@manchester2000ful and you regularly had coffee with him. i know him enough. no secondary level education, alcoholic, drug addict, unemployed (he did have a tree cutting business, no big deal), a hot head, who keeps a gun, and finally a murderer who found killing over communication the better thing to do. do you have anything else to add?
@bjornsiborgsi Tea. Oh you know him personally? Ha. You know nothing about him. He was a troubled young man. Did you ever delve into his childhood? If I had to go through that I would be a little messed up. Did you see him drink (so what) inject a needle in his arm? Reading too many rag mags. @manchester2000ful Marlon was PROUD of his son! & he admitted than he wasn't always a very good father., He loved him because Christian really suffered: Kashfi his mother was violent, she drank and took drugs, and Christian was sexually abused when he was 13. (because of Kashfi she hired hippies to take christian from Marlon during "last tango in paris" and as she refused to pay them, they kept Chris. and one of them abused him. Finally he was found with pneumonia, alone..)
@xanax189 I have nothing to say about Christian at all. I liked him. I agree he had a very trouble childhood. I did not know about the sexual abuse though. That will mess u up for sure. People love to knock people whom they do not know. These rag mags spew a lot of untruths and nieve' people believe them word for word.
@manchester2000ful So...! Can you understand why christian was so angry, hurt, depressed and took refuge to alcohol and drugs? That, as he was as a child abused physiclly, the idea that Dag was violent with Cheynne made him VERY angry? and that he was completly drunk on 16th May 1990 at around 22pm ?Can you understand that? No you can't...

@bjornsiborgsi And finally, i want you to realize that he took responsibility to his act. he wasn't a coward. and lots of people who knew him (tarita, his ex wife, some friend of him..) always said that he was generous, kind, he gave money to some homeless, but also that "there was 2 Christian, and the other was scared, anxious and drug/alcohol addict. He was unhappy that's all! because of his childhood and his name. That's not easy to be the son of a legend..
@monk22yrs - why are you coming here all of this time later to attack people that wrote what they felt from their hearts? Some people felt compassion for him. That is their choice. You don't have to agree but leave them to their own opinions.
Marlon Brando was a Hedonist and subscribed it to the letter of the law..Their is no need for offspring as the father needs to make a statement,..every son that follows is doomed..you can\t beat Brando and his EGO
Does anyone know if Christian Brando was a heavy smoker, drinker or drug user, which could've contributed to his early demise? I'm only curious from a medical standpoint. I'd understand he was into those habits, because of his hard life. I read the account given by the detective who retrieved him from his kidnapping to Mexico, that Christian at 13, was coughing up bloody phlegm. "I'm no doctor, but I know pneumonia when I see it".
@jenblu3 yeah, I agree-sounds very fishy to me too, always did-I always liked ol' Christian-as for the Dag Drollet killing-hey-Im sorry for the Drollet family, but he was tried, presented his side of the story in open court and did his time
c'est pas lui qui l'a tué,il c'est accusé à la place de ca soeur j'en suis sûre,on connaitra jamais complétement la vérité...en fait c'est un héros et personne le savait,c'est quand même bien ironique!
Just because a person has made some troubled choices and decisions in his life should not preclude him from a decent burial, your remark is uncalled for and shows the world that you have no empathy for anyone but yourself, those personalities are called psychotic in case you were not aware, you might need some serious counseling.
@Snarkyone1965 i have no empathy for any convicted killers----and there's nothing psychotic about that.
it is psychotic to pity convicted killers, or to pity somebody who is famouswho commits a crime....the evil incarnate molester and kidnapper of jaycee dugard even had a prison groupie who became his girlfriend and fellow kidnapper of poor underage jaycee.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
how can any of you be sympathetic to this vile man?
how you read his bio,or just look at the section on wikipediaa thsat reads : 4 Marriage and spousal abuse-look at the terrible things he did to his wife ,this guy doesn't 'deserve' a decent burial.
The way I see it, the poor old mom was the one who had the final say and she had no money to bury her son decently and there was no will from Christian. So the mother had the say and it was what she could afford. I will get this man a decent headstone one day. Nothing fancy but just something so he knew we cared. I think the mother cared but she was in a bind when this happened. I don't think Chris' admirers would do that to his grave. I had a friend lay flowers there for him.
