  • can you post a link to the original in it entirety. I can t find. i remember seeing it.

  • As much as I think news companies that file DMCA's against anything that fits under fair use should be disqualified from using fair use themselves and support the general abuse of that process that is used, I think this woman's behaviour has been mischaracterized rather dramatically.

The group that setup the event was very right wing, even if everyone there wasn't, and if you are willing to stand in a crowd that is holding signs calling your President Hitler, then you are supporting it...

  • cont...

Having said that, while I do not think the woman is at all representative of the tea baggers as they are called (a rather unfortunate choice of name) I think she is spot on on most of what she says and it would have been a better interview, but CNN can't interview everyone, and interviewing her would not actually have been representing the cause as presented by the people that setup the protest.

Yes not everyone there was ultra right wing, but the organizers were.

  • Anyones *

  • What right do the goverment have to Antibes money

  • @Orca40 So.. you have no rebuttal, and you are going to stick your head in the ground like an ostrich, good to know.

  • @Orca40 Are you actually trying to twist my own words in some vague effort to respond with a sort of.. idiotic semantic mimicry?

Logic is obviously absent from what you previously said to ss as it is your opinion and in no way an established fact, as I pointed out.. are you lacking in the area of comprehension, or just trying to act intelligent?

And trying to say that CNN is not a biased network is just.. laughable, its like calling MSNBC conservative, and Fox liberal it's bullshit period.

  • @Orca40 You made no logical arguement, and failed to refute his rebuttal, you are simply wrong.

  • Kill the old media.

  • @Orca40 They had Beck because he hates all government. It sounded great to them when Bush was in office but now that it's democrats, they can't have him complaining about the government when the dems are in power. Don't worry, though, come next election, there will be a republican president and a republican majority in Congress and CNN will want him back. I doubt Fox will let him go, though. He's their little cash-cow.

  • Heh, Ive always known CNN was biased and way liberal. They just happened to be biased against what everyone else was biased against for 8 years, so they were able to get away with it. Now that the mood has shifted, they are starting to get a little hot under the collar.

  • All of the mainstream news organizations are corrupted. Their tactic is to divide and concur.

  • Your God, he created everything from nothing while he came from from nothing itself using the lie that he is divine.

( Your holy word for forever existing. )

I'm tolerant of your religion and its BS but not when you try to bring it to the internet.

Kindly, show me some evidence that proves God exists.

( Not, not the Bible. That is like when you get your mom to write a false note on why you missed school. )

  • The beauty of the Bible is that it creates a figure that can't be proven. It's like that scene from hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy where man confronts god about the babble fish.

  • @the4straws

you say you're tolerant of religion and its BS. sounds to me like your not as tolerant as you would like people to think. sounds like you would like to censor religion from the internet. for one thing, people do not have to prove a damn thing for you. if you don't believe, thats your right. if other people believe, it's their right.centership of the internet is wrong.. if people want to worship God, that's their business, not yours, leave the internet alone.

  • Weird. I didn't see there anything extremely bad for CNN's perspective. Something that would cause they wanting to censor it. Didn't look "embarassingly unprofessional" to me, that seems to be a hard coverage to do.

  • There is no god. And this video proves that the right wing extremists pushed by Fox propaganda is behind the teabaggers.

  • God is real. Don't fall for the biggest lie ever told. God is real and the only way to salvation is Jesus Christ.

  • BS ! Explain why there are so many religions , why god never shows , why crippled christians aren't healed , why god needs preachers and fakers to sell the bible, why catholic priests molest children , why the pope and his church intentionally covered it up . There is not a shred of truth or evidence anywhere or anyhow.

  • Yeah it's shameful & disgusting what the catholic church does; the Bible says that God will say to them,"I never knew you.Away from me,you evildoers!"Matthew 7:23 There is a place for those evildoers,But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the SEXUALLY IMMORAL... and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur...."Revelation 21:8 Not all christians are catholic & just because some men approve of vile acts doesn't mean that God approves of it.

