Also The Horrors wear all black most of the time and have black hair, but their music isn't pop punk and the vocals aren't whiny; therefore, they too are NOT emo.  Emo is more of an image thing, and it's usually amongst shitty pop punk bands and the kids who listen to them and have shit makeup and black hair and say they're depressed and cut themselves.

Emo is a genre of music, i.e. emotional hardcore, and no it is not My Chemical Romance or Fall Out Boy, rather stuff like Rites of Spring or earlier Sunny Day Real Estate. Emotive means they express some kinds of emotions. The emo fashion was Goth influenced but alot weared down to not get too dark and mystical. I love hardcore punk and lot's of emos do. Cancer Bats is another good example, i love'em, same as with these, love'em. but this is not emo