I don't think anyone would vandalize this man's stone like Jim Morrison's. I hate the thought that he is laying in some field like a nobody. It makes me sick. Even my cousin Michael, who died of a heroin overdose when I was 8 years old, has a decent headstone and is buried with other members of the family. My mother travels to New York from Florida once a year to see him and he died in 1974. So if my mother can do it, why does this man have to lay alone like a piece of junk.?
Did anyone know Christian's final wishes, kalinamic? Did he perhaps want a simple burial? I only ask because when my uncle died, for as famous as he was, he wanted to be burried in a non descript plot with no headstone to save his family and other visitors to his resting place the "This way to Morrison's grave," spraypainted on other headstones insanity.
I liked Christian. I met him a few times at a friend's studio, I think that he was dating one of the receptionists working there at the time, and he was always very warm and considerate. I didn't even know that he was Brando's son until the publicity surrounding the murder trial, he was just a regular, down to earth guy.
My cousins are the children of a well known entertainment figure and I wouldn't trade places with them for a Bugatti Veyron full of a nepotism flavoured lollipops with gold sticks. My father did very well in the industry as well, but behind the scenes, and because of this I am able to be absolutely sure that the people who seek me out for relationships do so because of who I am, not who I belong to.
Though it's little consolation, I personally believe that there is more to the statement that the brightest candle with the warmest flame has the shortest life than we can appreciate in one lifetime.
OMG this is hilarious!! Where exactly does Donna call Debs delusional? Debs has probably got a point about Donna's English, though. She doesn't exactly look like a bright spark. One of them started off the aids rumour. How can that be Donna replying to Debs when it says the users location is the UK? I hope Chris, Chey and Marlon are somewhere laughing their asses off at this. Hopefully justice will prevail.
Oh god, get out. I would put up with him in a minute. Yea, keep tormenting the guy and it is like tormenting a dog. You can have a wonderful dog, but if you keep tormenting it, it turns on you.
It will honey. Chris is young and hot, and so is Marl and so is Cheyenne and they must be tossing the Millers around. GO triumverant!!!!! She can't be a Brando unless she married the man or had her name changed in court and the court will give you a hey of a time changing the name, especially with so many aliases. My uncle's sister wanted to change her name from Gertrude to Carolyn for business reasons and she was a sterling woman and the court put her through hell.
Don't worry, Chris is probably borrowing cigs and a Miller from Dennis Wilson!!! LOL. Dennis is probably saying, ain't we lucky, none of these jerks bothering us!!! LOL
I mean, she attacked Chris when he was living, claiming he raped her, beat her and that and now she wants to be the good guy? That sickens me how the poor guy was treated by so many of these attention seekers.
He probably lost the will after the whole Bonnie escapade. Who wouldn't? She was seriously demented and apparently had nothing on Chris' last girlfriend!!!
Is it Myles with autism? Something made me think it was Tim, but I'm not 100% sure.
I agree with what you're saying, Chris was only going to turn his life around for the better if he wanted to, but I think he was in so deep with Donna it almost became impossible. She supposedly had some nasty, nasty friends who beat Chris up on one occasion. According to George E Marlon was desperate to get in touch with Chris before he died, but never got hold of him. Donna blocked calls.
Yup. I talked to a woman who knew him when he was married to Mary. Donna was so horrible, this woman actually gave me his number but I couldn't get thru. Chris, please know, I loved ya honey. I think he does. This poor beautiful man deserved more than he got. He would have been welcomed at my hirise(gay building manager not withstanding) and my daughter and I would have treated him like royalty. I am a nurse and we would have been most welcoming.
Yeah, a book from Christian's perspective would have been extremely insightful, because a book from Miko, or any of the other children is just going to be another adoring portrayal of Marlon. I want to read Tarita & the assistant's books though, they should be interesting, but also probably may to be full of lies, who ever knows.
Well, it was said that his style of writing was profane yet insightful. I think it would have been funny as hell in some areas. It was said he had a good sense of humor. I knew about Maimiti. I think these two women, the Rev and the ho, need to get real jobs. I think the mother has it and so should. If that woman that was there when he died loved him so much she would have taken better care of him.
I agree with everything except the last bit. As tragic as Christian's passing was, it was ultimately up to him to care for himself, and abusing drugs, plus alcohol lead him down that path. Debbie was a bad actor in his life that he had around him to keep people he did'nt want to deal with around, plus do his other bidding. She's an unlikable individual, but she chose to hang around Christian strictly on his terms.