  • @thebdgirl

he wasnt tlking about just Catholics since Christians and Catholics are basiclly the same and plz dont try to say otherwise, all religion is the same BS. The biggest lie is religion and GOD, you wanna know what will save the world freedom of thought from the tyranny of your so called God you cause the world more anguish and pain, plz go read a book beside the bible.

  • You go read read anything that contains verifiable data. FYI the Bible is used by historians as a form of historical reference and ancient events and records non related to the Bible or Christians coincide with Biblical accounts. Get an education and stop believing every zeitgeist type junk that people without a clue put together.

  • lmao, please! way to attempt to sound smart.

give me strait forward evidence of your imaginary friends, wait you CANT, and everything you stated most likely is ether greatly exaggerated, not true, or not even understood by you.

Looks like the tables are turned and you need a education from the lies of the bible.

  • Get off the internet more often and go get a BA io history, and you will see what I'm talking about.

  • just because there are ties within the bible and history doesn't make the statement that there is a God true. Also HISTORY DOESNT = SCIENCE

Science pretty much proved there is no God.

  • @lildread1 same bullshit, different day. If i want to worship a spoon, that's none of your business. prove to them, there is no God. how does science prove there is no God.science can not prove or disprove God. i really get tired of reading both sides fighting about this shit. just believe what you want and leave others alone.

  • The fact that men are corrupt does not disprove God's existence, if anything it only proves that the Bible is correct when it says that money corrupts man. Hello!

  • Then how do you explain Bill Gates? He IS the richest man in the world, yet he spends much of his money on charity.

  • @thebdgirl

i believe it's " the want of money ". money can not be evil, it's not a living thing. money can be a good thing. really nice to have when you have a baby to feed. it also helps to pay the rent and light your house, ya know, pay the bills.

  • @copperscorpions exactly, greed stems from money (or the want of), just as rape stems from sex being awesome.

  • People are disoriented and it's because they know something is wrong. We don't even know who represents us anymore.

  • Aside from any thing else a man takes his baby to a rally then starts shouting at a woman disregarding the child .the mans a cunt and stupid one at that .

  • PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS!!!! (ronpual2012)

  • I see a bunch of ignorant thugs attacking an innocent reporter. What I find really surprising is that just listening to the comments none of them agree with each other on the reason they are protesting.

  • "Reporter"? Hardly. Cutting a man off after she asked him a direct question to interject her own opinion is not reporting. If the story CNN discovered was that a bunch ill informed people were protesting, they might have just stuck to the facts and let the story present itself. (Which clearly could have happened had they just interviewed anyone and let them ramble.)

  • I bet most voting Democrats wished that most Republicans, or at least conservatives, where as sane as this women talking to the reporter.

Maybe then we could have politics that was more about making stuff better than seeing which politician gets the most money from lobbyists.

  • Um no. The woman couldn't articulate her argument well at all! "Government is stealing our money" is neither correct nor accurate. If she would have said something like "the classic Keynesian economic solution to economic down turn will, in the long run, harm American because it fails to account for the price correction that needs to occur in sectors such as housing, consumer goods, and banking." I might agree. But she (nor repubes) don't seem to understand how to put together an argument.

  • I choose to understand peoples point even if they use laymans terms. I might, or might not agree with her, but that dosent mean she has to be super articulate for me to understand what her point is.

Also, being articulate isnt synonymous with sane and articulate or not. I prefer people I dont agree with to still be sane and have some level of logical lateral thinking.

  • Of course people don't have say over what the government does with the GOVERNMENT'S money. It's the god damned government's. Personally, the crowd was the agressor in this instance. Mob rule clouds judgement.

  • LoL, are you daff or something?

Who do you think the gov is getting there money from if it isnt "the people"?

There isnt a separation between people (citizens), rich or poor, and the gov.

No people equals no gov, or country for that matter.

  • At 3:00 a CNN employee disguised as a protestor walked up to him and stopped him from saying what he wanted.

  • Really? How do you know that? Do you? Or are you just assuming he's some sort of undercover clandestine agent that does the dirty work of calming angry protesters? Couldn't just be that another protester had the impression that he was a bit too excited, possibly making a bad impression of the protesters in general?

  • cool vid, thanks for posting this.

