right now.

  • I think my home premium desktop has internet tv I went and it had a bunch of channels. I know vista isn't the best but its good depending how you use it. I know they have technical problems but hey no computer is a pure gold they all have downs and hey windows 7 will probally have some technical problems too when there pcs are realised.

  • I agree. Vista is good at some stuff, but I like 7 more. I guess I was wrong about the laptops then... Enjoy!!

  • Besides some of the bugs have been fixed out and you could just upgrade your pcs gear change the proccesor and RAM and some other things and its good to go. And there always a reason why a pc is slow either you did something to it or it has a virus or too much memory storage. Cause computers just start working slow for no reason. I think the best thing vistas are good at is Media. I live in a household full of people who don't know any real stuff about computers.

  • I dont really think m$ have set out to make vista look shit as you describe it, just windows7 has new features, and i;ve found the beta of 7 to be so good i'll never go back !

  • Hmm I wonder it will be Ironic if windows 7 will have a bunch of bugs and glitches like vsita and everyone was saying it was going to be awesome. Remember everyone your using the beta not the actually thing so you don't know what could happen to the actually pc. Just get a tv tuner to get signals.

  • well i'm running 7100 with a dual dvb-t / analog / fm card, on install the fm would not work, now a month later, I jus found last night the fm works, i guess windows auto update did its job for once. - win 7 is not perfect, biggest bug is hibernate crashes my motherboard so i have to pull plug to reboot, apart from that 100% behind this wn7

  • No problems with hibernation here, push the PC button my Media Center remote and it goes to Sleep... :)

  • Think positive instead of negative !

  • Positive of what? I think vista and window 7 are more of media use window xp is more of a gaming and productive use. No pc is perfect next thing you know after windows 7 a new microsoft will probaly come out and you guys will shit on windows 7 for not being like the newest windows. I really don't care about personal opinions cause if you never had a vista you shouldn't be the on to talk if you got a upgrade screwed it up. I think some people only hate vista cause everyone else is doing it.

  • the windows 7 mce is different in the rc

  • Yes it is, I use that now and the RTM soon.

  • Cool

  • haha vista sucks... i got windows 7

  • isnt released yet windows 7 is a beta and have mayor issues with security

  • Helpful.

  • Nice little demonstration here. Personally I was looking to see what Win7's is like, having used the other two and wondering what the hype is. I'm currently hesitant to upgrade from Vista for something that I'll have to wipe clean & reinstall relatively soon, but that I might run into problems with and have minimal support available for it.

    Nonetheless, nice vid. 5*

  • great video, just fyi you can use winamp to sync to ipods now

  • Nice, the only thing I find annoying is, if you are already listening to a song on Media Center, then why the need for a "Buy" option.. You clearly have the song already lol and when I do press it, it opens up a browser which isn't handy since it is connected to my television and i can only navigate by remote.

  • my media centre on vista home premium opens instantly, must be your laptop.

  • Mine would too, but I removed the process from startup for a slightly faster boot time.

  • In the RC the sounds are much more different than vista

  • Thanks James for the demonstration. I personally like the xp version. Simple and easy is for me. I like the save all that power for my gaming experience. I recommend xp to all users who like to use alot of pc power. For media and basic usage vista and 7 is good to use, as well as xp. can not got wrong with all.

  • The first 2 minutes is a total waste of time. All you see is three laptops with the same wallpaper. Bloody hell.

  • I'm sorry to have wasted your time, but that part was for people who know computer specs. I'm sorry you do not qualify.

  • I apologize for stereotyping you. I do have more videos of the Windows 7 RC1 coming.

  • When your phone started ringing, I started reaching for mine. =D

  • Thanks for the comparison. I just wanted to let you know that in the Windows 7 RC Build 7100, the added the Internet TV to the WMC.

  • Really? I have that same build running right now, and I just checked, and I don't have it. I have it on a laptop, how about you? (It seems to make a difference.)

  • Yeah I also have the TV thing but nothing to recieve singals with.

  • These videos are great. Thanks. I just bought a refurbished T41.

  • i have vista media center and its pretty cool

  • lol, that Vista laptop sucks, my P4 @ 3.66GHz, starts Media Center faster than that.

Windows, has always looked better than Apple's OS.

  • I found out I had a virus, but the laptop is very good. It has 4GB of RAM, and a decent processor. But that was just a bad copy of Windows.

  • ah, ok.

    That'll do it, lol.

  • and actually starting the application is mostly harddrive dependant.

  • Well, my HDD is a Western Digital HDD, SATA roughly 240GB.

    Model #: WDC WD2500JD-00HBC0

  • looks are not everything.

  • Maybe not, but I have used OS X and Windows 7 and in terms of stability Windows 7 is loads better than OS X, and even more in looks.

  • Not to mention the fact that Windows Media Center blows away Apple's almost useless rendition called Front Row.

  • Can you tell me if I can get rid of the thumbnails for music and videos in Wndows 7 media ceter and just have a list instead?

I can't stand using the thumbnails/icons its so annoying. Also I want a virtical list if possible

  • I don't think that is possible. Sorry

  • I'm running windows7 7077 now. and once again it's changed, not so much but the interface is a little cooler, the starting/opening of the program is different, of course they change some sounds, nothing really that much different.

  • nice vid

  • i have the pc in the middle ^^ he is always so hot xD

  • Yes, that is when the Beta time expires. (7/1/09)

  • Nice i cant till October 20th i'm pretty sure that's when windows 7 will be out :)

  • Oh jeeze I wish. I think it's around November of 2010. It's going to be for ever.

  • no its not im pretty sure its coming out this year

  • I wish but they don't even have RTM out yet, and that's about a 8 month step.l :(

  • Another brilliant video by you.

Please don't stop making videos, I love all your videos.

On that note you reckon you coul look into making an IE8 Review? I can't find one decent review, and I watch all your videos and your reviews are top notch, so I'd love a review of ie8 from you :)

  • Thanks! I'll have one up in a day or two.

  • itunes is the worst player ever designed, quicktime also! The best example of bloatware!

  • YES!

  • that's sooo true, iTunes is crapware and so is quicktime.

I only use quicktime to play my cell phone videos

  • quicktimealternative is a good option (it will install only the codec)

  • Haha, no problem!
