After the Dreamcast ceased production, Super Monkey Ball was created by Sega especially with the Gamecube's cute looks in mind. It was a little grating to see the Xbox get Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 for the same price but that's business. I'd still rather play this game on the console and controller that it was created for, the cute Cube. I wonder whether Super Monkey Ball, with its emphasis on simplicity and control was an influence on the Wii when you look at some of the Wii Sportt games.

I believe Super Monkey Ball was ear marked for orginally for the Dreamcast, based on Monkey Ball the arcade game back in 2000 which had a banana as a joystick. Production was then moved over to the Gamecube.

Regardless of that, I do like the series even though it dipped a bit with SMB Adventure and SMB Touch and Roll.