That tells it all, friend. I would have helped him but you know, the ho only loved money. Having your friends beat up a man you are supposed to love, that's a ho.
Yes, that's right. I think Christian's mother and Myles should split the money. Christian's mother went through hell because of what his father put her through. The cheap ass bimbo who was shacked up with him should not get a dime. Chris could have just picked up the horn and started yapping to all the press and HE would have been worth millions. I'm sorry he didn't write that book. I'm sure he had plenty to tell and I think we would have all had new hairdos. LOL
The money I speak about is money for the care and upkeep of the boy. When you have a child who is autistic, believe me, there is a lot of time and maintenance involved just on a daily basis that goes into their care, and this is not at all cheap.
That is the truth. But those two women enabled him too. There is such a thing as enabling. They could have said, look man, clean up your act or I'm out. He had no reason to clean up.
Marlon never had a good father figure himself, so I guess it made it extra hard for him to know what to do with his kids. I think he had their best interests at heart.
I think so too. I also think that all the head games and controlling he exserted on his children, as his father exserted on him as a youth, was an effort to toughen them up mentally, but they were'nt as strong he was.
I think Chris was manipulated by other people really easy and got into bad crowds. When he was in jail (away from hangers-on and people who loved his surname and not him) he got into no trouble, put his head down and got some qualifications too. Just goes to show really that he was fine away from the trash. The minute he left the vultures appeared again.
Yeah, Marlon should have had him live abroad, like in Europe or something. In France they don't star fuck people to death like they do here, that's why Johnny Depp, and Brad & Angelina, ect live over there. It's less aggressive media wise. Not that I give a rats ass about them, but Christian could have stood a chance away from Hollywood, and all it's seedy folks.
One of Marlon's oldest friends told him to send Chris and Miko to a boarding in the UK, but he didn't want them that far away from him. He had visions of all his kids living together as a happy family, but it didn't work out like that. I think he paid for his immense talent with the tragedies in his personal life. When Chris was in a really bad way Marlon used to send him to Tahiti to get him away from Hollywood's trappings.
Marlon should have listened to his friend, that was some really good advice. Once you learn structure & discipline, then you learn to enjoy all the freedoms life has to offer. I do know Christian went to a boarding school, but I don't know where. He was expelled for setting his dormitory on fire. This was something mentioned by Marlon assistant. I can't wait to read her book, and the book Cheyenne & Simon's mother waited to write & release after Marlon passed.
I know Christian used to bitch about Simon years ago, here he was surfing and there was Christian busting his ass. I think Christian had the most potential but the drugs an alcohol ruined it for him. I don't know much about Simon.
I did not know this. Chris bitched about Simon surfing and fooling around while he busted his comanche on the island. It's amazing he didn't bitch more.
Funny how Tarita waited until Marlon had passed away to write her book. If she'd written it while he was alive he no doubt would have cut off all financial support. She's never had to work thanks to Marlon and has loved lording it up as the lady of the island.
Christian wasn't interested in money for himself out of Marlon's will. He wanted to set up a trust fund for his autistic brother.
She's a smart, greedy, but smart...because you know Marlon rewarded for her loyalty to him. I wonder if he did'nt leave a clause in his will regarding any such books, Marlon knew all the angles. I heard Christian would have had another $450,000.00 coming to him threw the estate. Did Tarita ever date again, I heard that anytime she tried to, Marlon stepped back into the picture. I wonder if that's fact or not, but I can't wait to read her take on things.
Type 'JoAn Corrales' into Google and click the second to last link (topix) and you can read a nice article about Christian and Marlon. There is also a comment from Debs.
She's replying to the person who believes that Donna is entitled to money. I guess she's saying 'poor thing' that someone thinks that Donna should get some money. I dunno. It's hard to understand.
The only ones who should get anything from that are JoAnn and Anna. The law says since Anna is his only surviving relative, she gets it all, because there was no will.
Doesn't she have enough to do, what with suing dead people, running her church/school, and all the other things she has going to be correcting people's English?
I heard she is getting FAT. Musn't need the money that bad!!! LOL I hope she don't get one damn dime. If she had treated the man better. I would have.
That's right. He wanted the little boy taken care of. He wasn't a greedy one like some of the others, cuz like I said, all he had to do was open his mouth.
