  • with the big valves in the J heads it should breathe pretty damned good. ive got a stocker 318 in my hot rod belevedere, but it does have those same, very nice rams horn manifolds. dont dubt the factory design, those damn things flow at least two inches, and could probably be ported out yet. even with a two barrell carb, the girl hauls ass! two city blocks it goes from zero to 90 mph! fucking insane!

  • When we washed the engine we got a fair amount of water inside. This was due to the rotten old gaskets on the original engine. Even after an oil and filter change - it still blew steam for a good while.

The engine actually had an average compression test of about 135psi.

  • wow u commented a year ago lol

  • You said you swapped over a set of J heads. Do they have the 2.02 or 1.88 intake valves? Is this installed in a vehicle yet?

  • It did indeed have the 2.02 valves.

This 318 was stuffed into (and for Mr Hillbilly Banjo) A super redneck dudes truck for a couple of hundred bucks. Kool dude to hang out with, fell asleep at the wheel and totalled it.

  • need some 20W50 to keep that blow by down!!