  • Comment removed

  • Since when does anybody actually fully trust and rely on their government anyway, OR CNN? Other than what we have no choice in; the balance and what creates liberty is founded in free speech, DESCENT.

The last thing you do is serve a political assassination on some protesters. Lemme ask you this: Do you think Walter Cronkite would have baited a guy in the crowd and then talked over him?

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder how many people are missing the point of this video.

You really don't have control over how your money is spent, most people don't know 600 billion a year goes to the military, and that's just what we know because money disappears and there's no accountability. CNN reported the 80 billion missing in Iraq and the part about there being no further investigation.

Where's CNN now? Talking about manufactured issues like Obama's "The police acts stupidly" comment.

  • why does the guy with the kid sound like bert off sesame street

  • or Ray Romano? ^_-- Or Henchman 24.

That reporter acted in a VERY unprofessional manner.

But what about the tax dollars wasted in Iraq? It would've funded the stimulus, the Medicare reform, cash for clunkers, Medicaid, Welfare, etc, etc. All because of WMDs. North Korea has them, but we use diplomacy w/ them.

I despair of the Fall of the Pax Americana.

  • cocktapusprime....nice

  • Did he just yell F*** in front of his 2 year old :O. I am all about the freedom of rights. But c'mon, saying F*** in front of your 2 y.o. an you talk about taxes. Jeez every one knows that the government is stealing money. Every one knows that CNN and FOX and MSNBC are just brain washing medias to keep the normal "stupid" average American in fear and control.

  • I think that guy was retarded and didn't know what the fuck he was talking about, but I agree that the reporter was horribly unprofessional, inappropriately editorial and this DMCA was filed wrongly.

  • she was just a young, ignorant reporter who jumped in way too deep and had nothing to say. She just had to stand and take it. :)

  • I want to screw around in school. I don't want to work hard for a job. I want to have children out of wedlock and get wellfare checks. I want my health care paid for because I don't have health care. I didn't get a good enough degree to get a job that helps pay health insurance. I don't want to pay taxes. I want the tea baggers and China to pay for all of what I want. I want want want. GIVE IT TO ME OBAMA! Make the rich upper middle class pay for everything. Take their money to fund my welfare.

  • I want to go to a school where I can actually get an education. I want a chance to succeed. I want a chance to compete. I want everything you take for granted. I am not a snobby high class son of a bitch who complains when his mommy doesnt buy him a cadallic escalade for his 16th birthday. shut the fuck up you ignorant retard.

  • I worked and paid my way through college. I'm not a snob just not a person waiting for a hand out. There's a difference. I have worked with many people who made bad choices in their lives which has put them where they are. They want to blame everyone except themselves. I have worked with ladies who have 4 to 5 kids with no husband. Then tax payers have to pay their welfare. The people in this video are pissed because they are tired of paying for others mistakes. It's not about being a snob.

  • I came from a middle class family. No one paid college for me. My brother went into the national guard to get his education paid for. My sister and I got loans which we are paying back. My wife is an immigrant. English is her second language. She got loans and went to school. We are all paying back what we borrowed. No one gave us a thing. It's called planning and good decision making. Partying and screwing around like most people holds them back. Then they blame people who work hard. Bullshit.

  • So basically you are saying that you are too good to lend a helping hand to your neighbors and fellow americans? You would rather see them suffer then to shell out a few more dollars that probably would have been spent on dildos anyway? Seriously I used to identify with this libertarian economic policy bullshit but I can no longer fathom how anyone can be so arrogant as to say everyone is directly responsible for their social standing and should never receive any help. balance is the key in life

  • Nobody has a problem with helping. Passing a budget in the trillions is the problem. Your money is going to be devalued. It already is being devauled by the biggest creditor. The Chinese. In order to pay for this budget more US dollars have to be printed. That will cause inflation. Obama campaigned change while the economy was healthy. My family is not rich. And yes people do have a lot to do with affecting their lives. The responsible carry the irresponsible. Obama enables that.

  • If that's what you really think of left wingers, I feel sorry for you man...