I always wondered why he never realized that if he measured his own life against his childrens at the various stages in his life, at the same age. That he would realize that living under his thumb all their lives would'nt be a satisfying outcome for them or him in the future. Boarding school would have helped them develop as individuals.
He did have skills to work. He was a talened welder and had a tree trimming business until the accident. To be fair, I don't think Marlon could have done much more to sort Christian out.
Yea, he did Like I said before, he was a tree trimmer, fishing boat pilot, welder, and machinist. But it must have been hard for him to work around everyday people knowing who he was and wondering if they were nice to him because he was nice or because he was who he was. I just meant it was very hard for him to be taken seriously and maybe Marlon should have told him that would happen and he could deal with it better.
I don't think Christian or any of the others even traveled outside of California, except for when the guy moved to Washington. Also there was the time he went to Italy to make that film, a time Marlon should have encouraged him to make a life there. I think Marlon was terrified of his children getting, or being exploited, so he exserted as much control as possible over their lives.
That's thing about cremation, they can give you anybodies ashes if they want. I thought the FedEx story was attributed to Miko Brando, and not to Christian though.
Yea that's right. I know the man had to be in absolute agony for him to be sick enough to fall into a coma. Like I said, Social Services would have seen to any financing issues if they knew he was broke.
I was shocked to learn Christian was living on welfare, in a Hollywood apartment building. He was terrible with his money, and he attracted seedy characters around him that dragged him down. Brando made his life complicated, but Christian certainly never stood on his own two feet either, seemed like he had no desire to.
When you are too generous, it is like bugs to a light. When you are not taught these things, you don't know what to do. Marlon should have seen that he learn some life skills and something about handling finances. My seventeen year old daughter probably handles money better than he did. The guy never stood a chance.
I think the fact that he did not make education a major emphasis in there life, plus the control, and the head games all had a major contribution in the kids being unremarkable individuals. On the other hand, there comes a time in life when you need to take stock of yourself, and your path in life.
That is true. Instead of Marlon saying, I ain't gonna be around forever, you better get some sort of skill, I don't see how anyone has a chance. When you are so addled up, no way in h you can take stock in yourself. Like I said, he never stood a chance.
Yeah, Marlon never let them think for themselves, but the reason I identify with Christian so much was because my own father was like that with me. Eventually there is a breaking point though, and a backlash with most folks. I moved out from under my controlling fathers grip at 17 with an older woman I was dating at the time.
I had a controlling father too and I left at 18. Chris did work on Marlon's atoll in Tahiti and he did live in New Hampshire at one point after he got out of prison. He would have been better off somewhere else, no question.
Thing is Kalinamic, he had all the say he wanted in their lives, because unlike us, they were totally dependent on him when it came to their finances.
I did'nt know Christian worked on Marlon's atoll, in "Songs my mother taught me", I read in 94', Marlon said that Simon was in charge of affairs Tahiti, so I guess he had Christian helping out too.
Yeah, Simon is in charge now, but in Chris' younger days he used to spend months on end building huts and such like on the island (places for people to stay). Marlon and Chris would do it together, they never employed anyone to do the manual work. They were both apparently very good with their hands and these were some of the best times they spent together. You don't hear so much about Simon, but he also had a drugs problem at one stage.
Really? I thought Simon was more of the tame sort, I did'nt know this. I do know Marlon made Christian turn down a lucrative position at MGM or one of the big studios as a carpenter. I think he was more afraid of his children embarrassing him publicly and having to face all his shortcomings as a father, and a husband.
Simon said that the island saved his life and he would probably be in jail if it wasn't for it. He got into drugs, but not in such a big way as Christian. When Marlon found out about Simon's drugs problem he got him enrolled on some college course and squashed him into place. Simon worked in Los Angeles as masseur for a bit. He's married with three kids now.
I did'nt know Simon had any children. It's a shame Christian was not able to escape to the island earlier, he might have been blessed with a family as well. I his wife Tahitian? I hate drugs...
I don't think Marlon was afraid of his kids embarrassing him, he didn't give a toss what anyone thought. I think he was frightened of Hollywood corrupting them. He wanted them all on his island, protected and away from what he perceived to be 'the big bad world.'
He was in hospital about 11 days, and his lawyer was telling the press that he was going to be ok, then 2 days later, I heard he died. So the lawyer must have been giving out a sham story.
