I can't manage to have google verify my website. It appears since your video they've changed their layout. I downloaded the HTML file, but I can't find what my root file is. Can you help me find my root file or post a new video?
Odd...you are using Easy Web Publisher correct? If so, are you using izFree or what? (If the problem persists I suggest switching to Byethost, as I can provide more support)
This video was created before iWeb 09 came out..or before I got my hands on it anyways. I have since upgraded form iWeb 08 (used in this video) to iWeb 09 (used in my more recent videos)
You are using Easy iWeb Publisher correct? Double check the settings and then tell me what's up, possibly a PM with some images to help me diagnose the problem :)
Depends on the size of you site, could take up to 45 minutes on the first upload, but after that you can only upload changed files which makes it shorter.
Not at all! The FTP settings are based on your username and can be found by clicking the view FTP settings under FTP manager once you've logged in to VistaPanel. You can add your domain name by clicking on addon domain under the Domains once you've logged in to VistaPanel
I think so, also I saw that some people complained about not being able to sign up at all. If this is the case, I suggest Byethost, they have much better up-time than izFree, more memory space, and are easy to use.
Whenever you want to update your site, you just re-upload it. If you use Easy iWeb Publisher as your FTP client (which I suggest you do) you can select to "Upload only changed files" so that it will update anything in your site that you changed. For more info watch parts 2 & 3.
yeah, you should really try Firefox. IE is just slow and is a huge headache for website designers because it can't handle PNG files, which is a popular file format for images with a transparent background
how the hell do you load up your website design on iweb if you want to edit it???

Can you help me find my root file?
Victorfcp4 1 year ago
@Victorfcp4 The root is simply where you upload you files.
iMaster33 1 year ago

Go to online file manager in your byethost control panel and navigate to /YOURDOMAIN/htdocs/ upload the file there
iMaster33 2 years ago
it'll be something like /YOURDOMAIN/htdocs/
iMaster33 2 years ago
wherever you want to upload you files.
iMaster33 2 years ago
did you enter the correct nameservers? You don't need to use the sitebuilder, just upload your files.
iMaster33 2 years ago
I tried to configure using public_html and it is telling me that this folder does not exist

iMaster33 2 years ago
I am using 00freehost, so try byethost? I didn't use izFree cause when i try to sign up it gives me an error
orchidabt03 2 years ago
Yeah, apparently is not accepting new users. But you don't HAVE to switch, but I, personally, can't provide support for anything other than Byethost

Thank you for your help, no one else I have talked to knows what I am talking about so it is very much appreciated!

In iWeb, where you set it to publish to a folder, you should be able to choose that location yourself

iMaster33 2 years ago

x0lovechildx0 2 years ago

do u have to pay a every month for the domain name?
Havoc246 2 years ago
It is usually a yearly payment of $10-20 (depending on type)

donkeydiet 2 years ago
You don't sign up for iWeb, it comes on every Mac.
iMaster33 2 years ago
i know but i just learned u need to pay cause it came with my mac book but it wont make a site
donkeydiet 2 years ago
iWeb is completely free of charge. You just need to make sure that you are publishing to a local folder and NOT MobileMe (which is not free)
iMaster33 2 years ago
I have a question. How do you update the site that you make after publishing it to your domain name?
Tomsriversmith 2 years ago
Whenever you want to update your site, you just re-upload it. If you use Easy iWeb Publisher as your FTP client (which I suggest you do) you can select to "Upload only changed files" so that it will update anything in your site that you changed. For more info watch parts 2 & 3.

I won't be able to sign up on izFree because the community page isn't accepting any new account registrations
ossclubeta 2 years ago
I know, they stopped accepting new registrants. I am now using ByetHost and I suggest you try it out! byethost(dot)com
iMaster33 2 years ago
hmm, looks like almost every single website is trying to get rid of IE
ossclubeta 2 years ago
what do you mean?
iMaster33 2 years ago
Sorry, most of the time when I am using Internet Explorer, most of the websites I visit recommend using a different browser.
ossclubeta 2 years ago
yeah, you should really try Firefox. IE is just slow and is a huge headache for website designers because it can't handle PNG files, which is a popular file format for images with a transparent background
iMaster33 2 years ago
IDK y I suggested firefox, safari is better in my opinion, but Firefox is a little more familiar for Windows users
iMaster33 2 years ago
Izfree isnt working it says they arent taking new sign ups

TheCompuGeeks 2 years ago