  • Obama is screwing up the country. These people are just pointing it out. Obama is spending too much and has no way to pay for it. He has got to be the most fiscally irresponsible president ever. What this reporter does not state is that you get hit by fedral, state, and local taxes. Those who make 250,000 will pay about 50% or more in taxes. Not to mention sales tax. These same people don't qualify for any medical, or educational aide. They pay for everything on their own. That is not reported

  • Chrysler and now GM are going bankrupt anyway which is what everyone knew would happen. China wants a world currency because they are afraid of Obama fucking up the world economy further. Obama has to put a hold on the reforms and get the economy back first. Then work on his agenda. He is acting like he has no economy to fix first. When these folks get 50% taxes they can't spend to stimulate the economy Meanwhile people who don't pay taxes get more aide. Congress needs economics 101. Dumb Asses

  • Since when is RNN professional?

  • aint it the truth man. These democrats are selling us out pretty fast and Obama just increasing taxes and being the socialist he is. TEA PARTIES ALL THE WAY

  • She was unprofessional. She should be detached. That is not to say that I have any sympathy for the teabaggers. These teaparties are astroturf:

Obama gave people earning less than 200 K$s/year a taxbreak and only raises taxes on people earning over 250 K$s/year. The Republican party organized these teabaggers and hoped that people would believe that these teaparties are spontaneous. They are not.

This is one of the few cases I can honestly say that that everyone in the video is in the wrong.

  • a reporter reports the truth. SOme of these people act like idiots. Her reporting doesn't make it any more obvious.

  • If you don't have the temperament to be a reporter you should not be a reporter. I have always considered CNN a not too distant second to FOX in the shitty news category.

This reporter made these people seem almost sympathetic which is pretty damn annoying.

I want reporters to just report. I am quite capable of making my own conclusions and much more capable than any of the "pretties" on CNN.

  • She was -incredibly- unprofessional, in both the air section, and the unaired aftermath here.

However, the entire "Tea Party" was little more than a bunch of whining rich people, and their lower middle class mind slaves arguing that the taxes on the upper 10% should be cut.

These people likely also don't want to pay for anything with "their" tax money, even if they do or would directly benifit from it.

  • does ANYONE know what the fuck they are doing anymore??!!

  • you know I consider myself liberal and I support Obama to an extent, but I don't think that news should slant stories in favor of one side or another, I would say they should be "fair and balanced" but the news channel that claims to be like that is probably the worse offender of being unbalanced.

  • @JonnyTHM429 open your eyes. which claw on the leopard's paw would you consider the least dangerous? well, none of course. they all have their specific duty. listen to what they are saying. it's not left is better. it's not right is better. they are all part of the same consumed, corrupt beast that is stealing your life, literally. you work for the money, then they steal the money. they steal your very time. the media is, in part, a propaganda tool for agenda-setting and control.

  • @JamesOscar Not exactly sure what you're getting at, but it definitely sounds very conspiracy oriented.

  • FUCK CNN!

  • fuck CNN.

  • shes a bitch

  • they are the network and they everyright to do what they want with their stories... If you don't like it don't watch, anyway there isn't anything smart said, just the state is wrong, stop obama he is the devil and that kind of speach...

  • thanks for posting. this is what the great 2-party system got. it's weird that people are just getting wound up now government has been taking from poor for years and supporting socialism for super rich and corporations since early 70s' love the guy exploiting tot for sympathy. love nasty reporter. love that they would all go postal if we took away socialist institutions like fire & police dpts, & public schools. love em all. but don't ever look in the mirror- just put yourself in more debt.

  • Good for the founding bloggers for taking them to task. One wishes there was just one new channel that was completely unbiased. But of course why would the media want people to have the whole truth and be able to make their own decisions.

  • I would argue if money wasn't being spent for the betterment of this country, but from what I have seen that has just simply not been the case. What I see is a single point of view with no further research done besides what they see on their television. And if they did do the research, and thought it not in the right direction, then I would respect that if the conclusion they made was demonstrated by going out to this protest.