We can't really blame the lawyers for his lifestyle Kalinamic, think about that $200,000.00 dollars he was awarded from Christies, did he use the small bit of it that it would have taken to purchase health insurance? No, he blew it on drugs and that bullshit wife/ex-wife/girlfriend, or whatever she was. Plus, when folks are ill, there are some little warning signs, he obviously waited till it completely took him out. Most people get a check-up every 2 years.
I wasn't blaming his lawyer for his lifestyle, I think the lawyer knew more than he put out when he said this guy was going to be ok. The only thing I could see is the lawyer saw this crap happening, he could have stepped in and tried to get a conservatorship and tried to protect his money. Oh no, the lifestyle was going on long before the lawyer came around.
I heard this too. But that lawyer of Chris' said there was no such assignment. I think these women need to get off their fat comanches and get real jobs!!!!! I heard that Donna even stole from Chris.
Rehab is not that expensive Sunshinemags. I think there is a lot of displaced blame going on here because we all recognize the potential Christian had to do almost anything he wanted to in life. Christian behaved like a mad rabid dog ,drug addict, murderer, wife beater, ect.
The $200,000.00 was wasted on phoney spousal abuse charges, for starters. It was common knowledge that Chris wanted to get as far away from Donna as possible, but unfortunately he was an addict and Donna knew what to do to keep him by her side. Chris was even beaten up by some of Donna's 'friends.' Funny that Chris fell ill the minute there was no money left.
The man was almost 50 years old Befoxy, come on. I used to envy him for being lucky enough to be the son of Brando, but what he chose to do with himself is downright sad, the guy had the worst case of butterfingers ever.
That's thing about cremation, they can give you anybodies ashes if they want. I thought the FedEx story was attributed to Miko Brando, and not to Christian though.
Chris was total hotness when he was younger. Drugs took there toll. Those 3 witches in his life were like something out of Macbeth. They dragged him down. Chris had lots of talent that went to waste.
Yea he was. I wouldn't have turned him away. But the poor guy had a hard life and later on it showed. As far as that lady poster goes, it may very well be Deb June. She was one right nut.
My daughter who is 17 said Ma for an old fogey he is so cute. Old Fogey, can you imagine!!!! Chris was an intelligent man who was put out in the cold so often. I hated that damn Bill Cable and any others like him. Chris honey, you rock and I hope I meet you and Dennis Wilson soon. Nice guys both of you. May all your hangers on rot ykw. LOL
Ah, I see. I just spotted a few posts by them saying 'Christian Brando is gorgeous!!!!!!' 'Marlon Brando is gorgeous!!!!' I presumed they were female (!) and their style of writing reminded me of DebsJune a bit.
I don't know about Blakehart, to be honest. Some say he is his son and some say not. I wouldn't be surprised. He's probably one of the kids that Marlon paid the mother off.
As my gay brother would say, BITCH. My brother is a hospital administrator. Fucking ho bag. I am a nurse with 20 years experience and believe me that poor man would not have suffered so much. I would have given him medication and treatment and treated him right. I'm sure we all would have.
Yeah, that poor man was in agony. I have a friend that lived at the state hospital here who collapsed on the floor and HIS roommate called 911 and he was taken to the hospital with internal bleeding. Can you imagine an amnesia victim calling 911 from the day room? So what was wrong with Donna????
ALL hospitals that accept government money must treat a person despite the resources. She should have known this man was sick. The social worker would have taken care of finances from there. Or was there something she did not want Mr. Social Worker to know?
It's a shame things didn't work out with Mary. I think there was potential for him to be happy with her. He took after his Dad where women were concerned that's for sure! I wonder if Chris was close to any of his other siblings or was it mainly Cheyenne?
What type of person sees someone on the front of a magazine and decides that they are 'designed to be together forever'!? I wonder how Debs actually went about meeting Chris after she'd seen him on the front of the mag?
Yeah. I think she was the only one who knew him thru thick and thin. They were together since they were both 10, for pete's sake. I heard he asked her to remarry him after the divorce was final.
I bet Debs was jealous of Mary! Getting what she couldn't. I don't think Mary would have re-married Chris. I think she'd had a enough of the Brando clan.
Dianne Mattson is a piece of work. I think she had the hots for Christian.
