I would argue if money wasn't being spent for the betterment of this country, but from what I have seen that has just simply not been the case. Higher taxes are horrible. I own the right to my own labor not you and not the government. Forcing me to pay for your health care is unconstitutional. And it will cost more money... And I will have to pay more money because not only do I have to pay for my health care but your health care and pay the government to manage my health care for me. Middlemen cost more money because they are not going to work for free. Therefore, less money.

Point 1: Obama is going to make people who earn 250,000 and over pay 39% of their taxes. A six percent increase of total wages vs. the lower tax bracket. Not only do they pay more innately because they make more but the tax is on a sliding scale meaning they pay even more. This translates to 15,000 dollars, which hurts Doctors the most and is one of the reasons why we have a shortage of family practice docs. Which is hurting health care.

Okay this is selfish tripe, one of the reasons we have such a high standard of living here in Norway is because of socialized health care (which, by the way, is one of the best systems in the world, way better than America's rank: 37).
The fact that you feel like going John Galt only means that you are a very selfish person, and that's all. The United States is the only wealthy, industrialized nation that does not have a universal health care system, you are living in the past.

Justify the claim that high taxes equals better living? Norway. Some of the highest, if not the highest taxes in the world, top 1-10 on pretty much every beneficial statistic there is.
1st place Human Development Index, lowest murder rate in the world, a growing secular society with a prison system that works and rehabilitates, universal health care for all that does not have huge waiting periods, and let's not forget no poverty.

We understand that you need taxes to pay for a good quality of life, and so for the most part people agree that they are necessary.
Another important aspect of Norway is that the government is afraid of its people, not the other way around like in America.
Much like France, we protest easily (though France is way worse on that part).

I will be in the position to pay my own way because I work hard and do well for myself. I will also vote for government officials that lower my taxes so I have more money to save. Which in turn is the same thing as insurance or nationalized health care. Since both take money out of my paycheck each month. I will choose to put that money away for what ever I need it for. Thats the difference, I choose where my money goes and you do, the government decides for you. You don't own your income.