  • First, CNN did have a rather biased view. But as a observation, I don't think these people have the whole picture. 1) The officials are put into office BY THEM, and the keep getting reelected for one reason or another. 2) Money had to be spent to get us out of this economic hole, and allow us to progress to a point where we can be competitive. Gotta spend to make money. And look at the results; the economy is improving.

  • What the fuck ever happened to the Free world!?!!? More like who has the most money in there pocket to run for a campaign. And it all comes down to the best choice out of the worst of the candidates. When it comes to panic, anyone will instinctively try to protect themselves. Few more years...

  • CNN just fucked themselves in the ass. Now there is no reason CNN should not be considered the liberal version of Fox News Channel...

The protest was kinda retarded, but CNN's coverage was unacceptably biased.

  • @Konoha107 Since when has CNN NOT been considered a liberal news provider?

  • CNN is just another propaganda machine and they are just mad because this video just shows how obvious it is.

  • Thats great to see a different side of the argument. Changes things a fair bit doesn't it?

  • That reporter had quite a lot of spunk

  • Boy, I just love watching my responsible, single mother going to work every day, working hard to give an education to inner-city children who would rather snort pixy sticks and get in fights than cooperate with "some white lady," only to have an overwhelming percentage of her unfairly low (government set) salary taken and given to failing companies and irresponsible citizens, to be spent on ludicrous bonuses or mortgages they couldn't afford without the government stealing my mother's money. >:(

  • So the retarded protesters want to get rid of government or just taxes?

  • It's about spending, not all about taxes.

  • "It's about spending, not all about taxes. "

Saying they shouldnt have to pay taxes if it goes on things they dont agree with.

USA was set uop as a democray if they dont like it, they can go and live on a deserted island by themself.

  • The don't want to pay taxes to the government because they aren't spending their money in a good way. That's it. It is about how the are spending.

By the way, the USA is a Republic.

  • "The don't want to pay taxes to the government because they aren't spending their money in a good way."

" That's it. It is about how the are spending."

oh sorry u thought u said

"The don't want to pay taxes"

Sounds like it has somthing to do with taxes.

What a great idea, everyone can not pay taxes! Brilliant why didnt they thiink of that before?

Oh thats right the government would have no money!

  • You show much ignorance. Not an insult, just my opinion right now.

They are tired of the government doing all this spending (i.e. bailouts).

They are trying to send a message to the government that they don't want them to do it. They are saying that they don't want to pay taxes to a government that is spending their money poorly. That doesn't mean that they won't pay taxes, just that they disaprove of it. No one is trying to start an anarchy in America. Thanks for your concern.

  • "You show much ignorance. Not an insult, just my opinion right now.

They are tired of the government doing all this spending (i.e. bailouts). "

LOL your right every person int he USA should decide how all the tax money is spent.

So all 300 million people should have that job!

    Oh wait thats impossible.

Just like we have laws that everyone must abide by for the greater good, we have organisations, thats why everyone isnt in their own cave doing their own thing!

  • *Facepalm*

The elected officals that do decide how the money is spend are in fact voted in by the people. Most people think that those same elected officals shouldn't be spending that much money. They went out and protested it, to try to get them to understand how cictizens are ticked off at the massive spending, of congress, Bush, and now Obama by a much larger margin.

I don't know where you are getting the idea that they wanted the citizens to be able to control the budget.

  • "They are saying that they don't want to pay taxes to a government that is spending their money poorly."

"The don't want to pay taxes to the government because they aren't spending their money in a good way."

LIKE TO CONTRADICT YOURSELF SOME MORE?

  • WTF?

How are those contradictions. They are the same thing, just worded differently. Read the sentences again..... see how they are the exact same thing?

Yes, there was a typo with "The" in the beginning of the second sentence. I meant to say "they." I still don't see how that would matter, or change the meaning of the sentence....... how do they contradict??!?

  • Is

gorilla199uncensored a bogus strawman account of yours? He seems to be helping you. Kidding, but seriously. I'm neither a hardcore libertarian or a plain leftist, and even though I do think that government may sometimes have to make unpopular decisions on expenditures, his attempts at arguing are really not helping that notion. I won't argue myself for the case because I'm not up to date with how USA government is investing taxpayer's money, and I don't deny it may be less than optimal.