Yeah, Dianne Mattson was. Even the lady judge at the Blake trial said she had 'serious credibility issues'. I think even Chris thought that she had a hot nut for him and he didn't have one for her. She looks half retarded anyway. Yea, Debs was jealous and I KNOW Donna was of Mary. Lots of history there. She might not have married him again, but I think the door was open, if you know what I mean.
....and then there was Bonny offering Chris sex with her 17 yr old daughter! He should have settled with a normal chick. You kinda can't blame Mary bailing out - the whole family was like a train crashing waiting to happen :-( I wonder if Chris met Tuki?
I remember that. Chris told Bonny to go to hell when she offered her daughter. I don't believe he ever met Tukik but I was always suspicious of Bill Cable. He looked like a druggie and I understand he starred in a lot of gay porno videos.
Did the place look ok then? Perhaps they cleaned it up for the shoot. I thought one of the reasons why Christian was so down was because he was living in a hell hole. I agree, Chris didn't look so good in the pics with Debs (looked uncomfortable like he didn't want to be there) and the ones around the Bonny trial. I wondered what the sunglasses were hiding. I think he was HEAVY into drugs then. He acted a bit strange throughout the trial. He'd possibly given up then.
I'm sure the bitch cleaned up. I think he did not care anymore. If he was at my place, even if there was no sex (Oh Gawd), at least he would have some nice clean clothes, decent meals, good medicine, and good conversation from people who respected his intelligence. Like my gay building manager who tries to keep things right. I would have gladly done it all. I do it for people who need me despite the income.
REST IN PEACE CHRISTIAN ! WHEREEVER YOU ARE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM BONNY LEE BAKLEY !!!

Donna blocked calls.
befoxy12 2 years ago
Yup. I talked to a woman who knew him when he was married to Mary. Donna was so horrible, this woman actually gave me his number but I couldn't get thru. Chris, please know, I loved ya honey. He would have been welcomed at my hirise(gay building manager not withstanding) and my daughter and I would have treated him like royalty. I am a nurse and we would have been most welcoming.
kalinamic 2 years ago
Yeah, a book from Christian's perspective would have been extremely insightful, because a book from Miko, or any of the other children is just going to be another adoring portrayal of Marlon. I want to read Tarita & the assistant's books though, they should be interesting, but also probably may to be full of lies, who ever knows.

Well, it was said that his style of writing was profane yet insightful. I think it would have been funny as hell in some areas. It was said he had a good sense of humor. I knew about Maimiti. I think these two women, the Rev and the ho, need to get real jobs. I think the mother has it and so should. If that woman that was there when he died loved him so much she would have taken better care of him.
kalinamic 2 years ago
I agree with everything except the last bit. As tragic as Christian's passing was, it was ultimately up to him to care for himself, and abusing drugs, plus alcohol lead him down that path. Debbie was a bad actor in his life that he had around him to keep people he did'nt want to deal with around, plus do his other bidding. She's an unlikable individual, but she chose to hang around Christian strictly on his terms.
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago

Christian's share of the estate should go to his autistic brother, Myles, I think is the one whose autistic right?
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
Yes, that's right. I think Christian's mother and Myles should split the money. Christian's mother went through hell because of what his father put her through. The cheap ass bimbo who was shacked up with him should not get a dime. Chris could have just picked up the horn and started yapping to all the press and HE would have been worth millions. I'm sorry he didn't write that book. I'm sure he had plenty to tell and I think we would have all had new hairdos. LOL
kalinamic 2 years ago
He was concerned about the little boy. Not so much about money for him, but that little boy.
kalinamic 2 years ago
The money I speak about is money for the care and upkeep of the boy. When you have a child who is autistic, believe me, there is a lot of time and maintenance involved just on a daily basis that goes into their care, and this is not at all cheap.
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
That is the truth. But those two women enabled him too. There is such a thing as enabling. They could have said, look man, clean up your act or I'm out. He had no reason to clean up.
kalinamic 2 years ago
Marlon never had a good father figure himself, so I guess it made it extra hard for him to know what to do with his kids. I think he had their best interests at heart.
befoxy12 2 years ago
I think so too. I also think that all the head games and controlling he exserted on his children, as his father exserted on him as a youth, was an effort to toughen them up mentally, but they were'nt as strong he was.