  • No, it isn't. Thanks for responding though. I totally forgot about that argument I had with that guy 7 months ago. I just re-read it, and enjoyed it. But seriously, it isn't a sock account. At least not a sock account of mine.

  • Comment just on the video itself. The reporter was obviously biased. She adimtted it when she mentioned FOX. Even reproters have points of view. Her view came out due to the mob effect. She may become like Dan Rather and will be seen as a toxic asset to CNN. My guess is it will blow over. People have really short attetion spans for this type of stuff.

  • Once it hits the net, it lasts forever.

  • ron paul!!!

  • The government is stealing our money, and all we get in return is a road system, police protection, a fire department, $10k insurance per bank account, social security, and free K-12 education!

  • I'm not sure that you have all of it covered but it does put it in the perspective that I want to highlight. If government takes 33% of our wages for just this.... Then how are they going take on nationalized health care? Expect at least 50%...

  • 1. Have people pay more, the richer they are (and they'll still earn more, even with the higher tax), and the tax increase won't be so huge (if at all existent)

    2. Higher taxes aren't so horrible ...and you'll need to spend less money, what with not having to pay for health care.

    3. The healthier the people around you are, the less likely they are to infect you.

  • Point 1: Obama is going to make people who earn 250,000 and over pay 39% of their taxes. A six percent increase of total wages vs. the lower tax bracket. Not only do they pay more innately because they make more but the tax is on a sliding scale meaning they pay even more. This translates to 15,000 dollars, which hurts Doctors the most and is one of the reasons why we have a shortage of family practice docs. Which is hurting health care.

  • Wrong. One of the reasons we have a shortage of family practice docs is the lack of compensation they receive once they graduate. You must have them confused with general surgeons or radiologists.

  • I misspoke, That is the primary reason and family practice doc make an average of 160,000. But my point still stands that it detracts away from primary care specialties that are on the cusp of 250,000. I agree with you.

  • What about those who make even more?

Also, arguing that higher taxes are bad, just because they are handled badly in the US (whether or not that is the case), is fallacious.

  • Higher taxes are horrible. I own the right to my own labor not you and not the government. Forcing me to pay for your health care is unconstitutional. And it will cost more money... And I will have to pay more money because not only do I have to pay for my health care but your health care and pay the government to manage my health care for me. Middlemen cost more money because they are not going to work for free. Therefore, less money.

  • Okay this is selfish tripe, one of the reasons we have such a high standard of living here in Norway is because of socialized health care (which, by the way, is one of the best systems in the world, way better than America's rank: 37).

The fact that you feel like going John Galt only means that you are a very selfish person, and that's all. The United States is the only wealthy, industrialized nation that does not have a universal health care system, you are living in the past.

  • I hope Americans realize one day that without high taxes you are going to fall behind other nations.

I'm not going to reply to you any more now Orionx26 that I know what kind of person you are.

You should be ashamed for being so selfish, honestly.

  • Please feel free to justify the claim that we will fall behind if we don't allow the government the right to decide how our money is spent, by means of high taxation. Please, by all means, show me how the government is more efficient with money than businesses or individuals.

  • The comments in this thread.

  • But seriously; I am not for government intervention for the most part, but people don't realize the gravity of the situation, and so there's plenty of bullshit flying around.

  • I fail to see how any of this justifies the position you took.

It seems more like you are saying that statement (the one I originally replied to) wasn't meant to be taken seriously.

  • Oh, my bad, I thought you were replying to the stimulus bill.

Justify the claim that high taxes equals better living? Norway. Some of the highest, if not the highest taxes in the world, top 1-10 on pretty much every beneficial statistic there is.

1st place Human Development Index, lowest murder rate in the world, a growing secular society with a prison system that works and rehabilitates, universal health care for all that does not have huge waiting periods, and let's not forget no poverty.

  • More importantly, most people in Norway don't have this throbbing hate-on for taxes like Americans do. As witnessed by our very own Orionx26 here.

We understand that you need taxes to pay for a good quality of life, and so for the most part people agree that they are necessary.

Another important aspect of Norway is that the government is afraid of its people, not the other way around like in America.