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
I think Chris was manipulated by other people really easy and got into bad crowds. When he was in jail (away from hangers-on and people who loved his surname and not him) he got into no trouble, put his head down and got some qualifications too. Just goes to show really that he was fine away from the trash. The minute he left the vultures appeared again.
befoxy12 2 years ago
Yeah, Marlon should have had him live abroad, like in Europe or something. In France they don't star fuck people to death like they do here, that's why Johnny Depp, and Brad & Angelina, ect live over there. It's less aggressive media wise. Not that I give a rats ass about them, but Christian could have stood a chance away from Hollywood, and all it's seedy folks.
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
One of Marlon's oldest friends told him to send Chris and Miko to a boarding in the UK, but he didn't want them that far away from him. He had visions of all his kids living together as a happy family, but it didn't work out like that. I think he paid for his immense talent with the tragedies in his personal life. When Chris was in a really bad way Marlon used to send him to Tahiti to get him away from Hollywood's trappings.
befoxy12 2 years ago
Marlon should have listened to his friend, that was some really good advice. Once you learn structure & discipline, then you learn to enjoy all the freedoms life has to offer. I do know Christian went to a boarding school, but I don't know where. He was expelled for setting his dormitory on fire. This was something mentioned by Marlon assistant. I can't wait to read her book, and the book Cheyenne & Simon's mother waited to write & release after Marlon passed.
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
I know Christian used to bitch about Simon years ago, here he was surfing and there was Christian busting his ass. I think Christian had the most potential but the drugs an alcohol ruined it for him. I don't know much about Simon.
kalinamic 2 years ago
Hey really? I didn't know that. I don't think Chris and Simon were close. Simon was very close to Cheyenne....he was the one that found her.
befoxy12 2 years ago
Yeah, I read about how he found her. That must have been devastating...
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
I did not know this. Chris bitched about Simon surfing and fooling around while he busted his comanche on the island. It's amazing he didn't bitch more.
kalinamic 2 years ago
Funny how Tarita waited until Marlon had passed away to write her book. If she'd written it while he was alive he no doubt would have cut off all financial support. She's never had to work thanks to Marlon and has loved lording it up as the lady of the island.
Christian wasn't interested in money for himself out of Marlon's will. He wanted to set up a trust fund for his autistic brother.
befoxy12 2 years ago
She's a smart, greedy, but smart...because you know Marlon rewarded for her loyalty to him. I wonder if he did'nt leave a clause in his will regarding any such books, Marlon knew all the angles. I heard Christian would have had another $450,000.00 coming to him threw the estate. Did Tarita ever date again, I heard that anytime she tried to, Marlon stepped back into the picture. I wonder if that's fact or not, but I can't wait to read her take on things.

NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
That's right. He wanted the little boy taken care of. He wasn't a greedy one like some of the others, cuz like I said, all he had to do was open his mouth.
kalinamic 2 years ago
I always wondered why he never realized that if he measured his own life against his childrens at the various stages in his life, at the same age. That he would realize that living under his thumb all their lives would'nt be a satisfying outcome for them or him in the future. Boarding school would have helped them develop as individuals.
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
He did have skills to work. He was a talened welder and had a tree trimming business until the accident. To be fair, I don't think Marlon could have done much more to sort Christian out.
befoxy12 2 years ago
Yea, he did Like I said before, he was a tree trimmer, fishing boat pilot, welder, and machinist. But it must have been hard for him to work around everyday people knowing who he was and wondering if they were nice to him because he was nice or because he was who he was. I just meant it was very hard for him to be taken seriously and maybe Marlon should have told him that would happen and he could deal with it better.
kalinamic 2 years ago
I don't think Christian or any of the others even traveled outside of California, except for when the guy moved to Washington. Also there was the time he went to Italy to make that film, a time Marlon should have encouraged him to make a life there. I think Marlon was terrified of his children getting, or being exploited, so he exserted as much control as possible over their lives.

I was shocked to learn Christian was living on welfare, in a Hollywood apartment building. He was terrible with his money, and he attracted seedy characters around him that dragged him down. Brando made his life complicated, but Christian certainly never stood on his own two feet either, seemed like he had no desire to.
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
When you are too generous, it is like bugs to a light. When you are not taught these things, you don't know what to do. Marlon should have seen that he learn some life skills and something about handling finances. My seventeen year old daughter probably handles money better than he did. The guy never stood a chance.
kalinamic 2 years ago
I think the fact that he did not make education a major emphasis in there life, plus the control, and the head games all had a major contribution in the kids being unremarkable individuals. On the other hand, there comes a time in life when you need to take stock of yourself, and your path in life.