Much like France, we protest easily (though France is way worse on that part).

  • The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. TJ "Those Who Would Sacrifice Liberty for Security Deserve Neither." BF

You value socialism and I value liberty. Now I don't want to argue on which country has more. If you do, then refer to our constitution.

  • Norway adopted the US constitution ages ago, and we've made great improvements to it as well.

This same bullshit you are spouting here, like I just told muadkak, can easily be applied to cocaine and heroin.

You aren't allowed to use those drugs, they're taking away your freedoms!!1

Things that are inherently dangerous aren't up to individuals, this is not a hard concept.

  • FYI a lot of us are against the drug laws. (me included)

  • Oh okay, you all want anarchy. Great, have fun with that.

  • ya, that's a justified claim.

    Maximum Liberty =/= Anarchy

if you think it does, you need to do some reading.

I recommend you start with Locke

  • I think Somalia would be the best place for you guys then, they are the only country in the world without a government. Perfect, right?

  • I have learned a valuable lesson today though; ask people if they are libertarians before I start arguing with them.

  • Yes you should.

  • Yeah, asking this earlier could have saved me an hour of actually trying to make people I thought were maybe somewhat intelligent see reason and the flaws in their stances.

Now I realize it wasn't possible in the first place because you live in your own little world separated from reality, where you can magically have complete freedom and no anarchy.

I'm out, have fun in your selfish fear bubble.

  • I'm sorry if you cant accept that some people think that perhaps a there is a better way than your way ,or our current way, and strive to find it instead of give up and bask in the mediocrity.

  • Again, I agree.

  • Comment removed

  • You love strawmen don't you?

  • How have I not attacked your argument directly and set up my own easy argument that I masqueraded as yours and then just simply refuted it and moved on? Quote it so I can clarify.

  • "Quote it so I can clarify."

How? You just removed the comment.

    A cowardly tactic indeed.

I see I need not demonstrate that it is a strawman, as you are obviously not confident in being able to refute my claim.

Why should I convince you, when you have already admitted defeat, in your heart?

  • The comment I removed was not directed at you. That is the only one I removed.

  • ...and it was the one I replied to.

  • by all means show how i straw manned your argument.

I picked one aspect and ran with it. i did not misstate it, or misrepresent it.

  • If the straw man comment was not meant for me I apologize, i assumed it was.

of course we all know what happens when one assumes.

  • Aww. Are we Really so bad?

  • Yes.

  • Less also compare that with 1950s America and we can see that America was number one across the board. What changed?

  • 50 years changed. America has trouble catching up to some parts of the progressive societies around the world.

Heck, you're still stuck debating gay marriage! Norway legalized it....30 years ago? I'll have to go check, I don't even remember, that's how obvious it is over here.

  • So, Some of my countrymen are a little slow. We are getting there. America is a bit bigger and has more cultural inertia to overcome than Norway.

(this statement regards gay marriage and social change)

  • Yes, it certainly does. You are a good example as you seem to think that you should be able to pick and choose every single aspect of what your tax money goes to, that's not how it works.

I hope your selfish attitude toward health care bites you in the ass some day once the insurance company refuses payment because of a technicality. Maybe then you'll understand how your system rewards finding loopholes and avoiding payment while our system rewards doing a good job.

  • Go watch Sicko for more on why you are wrong on universal health care, Michael Moore is an idiot but a lot of what is in that movie is true.

Fun fact: The parts about Norway in the movie Sicko was cut.

    Why?

Because Norway blows France out of the water, France gives 6-months maternal leave, we give a full year. Heck, we even supply you with a car if you need one to get to work.

The reason it was cut from the movie:

It was deemed too unbelievable (Google it if you don't believe me).

  • Yes, what Zarlan says is true, Scandinavia in general is a fantastic place to live.

  • I am happy that you and your friends are pleased with your countries and standard of living. I am a bit concerned that you use it as a means to justify telling other people in other countries what is best for them.

  • It's easier to see what works and what doesn't when you have already gone through it and fixed the problem.

The more people that think like you, the more retarded your country's development will be.