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
That is true. Instead of Marlon saying, I ain't gonna be around forever, you better get some sort of skill, I don't see how anyone has a chance. When you are so addled up, no way in h you can take stock in yourself. Like I said, he never stood a chance.
kalinamic 2 years ago
Yeah, Marlon never let them think for themselves, but the reason I identify with Christian so much was because my own father was like that with me. Eventually there is a breaking point though, and a backlash with most folks. I moved out from under my controlling fathers grip at 17 with an older woman I was dating at the time.
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
I had a controlling father too and I left at 18. Chris did work on Marlon's atoll in Tahiti and he did live in New Hampshire at one point after he got out of prison. He would have been better off somewhere else, no question.
kalinamic 2 years ago
Thing is Kalinamic, he had all the say he wanted in their lives, because unlike us, they were totally dependent on him when it came to their finances.
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
I did'nt know Christian worked on Marlon's atoll, in "Songs my mother taught me", I read in 94', Marlon said that Simon was in charge of affairs Tahiti, so I guess he had Christian helping out too.
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
Yeah, Simon is in charge now, but in Chris' younger days he used to spend months on end building huts and such like on the island (places for people to stay). Marlon and Chris would do it together, they never employed anyone to do the manual work. They were both apparently very good with their hands and these were some of the best times they spent together. You don't hear so much about Simon, but he also had a drugs problem at one stage.
befoxy12 2 years ago
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
Simon said that the island saved his life and he would probably be in jail if it wasn't for it. He got into drugs, but not in such a big way as Christian. When Marlon found out about Simon's drugs problem he got him enrolled on some college course and squashed him into place. Simon worked in Los Angeles as masseur for a bit. He's married with three kids now.
befoxy12 2 years ago
I did'nt know Simon had any children. It's a shame Christian was not able to escape to the island earlier, he might have been blessed with a family as well. I his wife Tahitian? I hate drugs...
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
I don't think Marlon was afraid of his kids embarrassing him, he didn't give a toss what anyone thought. I think he was frightened of Hollywood corrupting them. He wanted them all on his island, protected and away from what he perceived to be 'the big bad world.'
befoxy12 2 years ago
Your right, and he was right too, Hollywood is the devils playground...
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
He was in hospital about 11 days, and his lawyer was telling the press that he was going to be ok, then 2 days later, I heard he died. So the lawyer must have been giving out a sham story.
kalinamic 2 years ago
We can't really blame the lawyers for his lifestyle Kalinamic, think about that $200,000.00 dollars he was awarded from Christies, did he use the small bit of it that it would have taken to purchase health insurance? No, he blew it on drugs and that bullshit wife/ex-wife/girlfriend, or whatever she was. Plus, when folks are ill, there are some little warning signs, he obviously waited till it completely took him out. Most people get a check-up every 2 years.
NUMBERSRUNNER71 2 years ago
I wasn't blaming his lawyer for his lifestyle, I think the lawyer knew more than he put out when he said this guy was going to be ok. Oh no, the lifestyle was going on long before the lawyer came around.

I wonder if it's true that Bill Cable supplied Chris with drugs?

Nothing would surprise me. I think he was a hanger on.

Sane people just don't do that type of thing, do they?!

I think she had the hots for Christian.
befoxy12 2 years ago
Yeah, Dianne Mattson was. Even the lady judge at the Blake trial said she had 'serious credibility issues'. I think even Chris thought that she had a hot nut for him and he didn't have one for her. She looks half retarded anyway. Yea, Debs was jealous and I KNOW Donna was of Mary. Lots of history there. She might not have married him again, but I think the door was open, if you know what I mean.

....and then there was Bonny offering Chris sex with her 17 yr old daughter! He should have settled with a normal chick. You kinda can't blame Mary bailing out - the whole family was like a train crashing waiting to happen :-( I wonder if Chris met Tuki?
befoxy12 2 years ago
I remember that. Chris told Bonny to go to hell when she offered her daughter. I don't believe he ever met Tukik but I was always suspicious of Bill Cable. He looked like a druggie and I understand he starred in a lot of gay porno videos.

Studio flat means efficiency and that is one room with a kitchenette and bathroom. I hear it was a real hellhole.