  • Does it make you feel superior to call people selfish? You seem to enjoy doing it. Again you assume that everyone has your values and should do things your way. How very Ironic that you call me selfish as i Make no such Claim. Instead I say Value people's Liberty to have thier own values. Not force mine upon them.

I made no mention of picking and choosing taxation in the way you describe.

I postulated a system of communal health care that is opt in. I made no mention of Government Running it.

  • I am saying it because it is true. The entire rest of the wealthy industrialized world is doing it, but no, not America. Too special and singular.

What you are suggesting is privatized health care, which is horrible. Look at how your god damned insurance companies are run already, do you really need any more proof?

  • I will be in the position to pay my own way because I work hard and do well for myself. I will also vote for government officials that lower my taxes so I have more money to save. Which in turn is the same thing as insurance or nationalized health care. Since both take money out of my paycheck each month. I will choose to put that money away for what ever I need it for. Thats the difference, I choose where my money goes and you do, the government decides for you. You don't own your income.

  • It's not the same thing as nationalized health care at all! YOU have that money. YOU YOU YOU.

And muadkak asks me why I call you people selfish? You can't see beyond your own needs. Universal health care means that everyone is equal and do not have to worry about their health any more. There are so many advantages to this I couldn't list all of them if I had a 1000 remaining character count.

The most important one is easy: A healthy nation.

  • There may well be many advantages to your system. I do not deny that. I can however list the one disadvantage that you seem to disregard entirely.

    A mans right to choose.

  • A man's right to choose that others should die because they don't want to pay for it is not something that should be up to an individual person. This is something everyone else has already discovered.

I can make the same claim you are doing when it comes to cocaine and heroin.

  • could you please expand upon the drug reference i fail to take its meaning.

  • you like to make arguments from the masses a lot.

You do realize that this is called a logical fallacy for a reason.

  • It's a logical fallacy if you claim it is true purely because of appeal to majority, I made no such claim, try again.

  • That is the fundamental difference between Americans and Scandinavians. You value socialism and we value liberty. They are in my opinion (not fact) mutually exclusive.

  • What on Earth? If they were mutually exclusive, Norway would be a fascist regime.

You are free to do whatever you want in Norway, the only difference between Norway and the US is that we have higher taxes (and a higher standard of living). Well, that and few other things like we aren't afraid all the time over here...

It seems like you have been listening to a little bit too much anti-communism stuff, socialism is not the devil.

We choose our own doctors, etc, there is no real difference here

  • Then there is a difference between your government and ours. Our government becomes more evil and over extending the bigger it becomes. It thinks it needs to be larger because we have a larger population. We are afraid because the government is becoming a fascist police state and you wonder why I want to limit it. Like I said before, I can save my own money to pay for my own healthcare. I won't need the government or insurance companies to do that for me. I won't be force to pay for whom can't.

  • "You value socialism and we value liberty. They are in my opinion (not fact) mutually exclusive."

    Socialism enables liberty.

  • Depends on how you want to define LIBERTY.

  • No.

It depends on what liberties you value.

  • "A mans right to choose."

    There are limits to liberty:

    The liberty of other.

  • Agreed.

Now you have the burden of showing that my right to choose what is done with my labor, and its fruits, harms other mens liberties.

then you have the burden of showing how that places a higher demand on their liberty than on mine.

  • "Now you have the burden of showing that my right to choose what is done with my labor, and its fruits, harms other mens liberties."

    Ever seen homeless people? Beggar?

People who need medical care, but can't afford it?

"then you have the burden of showing how that places a higher demand on their liberty than on mine."

    1. Slight discomfort<huge discomfort<misery.

    2. Higher taxes, benefit you as well.

    3. "right to choose what is done with my labor"? Dude, you have a vote!

  • the homeless you say. how much from me do you think you are justified to take and give to them? should it be enough to give us equality in terms of property? then if i go out and get more and he goes out and loses what he recieved should i again be forced to give to him to make all fair?

I think your argument poor and unthoughtful.

or for people who only understand internet speak

    FAIL.

  • Strawman after strawman...

Get a proper education, and then we can continue this discussion.
